This microwave seemed cheap from the beginning. It worked for ONE MONTH of light use. Has no interior light when you open the door and runs noisy. WhY would they make a microwave that doesn't light up? Now it's up to me to have it repaired

I bought this microwave on sale and it is one of the best there is. Inverter technology is more accurate than the microwaves on the market nowadays. It heats up food very fast as well because of how high the wattage is. Most microwaves get negative reviews when they break, but mine hasn't so I have nothing to complain about. My only dislike, which is a small one, is how huge the microwave is. You need to see it in person and have enough counter space for it. It is a lot bigger than you'd think and the inside is not as roomy for how big it is. But this is only a small gripe.

This was my second Panasonic microwave, First one lasted 4 yrs., 2nd 1 1/2yrs. I really liked the appearance of the stainless steel and reviews suggested a quality appliance over competitors. I was shocked after just over one year (past warranty) that it started acting up. Repair person said don't buy one with an inverter because Panasonic configures circuit board that all ties components together, So if the door switch goes it can effect other functioning. Cost of repair exceeds price of new oven. Went on line and found many many disgruntled Panasonic owners with same issue. My advice buy another brand with basic features.

This is a good basic microwave at a great price. We replaced a 15 year old built-in with this one about a month ago. Today's microwaves seem to have lots of features for lots of $$$. We use ours occasionally for reheating and popcorn, and don't need convection cooking, etc. It does the job and looks great with the matching trim kit (which cost more than the microwave itself !!!).

I shopped at Best Buy to replace a microwave that made funny noises and did not perform. I didn't need anything fancy. This appliance did the trick. It did not overpower the shelf I have for a microwave. I did get one microwave that was so deep that it did not sit on the shelf. The only other option for my relatively shallow shelf was a GE profile oven that was three times the price. One does not need a bigger and more expensive microwave if the largest item you wish to cook is the size of a full sized plate. That's what i needed. That's what I pruchased.

I bought this microwave because Panasonic has a good reputation for reliability. Since I've only had it for 6 weeks, it's a little early to say if they're still a reliable brand, but I've had no problems with the unit. A few quirks, though. The delayed start mode is unintuitive - I always have to look up how to punch in time for delayed start. The fan is very loud; either that or the Frigidaire unit that crapped out on me after only two years had a really quiet fan. This Panasonic is more powerful than most ovens we've had, so that takes getting used to.

    Died within 3 months

This got great reviews and worked well... for a while. The only feature I didn't like was the fact that the light does not come on when you open the door... it only comes on while the unit is actually cooking! Why would someone design it that way??? Anyway, the bigger issue of course is that the unit died 2-3 months after purchase. Yes, it was still under warranty, but Best Buy won't do an exchange at that point, and Panasonic doesn't have that many authorized service locations to drop off the unit, so it would need to be shipped there (paying for shipping) and then you're without a microwave for a while. I'm sure I just got a lemon, and most of these units are fine, but I had to put in my results. Ultimately I bought an LG and have been happy with it (especially the fact that the light turns on!).

This is very advanced from my old one. It has sensors in it, so the food cooks even better than ever. No more burnt popcorn, no cold spots on meals that you cook. 10 different power selections, makes butter soft, and it does not melt it. 60 seconds to boil water instead of 3 minutes. The stainless steel looks very nice in the kitchen. Some people said it's very loud, but it seems the same as any other microwave that I owned. It fits very well in the space that I needed, compared to the other larges microwaves.

The machine is not as quiet as sharp brand although the noise is relatively low. The overall build quality is pretty good. It is not as big as my old LG, they rated as the same cubic feet. the overall size is smaller so it is better to sit on my kitchen. I like it.

We had the Genius version for 10 years. I was disappointed to see that there is no interior light when the door is opened. Also, when I first started it up, I thought there was something wrong with it because it is so loud. But that's the way it is. Its twice as loud as our previous microwave and you can feel it vibrate through the granite countertop. I am returning it and will see that they plug in the next microwave i want see, which they would not do with this one.

No matter how long I leave the water in there it will not freeze, in fact if you leave it on long enough all the water disappears.. The kids really enjoy watching things go round on the spinning table inside.

Only cooks for 3 minutes then shuts off?!?!

I bought this microwave less than a month ago, it doesn't stay on for more than 3 minutes, no joke! I really only use my microwave for quick re heating of food anyway but when it comes time to BOIL WATER, that requires an extra minute ( haha) it shuts off! The power level isn't working either, you can enter the power level but it cooks at the same level as high....... I called best buy for a return/exchange, but I'm out of the 15 day return window. I then contacted Panasonic, they say it sounds like a manufacturers defect and is advising me to take it to a repair center that is 25 mins away from me! I am going to bring it this week but seriously, why not just replace it?!?! Oh well, live and learn

This unit has a very nice look, fits well on the average counter top and works just fine. However, I'm disappointed that the inside light does not light up when the door is open. Light does allummanate while oven is in use but when you open the door, no light to view meal. my vision is not so great anymore. So, if only the light would come on when door opens, I would give it a 4+ star rating.

I have only owned this microwave for a week now but so far I love everything about it. I love the sensor reheat. I have used that feature several times and from pasta to squash to soup it has resulted in perfectly even warmed up food. It looks great on my counter and the price was very reasonable for all the features that this unit has.

When my old microwave started to fail, I had to act fast. I can't live without my microwave. I had a few requirements - 1) size/weight because would live in small wall cabinet, 2) power because I nuke a lot of frozen dinners and was tired of having to guess at how much additional time my meal needed over what the box said, 3) cost and 4) availability.. I did a fair amt of online comparing and this one met my needs. It turned out to be almost identical in size to the Panasonic it was replacing and was even more light weight. The times listed on frozen dinners are more than sufficient, finally. It was a little more than I wanted to spend, but worth it for those specifications. And it was available in the store for immediate pickup. And the staff cheerfully put it in my car for me. So far so good! True the light doesn't come on when the door is open, but the upside of that is if my hands are full and I forget to close the door, I don't have to worry about leaving the light on. I'd have liked a door handle, but the push button isn't a deal breaker. I haven't used many of the features yet, but am happy with how it fulfills its basic functions.

Bought this beginning of May, 2015. Two adults in our household. We are not heavy microwave users. Purchased because I liked the size and the turntable. Died in 11 months. Our other microwaves lasted over ten years!
