We bought this tv for our basement home theater. We use an av receiver with hdmi switching. It was delivered and we had it set up in 15 minutes. The picture is fantastic with great contrast and color. My son loves to play Call of Duty on his PS3 and says the realism and response is perfect. My family likes to watch movies and tv shows and the color and detail are excellent. We thought about the ST60 but have little interest in 3D at this time The tv has digital sound output via toslink and it puts out a 5.1 signal to our surround sound receiver when playing Netflix from its app. I was not sure if that would work till I tried it. If you have a bright room the tv is highly reflective so it would not look as good as it does in our basement but any tv will look better in a controlled light room. It was a great deal. I hate to see Panasonic ending plasma production. I am very happy I got one of the last ones.

It was worth the month's of research to go with this TV. What I wanted was a large 60 Plus Inch TV that had excellent picture quality and able to run some web app's like Netflix and Amazon. Also a TV that was under $1,500. I didn't think this was possible, but this TV exceeds those expectations. I was a little hesitant to go with Plasma over LED, but after reading all the reviews and even comparing my neighbors Samsung 55 inch LED, the TV Noticeably beats it not only in Picture Quality, but refresh rates. The one disadvantage is amount of light in the room. It is true that if the room has a lot of light from outside sources or even from lights within the room, there is more glare on the TV than LED. We mainly watch TV after 6pm which is a none factor. However I am a huge sports junkie and watching football, baseball, Tennis, Golf etc on the weekends during the day there is some glare from the two windows in my living room. I'm willing to forego this over the LED due to the benefits the TV provides and 95% of the time watching at night. If you want more Applications built into your TV then this could also be a con, but with Netflix, VUDU, Amazon and a couple others, then this is fine. We can watch any HD Movie available on the market any time with this TV. It also has DLNA option which after one month I'm just now ready to start looking into configuring and setting it up. With the extra money I saved on this TV I was able to purchase a better complete surround sound system AV reciever and higher quality HDMI cables. No need to go to the Movies anymore! It's great. Buy this TV if you love Movies, Sports, and primarly watch TV at night or if in a room with minimal incomming lighting. No need to go with a bigger screen or smaller. 65 is plenty and you'll love the extra size over 55 or 60 inch.

Great Quality HDTV for the Price

Panasonic Plasma HDTVs have always been top of the line when it comes to picture quality, but in years past that quality came with a high cost and burn-in issues. Now their TVs have fixed most of the issues with long-term burn-in and the price has dropped significantly. The S60 model offers no frills, but is a fantastic HDTV for the price. I was able to get the 65" for less than the 60" ST60 and decided to do so because I didn't need 3D and wanted the bigger screen. It's been a great set over the past few months and I wouldn't change a thing. Some people have issues with the glass screen reflecting everything, and it does reflect, but it's not as big of deal as I thought it might be. Just don't put it opposite from windows and try to keep your lamps away from directly opposite and you'll be fine. The apps are nice, although slow. There aren't a whole lot to choose from but the mots used things like Netflix are here. I find it quicker to run my AppleTV though. The only other downside is that there are only 2 HDMI ports, but I have a surround sound receiver with 5 more so that did not bother me. Overall this TV is well worth the price and a great TV to jump into the next generation of gaming consoles. Amazing picture quality, great sound, decent apps, this TV is awesome.

AMAZING TV for Gaming, Great TV for HD Cable / Sat

I bought 2 of these specifically for GAMING....To me plasma is far more superior then LED for gaming as its 600hz not 60 or 120 or 240hz...which means its between 1-2ms response time. The picture is crystal clear even with HD cable. If your looking for a TV for Gaming, Sports or Action movies I would strongly recommend this. The only problem I've had with this is that it only has 2 HDMI ports. I bought a HDMI splitter for $59.99 and that fixed the problem. Other then that I have been very happy with these TVs......JUST AN FYI...IF YOUR PLAYING VIDEO GAMES I WOULD RECOMMEND SITTING AT LEAST 10ft AWAY..AS YOUR PERIPHERAL VISION CANNOT VIEW IT ALL AY ONCE WITHOUT MOVING YOUR EYES

