Ok for a year

Cooks very hot, more so than normal.I don't cook microwave popcorn very often, but about six months in I did, using the popcorn button. It caught on fire, no flames. There was black smoke rolling out of it and the bag was black. I scrubbed it out, but stayed yellow on the walls. I just recently saw an electrical bolt while heating up leftovers. It's on its way to the dump.

After 5 1/2 months had to return the microwave because it was making a loud groan when started. This was very disappointing since Panasonic used to make quality products. It was still under warranty and I had purchased the Geek Squad Protection. Best Buy refunded the full cost. Great service by Best Buy. Decided to purchase an LG LMC0975ST to replace the microwave.

It lasted less than a year. I won't buy another Panasonic microwave. So, now I'll have to buy another microwave oven. I can't afford to buy a new oven every year. So, if anybody is thinking about buying this oven, reconsider. I'd give it zero stars if I could.

I believe it's the magnetron. Brought it to local authorized Panasonic one man show shop and still don't know what's wrong with it 2 days later. This one doesn't cook as well as the last one I had and these things are barely lasting 5 years which to me is ridiculous dumping these things into the trash every 5 years. Someone has to start making things to last longer.

My last microwave was a Panasonic and lasted 16 years. I guess they really DON'T make them like they used to. Worked like a champ until, you know, it didn't. :(
