I have a one and half year old and changing a disc became a pain so the thumb drive is easier. This unit can use 1tb thumb drive is great and i have 64gb with 11 movies so far.

Solid Fairly Basic Player

Finally Happy

I bought this Panasonic Blu Ray player after buying 2 Sony players. I returned both Sony players after much suffering with Sony tech-support. The Sony practically refused to be used for streaming media. This Panasonic plays movies AND streaming media flawlessly where Sony tech support insisted that I had a slow internet connection. Getting back to the Panasonic...I'm a happy camper and this player was half the price of the "other" players and fulfills all my needs.

Connecting to the Internet was very easy, and the menus are simple to use and customize. It has all the apps that we wanted (Amazon prime, Netflix, Hulu, and Pandora). We had issues with our Panasonic smart player freezing up during streaming, but we have had no issues with this Samsung model. It's also nice that we can just use 1 remote for our bluray player and tv.

Since her television is not a smart one like mine, she wasn't able to. She can now watch any of her DVDs and if she decides to start purchasing Blu Ray, she can watch those well, and of course I'll have to show her how she can access her Facebook account lol. Overall, not a bad price or purchase for an 82 year old!
