For such a small unit, the sound is very impressive. You have over the air radio, Bluetooth, USB drive and CD as options for audio source. Having Bluetooth capability essentially gives you the power to steam anything from phone, tablet or laptop. Really the world is your source. There is an external radio antenna cable that has a snap in connection. The remote is very basic and easy to navigate. The range is pretty good for the remote. Bluetooth give you about 30 feet from the source until some cracking from connection being lost. I have Bluetooth out device that allows me to stream audio from my tv as well. This makes for a pretty inexpensive home entertainment solution. The speaker cord is probably about 10 feet, but you can splice additional cable if needed. There are two speaker jacks on the back for left and right. Simple bare cable speaker connection, so you could conceivably add additional speakers. Not sure the 20w would handle much larger speakers though. Overall, we are very happy with the system. We have it set up in our Florida room by the pool. I dropped one star, I can't explain why, but 5 stars seemed to be high for the functionality without an aux input or connection for other equipment like TV.

    Panasonic CD Stereo System

The Panasonic CD Stereo System comes with a CD player and a built-in FM receiver. The player can also play from a USB or via Bluetooth. The power supply for the unit is a standard house electric plug. There are two wired speakers with the unit. The speakers are attached via a left and right wire clip system on the back of the unit. The FM antenna attaches to the back of the unit via a push to clip wire. The electric cord has a ferrite core separate from the cord. This attaches within 5 cm to the back of the unit. The ferrite core must snap to hold it shut. It can be removed by pulling up on the clips. For the ferrite core to properly work you need to closely follow the set-up instructions. The remote control takes one AA battery that is not provided. The FM radio channel selector is completed by pressing the up and down arrow buttons to move the channel either up or down. To jump to the next available channel, you need to hold the button down. I could not locate and preset features for the radio. These same buttons are utilized for skipping tracks on the CD. The CD player functions are the industry standard. The playback via FM was a bit scratchy until I installed the ferrite core. This reduced some of the noise but not all. Playback through the CD, USB, and Bluetooth were better. For the size of the speakers and unit I was pleasantly surprised by the playback. This unit is portable and can be moved anywhere you have access to power without any problems. The only problem I had was a user error setting up the Bluetooth. A quick recheck of the instructions fixed the problem.

    Panasonic Easy-to-Use Modern Sound System

Panasonic Model # SC-PM270PP-K is a modern stereo system with 2) separate speakers that is ideal for a bedroom or a small office. It weighs only 8.2 lbs, yet it offers sound quality that is crisp & clear. Total power output is 20 Watts: 10 Watts / Channel. An integrated CD player is great for playing all of the tunes in your collection from yesterday. The radio provides very good FM reception. The included remote control provides complete access to this stereo; simply add batteries to the remote (not included). My favorite feature of this Panasonic Stereo is Bluetooth. The Bluetooth on this stereo is amazingly easy to connect to your phone or other device. Since my grandson will be the primary user of this stereo, the fact that Bluetooth connection is effortless is a huge benefit. Dimensions: Height: 8.8 Inches Width: 16.1 Inches Depth: 9.1 Inches This stereo has a USB Type A Port located in the front to enable plugging in a USB drive as another music source. Sound can be fine tuned by the bass & treble controls, as well as by several Eq presets. The Bass Boost performs the traditional "Loudness" compensation that produces enhanced bass response at low to modest overall volume levels. CONCLUSION: This Panasonic is an excellent music source for a small office or a bedroom, where crisp sound quality at a modest listening level is desired.

I was looking for a small, simple stereo for my backroom. Something not too large that I could play my old CDs on. It’s a large room, 600 square feet. The Panasonic Compact Stereo came along so I thought I’d give it a try. I am pleasantly surprised with how good this sounds. I played an old Rod Stewart CD, several FM stations (classical, country, classic rock). I found a lecture series I’ve been meaning to listen to on an USB thumb drive. They all sounded crisp and clear. Pairing with my phone via Bluetooth was quick and easy. I was impressed with how clearly I could hear the words in the lecture. Setup was surprisingly easy. One AA battery (not provided) was needed for the remote control. Speaker wire easily connected to the receiver. FM antenna plugged right in. Connect the power cord and that’s all there is to setup. The Panasonic Compact Stereo comes in a 20 or 80 watt version. I have the 20 watt version. Not sure what more power would add. Pretty perfect at 20 watts.

