Posted .We are sorry to hear about the concerns you are having with the telephone. Sounds like the battery in the handset is not working properly. We suggest that you reach out to the Panasonic Encompass Parts department to inquiry about new battery that is recommended for the telephone.

This phone has a few other features which I am still learning to use. I like the alot. The numbers digital answering system. It is easy to see when there pare messaes and how many there are. The numbers are a little larger which I like and they are easu to use. I also like the fact that when you pick the phone up out of the charger it lights up so you can see the keys if you are in a darken place.

Good cordless handsets

These are quality phones with good sound and reception. My only complaint has to do with the lack of instructions/clarity about set up. I was able to figure out how to set up the functions that were most important to her but others may need/want to use some of the more complex features.