After 8 years, I still came back to Panny's plasma when buying a TV for my new apartment. I chose this model because I don't particularly require 3D at this point, and I don't require my living room TV to have the sophisticated online features that I normally obtain with my computer. I also am an avid movie watcher, so I usually watch TV with the lights either dim or out completely. So this TV fits the bill, and BB had it at a compelling price. The fact that it only has 2 HDMI ports is not a problem for me, since I use a 4-to-1 HDMI switch that can be picked up for about $25. The TV ships with "Standard Mode" with CATS in the "ON" position, so out of the box, the TV looks excessively dark and depressing. Make sure you turn off CATS for ALL of the viewing modes, and immediately select either Home Theater or Cinema, assuming you are too lazy or pressed for time to configure the TV to your liking. (Out of the box, the Cinema mode happens to be fairly close to David Katzmaier's custom configuration settings listed on CNET's HDTV blog). One thing I will say, and this is probably more of a concern regarding ANY 65" TV (not just Panny), is that a 65" TV seems to exacerbate the visibility of any artifacts in the original TV program, whereas such artifacts are not visible in a smaller TV. I bought the 50" model of this series for my parents, and I feel their picture just looks crisper and flaw-free, probably because their smaller size minimizes the visual defects. But I'm still very happy with this purchase.

Picture quality is stunning right out of the box just in standard mode. There is no LED TV under $2000 that can match to this TV's picture quality, especially at an 65" screen. I got this TV for $1,398 through price matching at best buy. The best bang for buck electronic I may have ever purchased. The tv has a mirror finish to it, so consider your lighting. I have 2 windows, and 2 recessed lights, when sun is shining on my windows, I do need to close the blinds to get the best viewing experience. It comes in a very large box, so unless you have a large cab pick-up truck, you will probably need this delivered. My delivery process was very smooth from best buy. I highly recommend wall mounting this TV. The 65" screen will make you feel like your in a theater with its stunning picture quality. I bought and mounted a 2.1 Ch sound bar with a wireless sub woofer along with the TV, so I do not use the in built speakers enough to give you a helpful review. If you game online, or play fighting style games, the input lag is a low 34MS on this TV. It's a great choice for games. The only downside is that it only has 2 HDMI ports. I have 400 hours on my TV now, and it's been calibrated by geek squad at 305 hours of use. As time goes by, the TV only gets better. My movie watching and gaming experience has changed forever.

Got this TV about a month ago. Used primarily for video games and movies. Very few complaints but do want to list the few there are: 1) Won't stay connected to the internet. Our router is in the same room as the TV and we're still constantly having to reconnect it to the internet. I'd say about 2 of every 3 times we turn it on. Not a horrible thing, just irritating. We can always fix that by hard wiring it to our internet, it's just not convenient for our layout (I don't like seeing cords go across rooms). 2) After only a month of play our health bar from AC3 has burned into the bottom left corner. It's only visible when it's on a white screen (which almost never happens) but still annoying. And something that can be fixed by taking advantage of our warranty. Still...it's only been a month. I'm surprised that it took so little to burn an image in. Those are really my only two complaints (and the only reasons it didn't get 5 stars). My husband and I love our TV. We didn't need a lot of internet features since we have other ways of accessing the full internet, etc thru the TV. The Netflix feature and buttons on the remote are a beautiful thing. Much easier than using a console. I'm also very surprised at the sound on this TV. It's a lot better than I'd expected after reading some of the reviews. Anyway - overall a great TV for our purposes. We mostly play video games and watch Netflix and it does both of those perfectly and with amazing clarity.

Outstanding picture and easy to set up. I truly can't imagine why anyone would be unhappy with this TV if they have other ways to connect to the Internet. Bought Sound bar with TV, but actually think I would be happy without it. For the money, I do not believe there is a better TV out there, and the picture on this TV is superior to other, more expensive HDTVs we considered. I hear Panasonic plans to stop producing Plasma TVs. Really dumb decision because plasma pictures are definitely better than LCD / LED. I do not plan to play games on this TV. If you do, plasma may not be your best choice.

