I own the big brother to this unit, the DP-UB820 in my theater room and I love it. When my old Sony 4k player took a dump I replaced it with this on in my family room and I couldn't be happier. This looks better, and works better than the Sony ever did. If you still love spinning discs this is a great option. The picture and sound is always better in 4k on a 4k Blu-ray compared to streaming options.

This new player has a wonderful picture, and is easy to use. The UHD feature makes older video look better. I use this now more than my cable service.

The setup was flawless. The interface is detailed but user friendly. It is a very solid piece of equipment. I love it.

The technical capabilities of this player are excellent. The video and audio quality are exactly what I was wanting. The number of settings available make it very compatible with whatever your home entertainment setup may be. However, my only criticism is that the user interface looks like it is from a 1990s CRT TV, blocky and plain.

This is a great product with no issues after one month of use and very easy setup.

After upgrading to a new Sony 85 inch 4K tv figured it was the time to get a 4K Ultra HD BR player. Read a lot of reviews and narrowed it down to the Panasonic line as it has HDR/HDR+10 ability plus the HCX processor where you can fine tune the HDR picture which really adds some punch. It doesn't support Dolby Vision but for the price at BF this seems to fit the bill for me, may upgrade to the 820 model next year which does support DV, all in all very happy, 4K flicks look gorgeous! I will add I do not use it for streaming services so no comment there.

Hooks up fast to internet. Great picture. Looks nice.

Easy set up - good picture - plays old DVDs and new HD Blue Rays

This player replaced an Oppo. It's 4K image is gorgeous on my Epson projector. There's a setting that optimizes it for projector use. It doesn't have the built-like-a-tank chassis that higher priced players have but it's video output is in the top tier. When compared to my Panasonic DP-UB820 player, it's more expensive cousin, all it lacks are a few features that have no impact on it's high-end image.

This player was purchased after our older DVD player was found to be incompatible with our new TV. It was easy to set up and has great picture quality.

I bought this UB420 for 149.99 plus tax. Which was a great deal. I looked at the UB820 also. Then I watched a youtube video on these products. I learned that they both had the same features but the only difference was that the UB820 had Dolby Vision and the UB420 didn't. But the UB420 does have HDR 10. I couldn't justify paying that much more for the UB820 just because of that reason. I don't regret buying the UB420 at all. It has great picture quality.

It's very simple to operate. It automatically switches the TV to what is playing, so no need to mess with input. I dislike the Netflix button on the remote but pushing the play button switches the TV back to what is playing on the player. Did not play a home-burned disc.

I really love this panasonic blueray player it is 4k and it gives u the full 2160 4k resolution. Don't buy any other player, I tried like five didn't work like this one. Those other player say 4k but is up scaling and it's 1080p if u really want to get the best out of your TV and blueray player if u have a 4k TV is to buy a player that say full HD 2160p. Anything else u just wasting your money. This player is 2160p and the movies and pictures are jaw dropping. The only problem with the player is that is slow but u would love the quality and picture it come out of it.

I compared this to Sony X800M2 and this eked out on video quality. I compared it to older, high end gear like Oppo and Cambridge and this looked better. The 4k was super, but the 1080 up-conversion was jaw-dropping. I discovered it uses the same processors as the higher end 820 too so if you don't need all the extra stuff like different audio output, this is AMAAAAAZING value. There's nothing I know of better and better value at the time this player came out.

From VHS to DVD, and then on to Blu-ray, I have been a long time Panasonic fan. The best (tube) television I ever owned was a monster 32" Panasonic, and it was a great set. Now as I move into the 4K UHD realm, Panasonic is still an industry leader and a trusted brand. This 4K player is an excellent example of affordability, quality, and hopefully reliability that I have come to expect over the from Panasonic. To say that I like this player is an understatement. It does what I need it to do, and it does it well. Nice work Panasonic!