The Panasonic PM270 compact stereo system would, if not for the inclusion of Bluetooth, easily be mistaken for a product from the mid-1990s. That's not necessarily a bad thing though! While Bluetooth speakers and soundbars and the like are great, there's something to be said for a traditional stereo system, especially with a resurgence in interest in physical media. And for those with CD collections who want a small bookshelf stereo that sounds good and doesn't take up much space, this has got you covered pretty well. The stereo system has radio (FM only), CD, and Bluetooth connectivity. I would've liked an auxiliary 3.5mm jack as an option as that would've expanded the versatility. Out of the box, setup is really easy for the most part: attach the speakers (simple spring clips; the speaker wires are fixed length) to the base, attach the FM antenna, and power cord (it includes a wraparound ferrite core to put the cord through). Just about everything can be controlled via the simple remote (one AA battery required), so you don't have to get up and manually adjust anything if you don't want. Bluetooth pairing was also very easy--I had it up and running with a Spotify stream from my Android phone in seconds. At 20 watts (10Wx2), it's not going to blow you away, but it fills a small to medium sized room very nicely with sound. It sounded actually better than I expected--I could push the volume up without too much harshness much higher than I'd have thought. People love very compact speakers like a lot of modern small Bluetooth portable speakers, but physics remains undefeated: a larger speaker box just generally sounds better. Does this compare with my main stereo with huge tower speakers? No, of course not. Would it fill the role of listening to the radio, streaming music, or playing CDs in a small living room or office? It's perfect for that.

This is a 'cute' little stereo system. Equipped with a CD player and FM radio (and Bluetooth), it sort of feels like this this is meant for another era. But it is 2024, and this small system has its place in the world. The unit is very light and made entirely of plastic. Honestly, it feels a bit cheap. I'm not even sure how they made it this light. It has a basic display on the front, which is really dim. You'll be hard-pressed to see it in a bright environment. The volume knob is very stiff, and it just feels like plastic sticking to plastic. It's not a nice feeling knob at all, but it does what it needs to do (adjust volume). The buttons on the front are fine though. The remote requires 1 AA battery, which oddly isn't included. The remote has a necessary "setup" button, which lets you change some settings, though you'll have to download the full manual using the QR code in the quick setup manual. You can set a clock, and then set an auto on/off timer, so you can have it turn on and off at set times. It also has a couple other things like equalizer presets. The speakers have a permanently wired speaker cable that's only roughly 4ft long. That means if you want to position these further away, you'll have to twist on longer speaker cable onto the ends of the built-in ones. Not really ideal. Sound quality is decent though for this little thing. It's not knocking down walls or anything, but for a small office, it's actually quite nice.

The 90s called and asked for their stereo back, but I'm not giving it up. To be honest, my desire for a stereo system was more nostalgic than practical. Nowadays, Bluetooth speakers combined with all the digital music options have made traditional stereo systems largely obsolete. Additionally, we no longer have a way to play the massive CD cases that we each accumulated in our teens and twenties. However, my wife and I were thrilled to be able to listen to our CD collection again. The 20W Panasonic Stereo System is small, with the speakers standing at about nine inches tall and the stereo being a few inches shorter but having a depth of about eight inches. It was a perfect fit for our dining room shelf. The design is reminiscent of traditional stereos, made of plastic for the stereo component and particle wood for the two box speakers. The setup is straightforward, requiring only the connection of the speakers and the am & fm antenna. Although the 20W(10W+10W) per speaker is not going to shake the walls, it gets loud enough to thoroughly enjoy. The unit produces good highs and decent lows. The Bluetooth connection is easy to set up, and we have not had any issues with connectivity within our home. The remote is compact but thick enough not to get lost on the couch. Overall, I am pleased with the 20W Panasonic Stereo with CD, Bluetooth, and Radio. It performs beautifully, and it's a fun conversation piece.

Pro: Lightweight and small form factor Plays CD, bluetooth, radio, and files on USB Con: Audio This is a nostalgia device, essentially shrinking down old stereo systems from the 90’s to a lighter and more manageable size while adding some modern features like bluetooth connection and being able to play files from a USB drive. The audio quality is what you would expect from small 2lbs speakers, which unfortunately isn’t that great. It gets the job done for what it is, but it’s muddy and weak. Cranking them past 50% and the audio starts to get worse, but it does get loud. Out of the box, the audio was bass heavy making the overall audio quality poor. After messing with the preset EQ, the “Clear” setting with the treble turned up a bit sounded best to me. Operation is simple. CD and radio worked as they should and connecting bluetooth to stream Spotify from my phone was straightforward. Diving deeper in the setup menu definitely felt old school as you’re cycling through the one line LCD display. There’s audio settings with the EQ presets, bass, and treble adjustment. Unexpectedly there’s timer settings to schedule times to turn the system on/off. For what it is, a simple throwback to older stereo systems, it’s fine. It’s a nice blend of old and new. For people that want to play CDs and listen to on-air radio, it’s there, but there’s also bluetooth connectivity to stream music from another device. Speaker quality isn't all that great, but it gets the job done.

