Great 4k player with the added expense of dolby vision. Up-rez on blu-ray looks great and 4k looks fantastic.

I really didn't know how much i was missing out on using my PS4 and Xbox One X for disc playback. After watching a wide array of movies and tv shows both digitally and disc based, I'd have to say this pars great with my LG CX Oled! The upscaling for disc DVDs and Blu-Rays is really something to be impressed with by this player. Though normally DVD's definitely don't look 4k quality, I wasn't expecting that. It just helped smooth and enhance the image quality to what feels like 900p-1080p. Fantastic for some older movies I have that will most likely never see a rerelease. For 1080p, the movies feel almost 4k stream quality, if not better in a couple cases. Not to mention streaming Netflix through this player. Though i miss just waving the LG's magic remote at my choices, i have seen some color enhancement as well as a sharpened image on anything i have streamed through this device so far. Don't get me wrong, the image the tv can output through streaming services was nothing to snuff my nose up at, but somehow, it just feels better. Now I am no videophile...but I can't help but say color me impressed Panasonic! My biggest and only regret when getting this player, was not being able to purchase the ub820 for the splendor that is Dolby Vision. (netflix's list of dolby vision titles are the only i have experienced, but man oh man, the metadata is spicy!) I'll have to acquire that pretty little device down the road. In the meantime, if you are looking at this player, espcially if you have a HDR10+ device, dont hesitate. It has taken the 25-30 films and tv's without a hitch, and laughs at me for thinking otherwise!

Great Panasonic 4KBlu-player. I got a great price from Best Buy. I have it hooked up to my 65 in Samsung 4K QLED. Set up was easy and quick. I like that Its so compact. The 4K picture is amazing.

Even though streaming quality has become a lot better before if you are serious about video/audio quality physical media is still the best. Panasonic UHD player is among the best available in the market. What makes this player amazing is the HDR tone mapping which is specially important if you are using a projector. I've watched several UHD movies and have have zero issue with freezing or other issues that I've noticed with playing UHD movies on consoles. The only minor negative is that the player does not have any front display so cannot see if something is playing or paused. For that you have to move up to a higher model.

The Panasonic DP-UB420-K has worked great so far and has exceeded my expectations. Setup was quick and easy, and the player performs smoothly with both Blu-ray and streaming content. The 4K picture quality is outstanding with sharp detail and excellent color, and the audio quality is equally impressive. The menus are responsive, and the overall build quality feels solid and reliable. Overall, this is an excellent value for anyone looking for a high-quality 4K Blu-ray player.

Fast to start up and play, streamlined interface, quiet running. 4K picture is stunning, and upsampling of 1080p discs is superb - I didn't expect the difference between this player and the ~$100 Sony it replaced to be so dramatic, but it's definitely a better machine in every respect.

What a great Bluray player! Purchased for my ma for Xmas and it was perfect. Easy to connect with HDMI and it has a load of features that ma won't use but it connects to apps so you can stream directly from the box when connected to wifi. Cheers!

This replaced a Sony player that was 3 years old and broke. Same price range. The Panasonic has many more custom settings both for sound and video. It may not be for you if you like everything to be automatic. Great picture and sound! Very quiet operation and nice remote control only lacking backlights so you could see the buttons in the dark.

Panasonic - DP-UB420 - Streaming 4K Ultra HD Hi-Res Audio was easy to setup. Thankfully I had a spare high speed hdmi. At the time this player was cheaper than the other hi-res audio players. The biggest problem is ... the remote. The remote has a poor layout of buttons. The buttons navigation are situated too close to Netflix button and menus. Easy to misclick. There are some of the standard streaming apps. Doesn’t support Disney plus. I would recommend a separate streaming device. 4K blu-ray visually looks great. Quick loading too. The hi-res audio sounds fantastic when watching blu-ray and other media types.

Does everything you could hope for in a bluray player. Is relatively quiet and produces a solid picture! My only complaint is I wish there were more options on the menu (Disney+ etc)

Panasonic makes the best Blu-ray players on the market today, period. This one is an incredible value. The only thing it's missing from its more expensive siblings is Dolby Vision, front display, and a sturdier/heavier build. None of that mattered to me, so this was perfect for the price. The improvement from my Xbox One X is very noticeable. The HDR performance is superb on my JVC projector. Don't hesitate! Amazing picture.

Expect an older interface because it's not a new product. But what's important is that it gets the job done. Excellent sound and 4K upscaling. Very happy with this product!

If you're looking for a solid 4K player that does it all, this is the one to buy. It produces razor-sharp images and plays Blu-ray and DVD discs as well. It even up-converts DVDs to Blu-ray quality. It will even play 3D discs. This is a true wireless streaming player. Just find your network and add your password and you can stream many apps. My only complaint is that at this price point it should have had a time display on the front of the unit. Higher-priced Panasonic 4K players have this function. The Panasonic DP-UB420 is great way to view not only your 4K discs, but other formats as well.

one of the best 4k players out there. Image quality at the top with the best players. I also have the big brother 820. which I think is the best player around for the price. but this player and the sony x-700 are the best budget players you can buy. the 420 does not support dolby vision and the sony does. you will love this player.

This thing is great! It does everything I need and can be controlled from my TV remote. It doesn’t require an internet connection, doesn’t constantly ask me to update it, and can’t be bricked because the manufacturer drops support. Products like this aren’t supposed to exist anymore. Now, the interface does look like it’s 15 years old but anyone who cares about that probably gets disgusted by the thought of optical media anyway.

A 3rd 4k UHD for our home. We love physical media and needed another unit. 4K Blu-Ray provide the best experiences. This one does all of the Dolby products, Atmos and Vision as well as HDR10. It makes older Blu-Rays look fantastic as well. A very excellent player. It has APS for streaming as well including all of the major ones, Apple+, Netflix, Disney, Prime etc

I have several ones that I was able to get on sale. I have one connected to each of my 4K tv sets. They are easy to set up and use. Picture quality is excellent.

My wife and I absolutely love our home theater system. I am a man of very high standards. This Panasonic Blu-ray is out of this world. Picture is just gorgeous and was a breeze hooking up to our Denon AVR-X4700H. Coming over a entire SVS speaker system of a 7.4.3 setup driving Atmos height speakers. Not only does the Panasonic create a incredibly beautiful picture over a 65" Samsung OLED Television. Sounds absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this Panasonic Blu-ray player and give it a 10 out of 10 rating. I have owned several different Panasonic items. From Boom Boxes of the early 80's to 3 Television sets, stereo systems etc. Never once did I have any issues or problems with any equipment from Panasonic.

This blueray player works very well, easy intuitive set up, great picture quality. The only drawback is it only has Netflix, Amazon Prime, and YouTube streaming options and no ability to add other popular streaming services.

Reliable stand alone 4k Blu Ray player. Plays much better than my Xbox did. No Dolby Vision but shouldn't be a problem if your TV doesn't support it. What's the nice surprise??? Was open box model and it came with a free copy of Gran Turismo haha.
