Worked great for 11 years. Going to get another today.

We have had this microwave for a little over 2 years and now it has a problem with closing the door. After searching on the internet, now we found that this is a common problem with this model of Panasonic microwaves. We replaced a sharp microwave that we used for 8 years with no problems. This Panasonic lasted a little over 2 years. On the internet it says we need to get a microwave service place to replace a part of the door switch. We decided to go back to a Sharp microwave instead. Bought this Panasonic because of the special defrost feature.

Replacing even though still works. Takes two minutes to heat water. Must open door to set timer. Timer must be set manually. This means holding finger on button 1 second at a time till reach two minutes is reached or do in 30 second intervals. Therefore 10 second melt butter option not easily available. Defrost does not easily work. Owned many microwaves and this is by far slowest and hardest to use. The rounder comes off wheels constantly.

I had high hopes for this microwave because the Panasonic over the range 1000W microwave at previous house was so good. The major problem we are having is it cooks everything too hot: popcorn burns, reheated dinners too hot to touch, cooked items cook too much. You can tweak settings to get things right, but that defeats the point of one touch, and you have to remember all the tweak settings for each item! I brought it to an authorized repair center. I bought a $40 GE 700W @ BB to use while Panasonic being repaired. It cooks popcorn (Orville 3.5 ounce) perfect. It reheats perfect. Why does a $40 microwave outperform this one, which cost me over $200 at the time? So did the repair center do anything to fix this? They say they can't. No adjustment options. Panasonic, please issue a technical bulletin on this and fix it. I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

This works great and I really like the power inverter.

Bought one, it died after a year. Bought another, it died after 2 years. Loved the dial and performance. Magneto in this item is substandard.

bought it though several reviews were warning that it DIES within few months but thought I WILL BE LUCKY and make it. Unfortunately, it died within 3 months, Panasonic gave me hard time. I have to wait for authorization letter to come in mail in 10 business days, take the microwave to a service center and then wait for the service center to decide what to be done. I decided to throw it away and buy a new one. NO Panasonic anymore, there microwaves don't last more than few months.

I never owned a microwave that rusted out just past the warranty period. Now I have! The rust is appearing around all the vent holes. I have plenty of space around the outside of the microwave for ventilation, Also, the cooking timer only allows times in intervals of 10 seconds. Some things are over-done with an extra 10 seconds and under-cooked with 10 seconds too little cook time.

Labor cost to replace is close to cost buying new.

PURCHASED A PANASONIC TO REPLACE AN OLDER ONE THAT LASTED AROUND 5 YEARS. THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO BE BRAND LOYAL. NOW I GET A CODE THAT SAYS THE MAGNATRON IS SHOT.....MEANING THAT IT IS DEAD! NOW BEST BUT WILL JERK ME AROUND AND INSIST I MAIL IT TO THE MANUFACTURER AND WAIT TO GET IT BACK. THE WAIT TIME AND THE COST TO SEND IT IS NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE TO GO THROUGH.....BEST BUY SEEMS TO SELL A LOT OF PRODUCTS THAT FAIL AND THE WARRANTY IS MORE TROUBLE THAN IT IS WORTH DOING.

Bought this unit because it is beautiful and the most expensive. I thought that meant it would be the most durable. It worked for less than 9 months then displayed "H97" which means the magnetron went dead.. Now panasonic wont repair it for free. They says it is no longer under waranty cause i waited for more than 4 months before calling them. My advice, look elsewhere for a quality product. This is the same error everyone has been complaining about.

I had a similar Panasonic table top microwave with inverter technology for about 2 years before it gave up. The adjustable power setting on these microwaves is great, and the controls and appearance as well. All of a sudden, the microwave stopped working. Microwaves tend to last a long time, so this is very unexpected, especially given that these ones are at the high end of the price range.

This Panasonic looks great and cooked great for the 5 months it worked! Today I got the H98 error code, which means the unit blew either a magnetron or the inverter. It's too expensive to fix and the warranty is finished, so I guess I'll just think of it as flushing $200 down the toilet. C'est la vie. I'll never buy Panasonic again.

The microwave works wells cooks fast and defrost without cooking the meat. It lasted 2 years and 5 days really disappointed, feel it should have lasted several more years. I will be purchasing another brand.

Door knob jams frequently, especially when the air temperature is on or below 70F. Many days I am unable to open the door, thus unable to heat my food. What good is a microwave oven that can't be opened.

I did a lot of microwave research before I purchased this one. I also bought the 4-year warranty on it. It was a good idea, because this is arguably the best microwave at this price point, and it won't even power up after 2 months. Up until it broke (after very light use), it worked very well. I may look for a different one anyway. I know it's probably just dumb luck that I bought a dud, but it certainly doesn't really help my confidence in Best Buy's merchandise. I simply cannot recommend this microwave, because it died after only 2 months.

I like my old model better, and not just because I don't like change.

Bought this microwave less than two yrs. ago,light use,and door won't close. Found the problem through the Internet, and it's poor quality on the frame. The piece of metal that holds door lock is flimsy and bends, door won't close, there is no way to repair it. I'm a handy man and has open up the unit several times to bend the piece of metal back. Do not buy Panasonic your door will go out. To bad because it has great features.

I was looking at this microwave at Best Buy today. What concerned me is the push-button (to open the door) did not work well on the display unit. That's important to me because the display model gets a lot of use (not cooking, of course). Watch out on this one.
