Picture looks blue on DVDs after using NETFLIX

Posted .We apologize for any inconvenience or dissatisfaction you may have experienced with your purchase of the system. Please ensure you put in a disc that the system can play. Change to a playable disc in case the one you were using was not playable. We also advise trying a reset by turning the unit on, pressing and holding [OK], the yellow button, and the blue button on the remote control at the same time for more than 5 seconds. POWER LED starts to flash, and “00 RET” is displayed on the screen. Press the right arrow repeatedly on the remote control until “08 FIN” is displayed on the screen. Then, press and hold [OK] for more than 5 seconds. Hope this helps! -C

Failed first night

Awesome Player
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Blu-Ray player is easy to use and very basic. The built in streaming wifi is great. Had problems linking it up with the wifi, but figured it out once I found specific MAC number. My issues with it are: an HDMI cord is not included, and therefore you need to buy one in order to hook this up to the TV. Also, Hulu is not one of the services included.

Very good player

It is much better than I thought, and it plays DVDs I burned of old family videos. Now I'm thinking about other buying another just in case. Through the years I have had many Panasonic products and I have never had a bad one.

It's small so it works for the limited space on the chest of draws. The set up was easy when programming the device. It's worth every dollar spent ... Great value!!!

I was using an older Roku before this, and I could immediately see a huge picture and audio quality upgrade while watching Netflix. It was a breeze to setup. Couple of issues: Netflix seemed to not stream as quickly as Roku, but it was stable once it started playing, and as mentioned above the quality was several times better. The second is this has only 1 HDMI output, no digital outputs. I realized this does not work for my setup as I need to hook up the player's audio directly into my AV receiver which only has digital SPDIF inputs, and my TV does not output SPDIF when it has HDMI plugged in which is a known issue with many TVs - and so cannot output 5.1 audio to receiver from TV. I have to return this for that reason only, or else I really liked this product.

Longtime Panasonic Customer: Somewhat Disappointed

I have owned two Panasonic Bluray players since then, and they have both been outstanding. The good: This player delivers excellent Bluray picture quality. What I'm used to with a Panasonic player. Also, Netflix video quality is very good (though that may take a little tweaking to get the right picture). Netflix streaming quality is better than the video quality I experienced with the Roku 2. The Bad: Netflix is extremely slow to load. The app itself doesn't take too long to load, but once you choose a movie to watch, it normally takes anywhere from 30 - 60 seconds to load that movie. By comparison, my old Roku 2 took 2-4 seconds, maximum. The difference is like night and day. Even my old Panasonic DMP-BD210 (which I replaced with this player), loaded Netflix much faster than this player. Finally, the selection of Apps is terrible, and there is no HULU Plus. I assumed that because my old Panasonic Bluray player from 2012 had Hulu Plus, then this newer model would have it as well. Generally speaking, companies keep the same features on newer models, and even add new features, right? Unfortunately, that is not the case with this one. My verdict: if all you do is watch Netflix and Bluray discs, then this player is fine (if you can live with the slow Netflix load times). If you want to watch more than just Netflix and Bluray discs, I strongly recommend a different player, or at the very least, buying an inexpensive streaming device to use as an add-on to this player. Truth be told, I don't need a gazillion apps and channels. But the combination of no HULU Plus, and the extremely slow Netflix slow times, are big drawbacks to this player.

As player seems ok, but no good for streaming.

For me, the WiFi is worthless, but it's possible that the problems are at least partly on the other end - I tried to use Miracast with my laptop, and this unit totally froze - I had to unplug it to get it to restart. Amazon Prime connects but won't actually stream anything, but that might be an Amazon issue, as they turned off connectivity with older units some time ago. Have not tried any of the few other available networks. Also - I bought this as Open Box "Excellent" but it was missing batteries and packaging materials to protect the unit. Don't have the energy to bring this back to the store; as long as the Blu-Ray player works for the occasional times I use it, it's ok.