Great value for the money. Quality is excellent. Sound is decent though if you're an audiophile and want better sound you'll have a soundbar or something to go with it. I would have liked an extra hdmi input (I have HD cable, bluray and Xbox) had to hook up Xbox with component cables. (Or can buy an HDMI splitter from amazon for like $10) Has a cool auto dimming feature which dims down the brightness when the room gets dark so as to not strain your eyes. I found this feature got a little too dim for my preference so I just turned it off. Also has cool iPhone app to act as an extra remote through your wifi connection. That's cool! Another cool feature is you can "swipe" photos or video from your phone right onto the tv screen!!! Really love this tv and if your thinking 65" is too big, it really isn't. I sit approximately 7-8 feet from the screen and it is not overpowering at all.

Picture quality and price are excellent for this 65" TV. The only negative thing I have to say about it is, it only has 2 HDMI inputs. Customize the picture settings using Consumer Reports recommended settings. With these customized settings, the colors won't be as vivid, but show the true color as they are. Sports will look like you are at the game, not watching a video game.

Buy this TV to get excellent picture quality and size at a fantastic price. Brightness is lacking a bit in sunlight, and you aren't paying for 3D which is a waste of money anyways....however built in Netflix and the like looked like a good feature. That is until I tested it out and found that none of the built in smart tv apps work at all. Not a big deal if you use an Xbox or something similar for your content. Just don't expect this thing to have any useful software, because it doesn't.

This is a great TV. I bought it because I was told a Plasma TV was best for gaming. I purchased the 65" and it was huge. It was very heavy which made the instillation difficult. I also had to make sure the furniture it was placed on could handle the weight. However, once all of these things were in place, the TV became super enjoyable. I loved that the remote has a Netflix button. We stream a lot of TV shows and movie and it's internet access is great.

I bought a 46" Panasonic Plasma HDTV two and a half years ago and absolutely love the picture and ease of use. I have not had even a small problem or issue so I wanted to get the same HDTV, only larger (65") for our new home theater area in our basement and still love it! It was a great value!

I replaced a 50 inch Panasonic Viera 720p with this new purchase, so I had high expectations and was not disappointed. Most of my viewing is Blue Ray movies, Discovery / National Geographic and Sports; those all are so bright, clear and sharp that I am amazed every time I watch. There's a little more reflected glare, but I watch mostly in a dark room so I don't notice it much. I do think the speakers sound a little more hollow and tinny than my previous Viera, but I use a soundbar/subwoofer setup most of the time and don't really notice them. Most of the new Smart features are not something I even want, so I am very happy with this TV and saved over $1500 over the Samsung I was also considering.

I live by myself and didn't want to bother friends, so bought a cabinet from BestBuy and had them set up everything. I'm glad I did as it took them quite a bit of time, tho the cabinet, sound bar, assembly, hauling off the old TV really ran up the price! The TV needs something under it to raise it an inch or two as the sound bar blocks the remote signal and one must point it a certain way. When using my old DVD Recorder, I need to open the cabinet door for the signal to get thru. Anyway, I'm happy with the who set up.

Here's how I selected the Panasonic VIERA TC-P65S60 Plasma A: My budget was under $1500. B: I selected Plasma TV over LED because of the better viewing angle available currently as I move around the room when watching TV. C: I selected Panasonic because of their dominance in Plasma TVs. D: After comparing Panasonic Plasma TV's available, ii came down to between the 60" TC-P60ST60 or the 65" TC-P65S60. Both were under $1500 before sales tax. The ST60 had a better display in the bright showroom over the S60. The S60 had the bigger display. E: The S60 was chosen because of: 1: The larger 65" display was better for my 50+ eyes. 2: My primary source of programming was standard definition TV with a little bit of HD from DVDs. 3: I can control the ambient lighting in my TV room to reduce the reflections off the TV screen. 4: Did not need the 3D features of the ST60.
