    great full range microwave

i've been using this for 2 days so i've had a chance to use a few of the options. this microwave is probably more than i need, but it has so many features for the "reheater" or "frozen dinner" freak & for the serious gourmet. it has alot of options that make it quite automatic for heating & for defrosting. it's a good size microwave, w/more power than i've had before, so i'm really impressed w/cooking, reheating & defrosting time. at 1st i was pretty intimidated by all the automatic buttons, but they all just make sense, so reading the manual really brought the features home to me quickly. i would agree w/the 1st reviewer -- it really seems kind of dumb not to have the light go on when you open the door, but so far, that's its only drawback. i would have given it 5 stars if that light went on. maybe they'll fix that in the next model. i'm pleased w/this purchase, as i really didn't know what microwave i would bring home when i went to the store. i was open to different models, & for the money, this is a very good buy.

    Solid Microwave

Seems to be a solid microwave. Powerful, cooks quickly and evenly. Large enough for typical use: heating a frozen entree, reheating leftovers, defrosting frozen food. Much quieter than the older model it replaced, which was pretty loud. Much lighter too. Somewhat plain looking but not an issue. The inverter technology cooks a bit more smoothly at low power but it's no big deal really. Only owned a few weeks so we'll see how reliable it is. On sale for $108 at BB. Great price.

Solid but no frills and a little noisy

A little small, can't fit a few things in it b/c of small height but hey that's a trade off of a small footprint. Noisier than my last microwave. The no light when door is opened is annoying, not so much b/c you can't see the food (which you can if you have a light on in the room - how many of us need to microwave in the dark?) but it's not as easy to clean walls and ceiling of the microwave w/o some direct light. Minor point but :"Quick Min" also requires you press Start. Kind of takes some of the convenience out of it like those people who set up a 2 digit speed dial for 911.

    Great Microwave for the price

Bought this on sale this week at BB, it was a great price for a bigger microwave. My old Microwave which was smaller than this died and I was going to ship at Wally World for the replacement but this one caught my eye. I've had it for a week now and no problems. I like how big the size is on the inside and the thing works fine. Hopefully I won't have to replace it in another 5-8 years. For some of the concerns on the other reviews -there is a light when the microwave is running, but no light when you take the food out. No big deal for me as my kitchen is lit well. Noise - my old microwave was actually louder so this is quieter for me in comparison. I don't really notice the sound when it's on. So far so good. Good price for it at BB this week as well. Saved $$.

Great Microwave for small counter tops.

For several years I had a full sized microwave that was very powerful, but it took up a lot of counter space. I loved that microwave, but I recently moved from my old house that had a huge kitchen, with a lot of counter space to spare, into an apartment with a very small kitchen. I brought that huge microwave with me because it still worked wonderfully, and I thought it would fit OK in the smaller kitchen, but I was wrong. So, I was forced to give the huge microwave to charity, and I began my search for a much smaller microwave that would still have the power I was used to having. I shopped around on-line for several days looking for the right microwave, but all I could find were microwaves that were the right size, but not strong enough in the power mode. I really thought I would have to give in, and purchase the weaker but smaller models I had been seeing everywhere, but then I decided to give Best Buy a chance. And thank God I did! This microwave is the perfect size, and was the perfect power mode. Best Buy was also very easy for me to purchase the microwave on-line, then pick it up at my local Best Buy the very next day.

    Microwave Updated

We replaced our old microwave with this one, which we chose after looking at reviews online. It is so much faster than our old one, but don't know if that's the norm now or just that ours was so out of date. It is roomy enough for everything we'll need; easy to operate, and doesn't take up as much space as our old one either. We haven't had it much more than a month, so can't vouch at this point for longevity, but we are very happy with it so far.

I have owned at least 3 of these microwaves made by Panasonic. This one is the noisest , very loud, . It cooks great and I like inverter technology. The main problem is it does not last very long. You will be lucky to get 2 years out of it. All mine failed before 2 years. That is why I always get extended warranty . One almost got to 3 years. Our kitchen is black and grey so this is one that comes in black. That is one reason I keep buying them. If I could find an LG in black I would buy that one.