Panasonic stereo system with CD Bluetooth and radio 20 watt black is a compact but surprising HIFI system. I got it for my guest room, but I immediately wanted to put it in my room. I was a lil bummed out that it only had an FM tuner, but when you're in your bedroom relaxing, you won't miss listening to podcasts or news. I have a collection of backup CDs that I made a long time ago. While they may not be compatible with this system, it's not a deal-breaker. Thanks to its versatile Bluetooth connectivity, you can still enjoy your favorite tunes from your phone, ensuring a wide range of media options. It also includes a remote that helps you keep the party going without getting up. This black beauty looks very good in almost any room of your home and sounds outstanding. It does not have extreme bass, but it has a very good bass response otherwise. It's no-frills, but it gets the job done with 20 watts of power with a clock. If you have a room that needs sound, check this one out.

This is such a wonderful blast that keeps the past alive in the present and caters to the future as well. Let me being by saying that a giant Panasonic three full speaker stereo system I got around 2 decades back in college, the plays both the Cassette format audio and the CD, is still churning out music in my basement. Panasonic products can survive the test of time and this should not be different but only time can tell that. This product has a much smaller footprint than the aforementioned stereo system. The design and build quality are all top notch. It has a snug fit on any shelf you choose and plays CDs! And the radio. And just to make sure that we cater to the present generation, it will seamlessly connect with your mobile devices and play your playlists with aplomb. The included remote (single AA battery) will help you to navigate through the controls and there are physical knobs and buttons that will do the trick as well. The speakers connect (Good old-fashioned Red and Black connectors) with main head with actual cables and you can arrange the system with some flexibility up your sleeve. Sound quality is great. The low tones are fine considering that it is only 20W but I was particularly impressed with the mid-tones in my testing. The antenna works well and the FM reception was spotless. You can also use the USB connection to play your own music list. All in all, this should be highly recommended for a nice throw-back and celebration of the past with an eye for the present.

Connecting the speaker wires to the system took me back to years ago when we had something similar to this but much bigger. I always get nervous with wires but the directions were good about being sure the red and black wires go into their respective areas and left and right were labled. The pictures with the directions were ok. It includes a QR code for more detailed directions and I found those to be more helpful. I struggled with the affixing the ferret core to the power plug. I had to read it over several times while looking at the illustration and I also googled it to be sure I was doing it correctly. The antenna was quick to attach. The included remote makes for great convenience in controlling this system. This stereo system comes with Bluetooth, USB drive, FM radio, clock and CD player. The sound level for this is good even when I went upstairs and then down the basement, I could hear at the higher levels. It also offers bass and treble but I didn’t notice much difference using them or not. The radio scan works well and picks up the same FM stations from my other radio. The usb drive, played my mp3’s with no issues. You can set the clock and also a sleep timer so it turns off at that time. The bluetooth works great as well, it picked up my Android, a couple of different iPhone’s and a laptop. They all connected and played just I expected. I was really enjoying this until I went to use the cd player. It was so sad and disappointing that the cd player isn’t working like it should. It was tricky getting it to accept the cd, read it, play and eject it. And sadly, the cd is still stuck inside and it won’t eject. I’ve tried to look at google for help and nothing is working so far. Most of the what I see talks about a putting a paperclip into pinhole beside the eject button or near the cd player but this cd player doesn’t have a pinhole. This is a cd that played well in our other cd player last night and ejected with no issues. So everything else works for me except the cd part.

