Great features with a lot of space and power. I didn't have a problem with the door latch except for that it was stiff and made enough noise to wake the dead when closing the door. Great power while it lasted however it only lasted 11 months.

It worked fine for just under two years under normal use. Then the door latch broke.

I purchased our two Panasonic microwaves 18 months ago for the company lunch room. I replaced the first microwave a month ago and now I'm out to purchase a replacement for the second microwave. Both failed after only 18 months. The problem for both of them is the door locking mechanism malfunctions and prevents the door from locking or turning on. The locking mechanism, located in the body of the microwave next to the control panel, is made of cheap plastic that soon breaks. I will not be purchasing another Panasonic, but if you do make sure you buy the warranty.

This is a great microwave as long as you don't want to make popcorn. I would rate this product a zero it I had the choice. I bought this microwave and tried making popcorn. The popcorn bag only pops to about 3/4 full or less and the popcorn is not light and fluffy. I had a 15 year old Sharp that would make the popcorn light and fluffy and fill the bag full. I exchanged the microwave for a different one thinking it was just a bad unit but no such luck. Of course by the time I checked this one out thoroughly it was to late to return it. I talked with Panasonic about a refund and they basically told me to go fly a kite. They had no interest in making a customer happy for $140. They were very helpful in telling me how to make popcorn. I have been making popcorn since popcorn in bags was invented with great success so I had not interest in the cooking class. I tried the popcorn button, and just doing it by time and also by time at a lesser power with no luck. The problem is if you keep popping until there is a couple of seconds between the pops the popcorn burns but if you stop it early enough to not burn the popcorn you get a half bag of popcorn. After having this microwave for less than 2 months I am either going to sell this one or give it to Goodwill and let some other sucker deal with it. I am going back to Sharp.

Good - The power invertor feature. Cooks more evenly. Bad - The power level is selected by holding down the touchpad until you reach the desired selection. This takes longer, especially if you miss your target and have to start over. I also causes undo wear and tear on the touchpad. Ugly - The power level began scrolling on its own. The touchpad is now inoperable leaving the microwave unusable. Less than 18 months old, normal family use Panasonic is following the path of other classic brands by cheaping out on previous quality and leaving consumers disappointed.

Worked very well for 5 years, then up in smoke. Similar to many other comments on line. Less costly to replace than to repair.

This microwave only lasted 5 months. And it replaced a Panasonic that only lasted 4 months. I will never buy a Panasonic again. Even my appliance repairman agreed, telling me that Panasonic never lasts. And I don't recommend buying anything from walmart, and never get an extended warranty through walmart, all they do is turn you over to the manufacterer and let them deal with you.

Our Panasonic microwave broke only after using it for five months. Since we didn't buy the geek squad protection plan, we get to box it up and send it somewhere, as there is no Panasonic repair shop anywhere near us, and be without it for at least a week. The warranty to return it to the store was for 30 days. Wow. So glad Panasonic stands behind its product for an entire 30 days. Would not recommend this product or the company for that fact. Don't know why we can't take it to local repair shop to be fixed. Also don't know why we can't get a replacement until ours is fixed. Will NOT buy Panasonic again not because their product broke in such a short time, it's the way they treat their customers when it does break. I would like to see the owners of Panasonic go a week, or more, without a microwave and see how convenient it is for them.

Stopped working after one year. Makes clicking sound then shuts off when trying to operate the thing. Hmmm..I never knew that miceowaves were annual purchases. Too bad because it worked great before it called it quits.

The first one (same model) we bought sounded like a train, so we took it back and received this. The train should have beeen a warning. It was working fine then, all of a sudden, after 15 months, the oven died. The heat sensor was a good feature. It basically was an OK oven until this lack of quality turned it to an inoperable item for the trash.

Bought this unit as a replacement for a similiar unit that was over ten years old and just quit. Thought it easier for everyone in the office to have the same style. Unit perfomed well until the other day when the latch broke when the door was shut. I checked the other comments and apparently this is not unusual for this model. I'm not buying this unit again. Too many others to choose from to risk a problem.

Picked up the microwave this evening and when I unpacked it, found the door latch is malfunctioning and the door will not close. I will return it tomorrow and hope for a quick exchange. I had ordered this and guess i will have to wait several more days to get a replacement. Very disappointing. I have to respond to the statement, "I would recommend this to a friend: yes or no" to be able to post. I am clicking on yes just because I am hopeful that Best Buy will facilitate a quick exchange and this brand and model will fulfill my expectations based on good reviews of both Best Buy and this microwave.

I purchased this product from Best Buy in November of 2011. In January of 2013, it stopped working. Just a little over a year and it died, non fixable which left me having to spend another 200 on another microwave. I did not buy an extended warranty but I do expect Best Buys products to last more than a year. Completely frustrated and I will not buy Panasonic again. Wish I could go back and get a refund now.....

It should have lasted more than 2 years of occasional use, but it did not. A relative purchased one also, it went out. Met a customer at the store looking for a replacement unit- he had a panasonic that quit also. Microwaves Cost more to fix than to replace.

The warranty is useless because you still have to pay for labor. This micro worked great till it didn't any more. The features were good and it defrosted and heated up well. But to replace it after less than 2 years makes it not worth it. I will be buying a different brand next time. No more Panasonic for me.

Bought this microwave in July 2015 and it completely died in April 2016. It is still within the 1 year warranty but will have to be shipped three states away to be serviced. Also noticed that I may be supplied with a refurbished unit instead. So I don't expect the quality to be any good either. I had two previous microwaves. Both were other brands and lasted 15+ years each. BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK!!!!!!

Made-to-fail junk. 2 died in under 2 years. I gave 1 star because I can't give 0 stars. ventilation slots on the bottom have no screen, so any bug that comes by can move in permanently (there's no way to clean them back out).

I agree with other reviewers on this - bad quailty, had one when we bought our house. It went out and we replaced it with the same model. Big mistake, now two years later we'll switch to another brand. This unit has terrible quality.

Within the first six months, the interior light burned out, which wasn't a big issue. In a little over three years of using this model microwave oven, it died and cannot be repaired. (My previous Emerson microwave oven lasted for 29 years, so needless to say I was not happy that this one didn't last long.) Luckily I had purchased the extended warranty, and hopefully the replacement oven will last this time.

I have had this micro wave less than three years and it is burned out and needs to be replaced. Light use.
