This is replacing almost same model we got 20+ yrs ago. I love the size of it! The only thing that needed replaced with older model in all that time was the spring that was behind the door open button. Only reason for replacing was because it finally stopped turning on. The only thing different about this one is the turn knob instead of number panel. If you are attracted to this buy it! You will not be sorry.

This Panasonic NN-SD987SA was a very powerful 1250w unit . My old one was 1300w and cooked slower than this 2.2 cu in unit . I am very satisfied .

Bought as a part of kitchen remodel. While it is a large microwave for a counter (little space to put items down in front of) its easy to use and powerful! Love the reheat option and cleans off easily.

This microwave is great! Don't hesitate to get this model. We called the company as we were looking lfor an over the stove model. They said all stainless steel versions are over the stove capable. It works really well. The operation has different button input than a simple model might , but once you decode it a little it it's very good. Very easy to install,very simple to use, yet has very sophisticated controls as well.

This is the second time I purchased this model. I first purchased it about 7 years ago and then it died. I purchased it again so it wasn't that bad of an experience. I think I calculated the lifespan and the cost and it turned out to be a like a nickel a day. I typically just use the basic functions of setting the time and cooking but occasionally I use it just as a timer and when defrosting I dial down the power. It does a great job at those items and the dial verses pressing buttons is convenient. Over the years the glass dish has broken a few times from it hitting the sink when washing or smacking it with a dish. It's not cheap to replace either. It performs well though

This microwave replaced our last Panasonic that was still running well except the door latch spring broke. This new is just as good except it does show more fingerprints on the exterior

This microwave cooks fresh and frozen vegetables to perfection! Corn on the cob was the best! Easy to use with plenty of quick-use settings. Great purchase!

Best microwave I’ve ever owned. Heats up food well and easy to clean.

After two months of use we are very happy with this unit. The sensor reheat function works quite well without overcooking. Our previous unit was a Sharp Carousel 1200 watt which worked well for 12 years. The new Panasonic is 1250 watts but I think the "inverter technology" makes it considerably more powerful, so cooking times and / or power settings need to be adjusted compared to our previous unit. We also like the nice clean look with the dial instead of a touch pad with numerals.