Hi, Maddie! We're sorry to hear that your disc is stuck in the tray. Please try the following steps to potentially resolve the issue. Turn off the power to the unit and unplug it from the electrical outlet. Wait a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on to see if the unit resets and ejects the disc. Press the eject button multiple times to see if the mechanism can free itself and eject the disc. If these steps do not resolve the problem, please refrain from further attempts that might damage the disc or the player. Instead, contact our customer care department for further assistance. -M Panasonic

Nostalgia can often been an amazing thing as devices have become purely digital. In a world where the aspect of sitting in a living room and wanting to relax to some amazing tunes, the Panasonic CD stereo system aims to fill that role. I was intrigued when I saw this product because I have hundreds of CDs that I haven't been able to use since the industry transitioned to digital formats. Setting up this system was super simple just a few pieces and plugs and I was ready to put in my CD. I tried the Garth Brooks cd collection just because I wanted to be able to hear the highs and lows and see how clear the guitar strings were. I will say at first the Cd spinning was noticeable at the very first startup then it went away which makes me thing the lubricant and device was just getting the gears rolling and oiled itself right up. The sound: These speakers you shouldn't expect 2 grand stereo sound from, but surprising these produced very good base and clear highs. When the drums were struck it did give an audible thump but not like a sub thump. The CDs played very well, even ones which had some minor scratches on them. They didn't skip so that leads me to believe the laser is pretty good in this system. I was able to hook up my phone via the Bluetooth really quickly and was able to hold connection at almost 200 feet away before I noticed lil cut in and out from the signal. Overall this device is a great product for what it offers and allows the use of a medium that many have large collections of and a chance to get a pure sound from versus always digital media.

I just love this Panasonic stereo system! Don't let the 20W output fool you - this thing is dynamite in a compact form factor. There is a bit of a nostalgia factor in play here. Between the albeit smaller "stereo" appearance to the old school connection of the speakers via actual wires - it's a bit of a throwback feel, and I'm here for it! Once connected and setup, which was super easy and quick, I had the FM radio scan for stations. It picked up all the same stations I have programmed in my vehicle, so I call that a win. Each station played clearly and without issue. The USB port found the .MP3 files I had on an older thumb drive. These also played clearly and without issue. Luckily, I still have a hefty CD collection. I have played several CDs and all have performed flawlessly. No issues with skipping, ejecting, or stuck CDs. The Bluetooth connection found my iPhone 15 Pro Max and my Samsung S24 Ultra without issue. I have been able to play music from Spotify, Apple Music, and videos from YouTube. The sound is clean, crisp, and clear. The included remote is great and has also performed flawlessly. The overall sound quality is better than expected. Is this going to satisfy a true audiophile? No. But that is not who this system is designed for. This is a fantastic system designed for a bookshelf, nook, or other small space. It's great for turning on music to play in the background while you clean, perform household tasks, do homework, etc. The main level of my home is approximately 1200sf and this system has no issue completely filling the space. I would definitely recommend this system. It has far exceeded my expectations!

This is, as Panasonic advertises, a stereo system that can play CD, Bluetooth, FM, and digital sources. Out of the box, setup is intuitively simple (four wires that go in obvious places), but I think that anyone unfamiliar with even basic electronics setup would be very confused by the owner's manual. The manual is messy and difficult to follow. The system and speakers are very lightweight - the system feels unsubstantial (easy to break) and the speakers feel cheaply made. Aside from a sticker on the back, the speakers don't even show a Panasonic logo on the front. The included remote control requires a single AA battery which is NOT included - I can't remember the last time a company failed to include the battery for a remote. The remote is small and very confusing to use - there is nothing intuitive about the design that would guide your fingers from one use to the next. Panasonic has the development team to do so much better. Ultimately, though, this is a sound system - and the sound should ultimately dictate the recommendation of this device. And from this unsubstantial system comes a VERY unsubstantial sound. Music comes through as a thin sound with noticeable distortion. There is some ability to add/subtract bass/treble but I found the cheap equalizations always made the sound worse. I'm guessing that Panasonic launched this device (with a larger sibling with better specifications) to appeal to a population that values physical media (CDs)? Excluding the CD feature, there are SO many devices that you can buy in this price range that FAR exceed the sound quality provided by this system. And, strangely enough, the CD sound was just awful. I don't know how Panasonic could launch a CD-centered device that reproduces CD audio worse than all the other sources. So...I can't imagine who would benefit from owning this system. Any place I can imagine where this device was needed for anything other than quiet background music would benefit from checking out ANY other device. Any company with Panasonic's history and resources and scope of research and development should (1) be able to design an inexpensive sound system with WAY better specs than this one, & (2) should not risk damaging their reputation by releasing devices that fail to represent what they are fully capable of. This is a terrible system that should serve as an embarrassment to Panasonic. I can't recommend this to anyone for any conceivable purpose.