This microwave has surpassed all expectations. Heats quickly, defrosts well, and the sensor cook makes frequently cooked items easy to prepare. Still working well after 11 months of use.

    Really Nice

Fist off, stop whining about the light on the door only works when the microwave is on. I can't imagine any of you not able to prepare a meal without lights on. You don't need a light to put the meal into the microwave. it has nothing to do with how the microwave performs. I had it out of the box and ready to use in less than 5 minutes This microwave does what it's suppose to, and it does it well. It cooks meals fast and evenly. Other than setting the time, I didn't have to read the manual. This unit's buttons operate like any other microwave. I haven't tried cooking using the sensor. That wasn't high on my priority list when I purchased it. The cord on it is a bit short, but this is OK, for me, because of where I have the unit laying on. I am very pleased with it.

    Good choice for me

I had a GE Sensor which I loved, (similar to this) which developed a keypad malfunction issue and could not be fixed - barely a year old. Looked for something with same features - this performs well and so far has been a good product. I read some people were upset the interior light does not go on when the door is opened - not a problem for me. I do find that sometimes I have to work at latching the door - it does not just push shut with a slight finger touch. My biggest peeve is that the sensor cooking does not give you a clue of how long it will take for each setting once you start it, so you cannot see when the item will be ready. It seems to cook properly with the sensor but the GE did a better job of letting you know how much longer it was going to cook. However, the GE broke, and that model has been discontinued, so this was my next best option and I would pick it again.

After 35 years of faithful service my Sharp Microwave finally stopped working. This Panasonic was exactly what I was looking for. It arrived on time as stated and works great. Lot's of power so heating time can be somewhat reduced. Can't find anything wrong with this. Large capacity. Turntable works fine. It has 10 different heat settings including defrost, cook delay, a keep warm feature, and it's very quiet. For the price of this machine, you can't go wrong!!

I bought this microwave on sale and it is one of the best there is. Inverter technology is more accurate than the microwaves on the market nowadays. It heats up food very fast as well because of how high the wattage is. Most microwaves get negative reviews when they break, but mine hasn't so I have nothing to complain about. My only dislike, which is a small one, is how huge the microwave is. You need to see it in person and have enough counter space for it. It is a lot bigger than you'd think and the inside is not as roomy for how big it is. But this is only a small gripe.

We had the Genius version for 10 years. I was disappointed to see that there is no interior light when the door is opened. Also, when I first started it up, I thought there was something wrong with it because it is so loud. But that's the way it is. Its twice as loud as our previous microwave and you can feel it vibrate through the granite countertop. I am returning it and will see that they plug in the next microwave i want see, which they would not do with this one.

The machine is not as quiet as sharp brand although the noise is relatively low. The overall build quality is pretty good. It is not as big as my old LG, they rated as the same cubic feet. the overall size is smaller so it is better to sit on my kitchen. I like it.

I bought this microwave less than a month ago, it doesn't stay on for more than 3 minutes, no joke! I really only use my microwave for quick re heating of food anyway but when it comes time to BOIL WATER, that requires an extra minute ( haha) it shuts off! The power level isn't working either, you can enter the power level but it cooks at the same level as high....... I called best buy for a return/exchange, but I'm out of the 15 day return window. I then contacted Panasonic, they say it sounds like a manufacturers defect and is advising me to take it to a repair center that is 25 mins away from me! I am going to bring it this week but seriously, why not just replace it?!?! Oh well, live and learn

This unit has a very nice look, fits well on the average counter top and works just fine. However, I'm disappointed that the inside light does not light up when the door is open. Light does allummanate while oven is in use but when you open the door, no light to view meal. my vision is not so great anymore. So, if only the light would come on when door opens, I would give it a 4+ star rating.
