We bought this on 11/19/09 i washed the glass tray and have wiped up any mess since then and it has not been out of the microwave. On 12/17/09 I cooked a hot pocket which was on a corelle plate for 2 min quick. I heard pop noised and opened door to see glass tray inside broken in half. I called panasonic got someone who i could barely understand of course, to be told it was not covered this was an accersory, their book states it can NOT be used with out it. IT IS NOT AN ACCERSORY. I was told would cost $30.00 to replace which is not the point it is that after not even 30days for glass tray to break and then not to back up there product is bad business. I will not buy panasonic again that is for sure.

The Clock numerals are blue, which is more difficult to read, even with good eye color differentiation. White numerals are better. The nob to set the cook time is laborious to set Versus entering a given time on a keypad. The trim kit requires a larger inset dimension Versus the LG 2.0 cu. ft. microwave.

One of my favorite parts is the 1 minute button. Of course, every microwave should have a popcorn button. Still getting used to the sensor cooking, but I think I am going to like it once I better understand how it works.

Highly rated by Consumers Report and it lives up to the hype. Price better than Amazon and delivery was free and quick.

really enjoy the inverter reheat function. reheat lots of meals because the misses and I both work late. the stainless steel cleans very easily. love the high wattage of cooking power. HUGE interior. would highly recommend this product

I had to return the first unit before using it the first time due to a defect. The unit could have been damaged while en-route to the store. The second unit worked better than expected. I would buy the unit again. Love the inverter technology and controls. Have used it a few times and it does everything perfect.

Get the extended warranty no matter what type of microwave you buy. Gone are the days of a microwave that lasts 10 years. This Panasonic NN-SD987s (beautiful device - not cheap) displayed a H98 error code (filament blown - not user repairable) 16 months after purchase. I had read other people say the same thing (some had it happen days after purchase). The microwave has such an attractive look that I could not resist buying it, but thank goodness I had read the reviews that predicted the certainty of premature element failure. Yee Hah! I have the coverage. I will never buy a microwave again without it. By the way, when you read the "Extended warranty policy", they have the right to give you a cash card equal to the product "replacement cost." What that means is that when they do that your extended warranty is over -- it doesn't extend to the next item that you get to replace the item that is in the trash. RESULT: They don't need to cover your appliance for the full term that you purchased. You cannot fight it -- you just need to know those are the rules.

It's a great microwave except for this 1 VERY important feature, you cannot I repeat CANNOT change the dial to a specific number! Like say you wanted to put a slice of cake in for 16 secs IT CANNOT DO THAT!!!

I bought this less than two years ago and the spring that opens the door to the microwave doesn't work. You can push it, but nothing happens. So now I have to push with one hand and pull the door open with the other. I'm not impressed with this microwave at all. And for the price, I shouldn't have to set down whatever I need to cook just so I can use both hands to pry the door open.

Bought this Panasonic Microwave for $206. It worked for 14 mos and then the power went out. Our previous microwave was half the cost and lasted over 7 years. The worse part is when you call Panasonic Technical support, they want you to pay $9 just to talk to them. Not worth the money.

Tried to buy it in the store, but all area stores were out. They shipped it to my house instead. Got it out of the box and set up - pushed the button to open the door and heard a clank as it opened. Shut the door - made a funny noise as it shut. Pushed the button again to open the door - no luck. The door was stuck shut, and the button felt like it was broke. Took it back to the store, got my money back, and bought a different brand from a different store! The new one is great - this one failed.

My review is not on the product, but rather Best Buy’s deceptive business practices. I ordered and paid for a brand new microwave. There was an option to buy a refurbished one at a lower price but I did not choose that option. When the microwave was delivered it was obvious that it was refurbished. The box did not have the original seal. There were stickers showing it had been at a work location. When we opened the box there was grease and scratches on the unit. I immediately called and spent an hour on the phone, they did ultimately send out a new one and pick up the old one. However no apology, no compensation for the hour wasted and time waiting for a new unit. They said they would issue me a gift card when the unit was replaced. When I called them back they refused. Their response was that we sent you a replacement. Well of course you did. I paid for a NEW unit. It was my time and aggravation I should have been compensated for. This can only lead one to believe that this happens quite often. Are they honest mistakes?? Who knows? But one thing I do know for sure I will NEVER shop at Best Buy again and I warn all of you who are reading this to do the same. If you want used items go to a garage sale items will be much cheaper.

I have just gotten my third defective unit. The first two had non-working doors, the third had non-working electrical controls and display. In addition, it tripped the circuit breaker. My wife wanted this oven because she likes the mechanical buttons. I'm fed up with this thing. I will be looking for an oven from another source. I notice that this model is no longer on the Panasonic website. I suspect that it has been discontinued.

This microwave worked wonderfully - for 360 days. I didn't get any dreaded codes, it would just stop working after 3 seconds. SO - I took it to Panasonic's warranty reps here in Syracuse - United Radio. After 3 weeks, two reps from Panasonic saying they would fix it and then being accused of "damaging and abusing" the unit by United Radio, I'm stuck with a unit that won't work. No - I didn't abuse or damage it - I USED the stinking thing. The last microwave I had was a SHARP and it lasted for 10+ years. I didn't use the Panasonic unit any differently than I did the SHARP. I have since been told to take it to another rep. We'll see what happens next. I will tell everyone about my horrible experience with Panasonic and United Radio and won't EVER buy another Panasonic thing again.

This is, hands down, the best microwave I've ever used. Super quiet, cooks extremely well. Worth every penny.

Very nice microwave but the sensor cook could have better menuing

This worked well and I liked the features except that you can not use the timer while you cook. The bad news is, it completely stopped working in less than 6 months. We had to bring it into the store and they ship it to the approved repair place. That is good, but we were supposed to hear from the shop to let us know when approximately it would be ready. It is now about 2 weeks and we have not heard from them. If it is a fuse, why cana't it be designed so we could replace it ourselves?

I liked the performance of the microwave and the unique dial for setting the time. It worked very well for 14 months. 14 months to the day after I ordered it, the microwave suddenly stopped working.

This was my 2nd Panasonic microwave...have one at work...this one stopped working after 18 months...Panasonic tech service was not any help...the one at work just broke too...same problem as mine...just lasted a little longer...Panasonic needs to understand that appliances at this price... should last longer then 18 months....in reading other reviews it looks like they have a repetative design flaw problem...when will they decide to fix...probably after customers like me stop buying any Panasonic products....I have stopped and switched to other brands for all my electronics needs.
