There is absolutely nothing in the instructions saying it is a Dect 6.0 and nothing on Panasonic's website saying this model is a Dect 6.0. Dect 6.0 cordless phones are just much better because they operate on a different frequency and get much less interference. Also, the call block is a complete joke. I set the call block to block unknown/anonymous callers who don't have their number displayed on the caller ID. Yet, these calls go through just fine and ring your phone. Say you blocked a person's number, but all they have to do is block their number (*67) and it will ring your phone. I am returning this phone because of these issues and also because it had so much static. I am so disappointed as I mistakenly thought Panasonic actually made good products.

This is a DECT telephone system, please check the specifications: https://help.na.panasonic.com/answers/features-and-specifications-telephone-cordless-model-kx-tgd830-kx-tgd832-kx-tgd833 . The call block feature has three options: manually block a single number, manually block a range of numbers or block unknown CID (which will block calls that have no phone number, such as private numbers or out of area). To do so, please go to CALL BLOCK > Block unknown CID > SELECT > go to ON > press SAVE. -M

This one does the same thing. Maybe you need to be far away frm the computer and other appliances but it's just a pinch better than the other brand I returned. Disappointed.

If you are hearing static on your phone, reception breaks in and out or experiencing humming noise on the background while using your cordless phone, it might be caused by a transmission or electric interference, noise can also come from the phone lines, it would be best to locate the source of the interference first and a simple method of determining this would be to verify if static is heard on your other set of phones aside from the Panasonic. Relocate or plug the Panasonic phone to a different area where there is less interference. If you are subscribing to DSL/ADSL service, it is recommended to use a DSL filter. Most DSL/ADSL service providers would have the filters available for their subscribers, you may also check out your local electronic stores for availability. -M

Posted .Thank you for your review! The handsets of this model do not have a message indicator, only the base unit does. As for the batteries, please try to switch batteries with a working handset. This will help determine if the issue is with the batteries or the handset. If the handset works with different batteries, it's possible that they need replacement. Compatible replacement batteries are the HHR-4DPA model. -M

Connection issues

I needed a phone that was an extension of an existing system. This one requires both a phone connection and an electrical connection. My prior extra phone only required an electrical connection for charging. This is really inconvenitent.
