We had a previous wireless system where the answering machine broke. We bought this one just to replace the answering machine part - we just turned off the answering machine function on the old one. But we still use the phones from the old one, so we didn't need to buy a lot of extension phones. But we do like these extension phones better.

Panasonic still the best option

Oh well - trying again with a new set so Panasonic still looks like the most solid choice. Yea, these phones are great. Good solid feel and all the necessary features. Others may be a few bucks cheaper, but that's what they are - cheaper.
