Customers are saying

Customers love the size, ease of use, and heating speed of this 1.2 Cu. Ft. Microwave with Sensor Cooking. Many appreciate its reasonable price and the overall performance. However, some customers point out the lack of interior lighting and a slightly higher-than-average noise level as drawbacks. My wife wanted a toaster oven last year and a microwave this Christmas so after research I bought this Panasonic. The microwave fills all the space I had for placement. Our first tests were with the popcorn button and it performed perfectly. Since then we have used it to reheat and keep warm and the oven did its job. Meals seem thoroughly heated without cold spots and the power is much appreciated. I think this one's a keeper !

We got this to replace my father-in-law's ten year old target bargain microwave that bit the dust. This Panasonic is a serious little workhorse. Compact, but surprisingly feature rich and easy to use, this little machine is the little oven that could.

The size is perfect for my needs which aren't extensive. This is a powerful unit which gets the job done in less time than my previous microwave units. Works beautifully as advertised. I've gotten used to having he inside light come on when the door opens and while cooking. This unit doesn't have the light come on when the door opens which doesn't matter when the lights are on - it's just something one would expect since all previous units I've owned did light the interior whenever the door was opened. But nothing is perfect.

    Not Bad for the Price

This unit seems to cook well enough. I find the door to be questionable. It seems like it has a bump to it moving from open to closed. Not sure if that's normal or if I have a bad unit. The only other unit I was able to check out had a broken door, so...maybe a future issue I'm seeing the start of here. The price is right for the size and job it does, so I'm fairly happy with the purchase. I just hope if the door finally breaks, it does it within the warranty period. One thing that really bothers me about this unit is when I hit the quick minute button, I also have to hit the start button. It bugs me since my last microwave would start cooking-which saves a step & makes a "quick minute" button a bit quicker.

    Bulky but powerful MW oven

First, I'm only going 4 stars because I really only use a microwave for typical microwavey things like heating frozen entrees, popping popcorn, reheating drinks and such, so I'm never going to work any MW oven through its paces. This thing is perfect for me, but others may want more controls or pre-sets for different types of foods. I can say, though, that the Sensor Reheat/Sensor Cook options seem to work perfectly, which is a big plus for this oven. Be aware, though, that the cooking directions on all frozen entrees seem to be set for 1100-watt ovens. Since this one is 1200 watts, you may end up with overcooked bits of food if you don't change the timing a bit. I actually had to return the first oven I bought because it had clearly been damaged either in-warehouse or during shipping, but that may have been a BestBuy problem, not Panasonic's.

I bought this unit to replace a smaller microwave by Avanti that I purchased because its compact size seemed a good fit for our small kitchen. Bad choice. The inside was too small, and the oven intermittently shut down in the middle of cooking something (usually popcorn), probably due to internal overheating. This mid-size Panasonic is a delight to use, with a considerably larger interior that accommodates everything I cook, with room to spare. One caveat: Read the instructions first. The Sensor Cook settings (if you choose to use them) are coded for different things you might be cooking or heating, so you can't just pop something in the oven, select Sensor Cook and hit Start. That false assumption on my part, in a hasty experiment, resulted in a crispy bagful of black popcorn. Look in the manual and find out which of the 12 settings applies to the thing you're cooking. Other than that, it's a pretty standard microwave that does the job without a hitch, and it has enough power to cook quicker than my old oven. I'm glad I got it.

When confronted with repairing our beloved Amana unit with stainless steel trim, it was shocking that I could aquire this Panasonic unit also with stainless steel trim for LESS than the cost of the part of the defective magnitron in the Amana (I usually fix rather than replace). The performance numbers were similar with a slight nod to the Panasonic. The Panasonic functions much the same as our old unit which is great.

We had a larger Panasonic microwave that was really too big for our needs. The old microwave heated and defrosted beautifully, but the door latch broke. I was trying to avoid another door latch like this one but there are not many choices of different door styles for a smaller, counter-top style microwave. Decided to stick with the same brand and technology and hoping the door latch lasts longer than 8 years.

Our old microwave bit the dust so we did some research and headed out to Best Buy with all the knowledge we needed to make our purchase. But then we got there and were faced with an aisle full of ovens that all seemed like they would work. Along came Sara and talked us through the pros and cons of each. Then we posed the most important question..."if you were to buy one today, which one would you choose?" It was the Panasonic which we had fully intended to buy before we set foot in the store. The added bonus was that it was on sale for a savings of $40. I also had a $50 BB card that I had won at work burning a hole in my pocket. So for $59.99 out of pocket we walked out of the store the happy owners of a sleek high powered mid sized microwave. We got it set up in place and did the ultimate microwave test. We got out a bag of popcorn and hit the popcorn button and waited. It came on nearly perfect with hardly any old maids and, most importantly, no aroma of burned popcorn. We have yet to put the oven through its full functional use but anticipate no difficulties. Oh. One more thing. It looks awesome sitting on our counter!

Just the right size, with a sleek modern look, this is only the second microwave I have owned. Since my first Panasonic lasted over 25 years, it was clear that I wanted a second. I haven't used any of the special features yet, but the Popcorn button is very handy. If this one lasts half as long as my first, I will be very happy.

Works fine. Louder than we would like. No rubber feet to keep it from sliding around. The light only operates while it is in use, not when you open the door to place items in or remove items.
