For artists, this is the best shield for your iPad. It keeps your palm from sticking on the screen, and the texture feels like you’re drawing on paper. Definitely take advantage of the Geek Squad installation with your Total Tech membership!

I’ve always wondered about the Paperlike. I’ve seen a lot of reviews on it and never really had the drive to make the purchase. Thankfully, Best Buy provided one in exchange for the review you’re reading right now…and I’m surprised how this turned out. I’ve been an iPad user for years, and I’ve never really been an iPad screen protector kind of guy. I do tend to put them on my phones from time to time, but tempered glass screen protectors are far easier to apply than a massive, flimsy piece of plastic. Still, I gave it a try. For starters, it is IMPERATIVE you watch the video on Paperlike’s website as their process for applying it will help save you some grief. I tried it without and ruined the first of two provided covers. Second—get as close as you can to a dust free environment. I don’t think those exist, unless you happen to work in a clean room or lab, but those little dust flecks will drive you bonkers if you don’t avoid them. It’s almost like Paperlike provides two sheets because they assume you’ll screw up the first one. Because I’ve been writing on iPad for so long, I’ve become accustomed to the “slippery” feeling of plastic against glass that the Apple Pencil provides. It’s annoying but not impossible to get used to. When making pixel-precise changes like in photo editing, or when trying to ‘long press’ with the Pencil, the frictionless experience can be infuriating. Paperlike fixes all of this. Now, I won’t say it is like writing on paper—it’s most certainly not—but it’s far closer to the experience than only using the iPad and Apple Pencil with no medium between them. The most “paper like” experience for me is the feeling of the screen protector under your hand; the textured surface really DOES feel like paper which is pretty interesting. It also makes a decent screen protector, and I like the matte finish that it gives the display. I was a huge fan of matte displays back in the day; you don’t get them so much anymore but I find screen glare to be really distracting. Now that virtually every screen is glossy, I’ve adjusted out of necessity—but this brings back some great memories. The one thing that a matte, textured surface brings to the iPad is more surface area—and more surface area means more area for dust and dirt to get trapped. The dust hasn’t been so bad, but keeping the Paperlike clean of hand oils takes just a bit more work than a microfiber cloth on smooth glass. It’s an ok tradeoff I suppose. These come out to $20 PER SHEET, and that’s really a great price considering what you get out of it. If you don’t like matte screens, pass on this—but if you do a lot of note taking or precise drawing, you might get some good use out of it. And, it’s not so expensive that replacing them every now and then would be problematic. But take care when you are applying it—one little spec of dust trapped underneath might slowly drive you crazy, knowing that you can’t do anything about it.

This degrades the iPads image clarity so much I couldn’t ignore it. When you open a white page you get a grainy rainbow effect. A bad product overall.

My oldest love it. They draw on their iPad and they like that this feels more like paper. Also, they are addicted to the sound it makes while drawing lol don't ask me why lol.

Good study iPad for the money. Size was a little underwhelming. Ended up going with the iPad Pro. Was worth it. Didn’t want Touch ID anymore.

Bought this for my daughters new iPad Pro to help with her drawing and she says that it works great.

It feels just like your writing on paper! Easy enough to put on. Clear like glass with a slight texture.

Having a hard time installing, bubbles everywhere. Not worth the price.

In the past 10 years I’ve always been able to get a screen protector on a device with no issue. Until these. They will not release bubbles and the instructions they give you to put them on seem like a good idea until you get debris from the packaging under the screen.

First I have been using product non stop for over a week and find the brightness since putting on this screen protector diminished due mostly to the matte finish. The glare is reduced but so too is the overall brightness. The application of the product is basically a dry install but helpful to watch the great manufacturer’s install video FIRST! I had no issues and the included application accessories are greatly appreciated. After install, no bubbles or dust so was very pleased. Overall the feel of the product is very tactile with ahem...actual paper like feel. I loved using the product with my Apple Pencil, not being an artist I still enjoyed the feel and the look of my sketches and writing as compared to my prior glass screen protector. I read other reviews both by consumers and professional reviewers and both dismayed to learned that while this protects your pencil head, the screen protector itself also gets used up and need to be replaced depending on how often you are using the product. I recommend it for true artist or sketchers that need the true paper like quality. I also suggest you buy when on sale, the two pack is a big plus to reduce the overall cost just take your time to not waste any of the screen protector during install.

Was a pain to get all the air bubbles out of it after I put it on.

This screen protector was way too hard to apply. I tried one, my husband tried to do the other, Couldn't keep the air bubbles out. Ended up buying another brand on Amazon

In the box (envelope) is 2 paperlike screen protectors, and an installation kit. There is also a cute card with a nice graphic, I got a singing unicorn. ;) On the back of the installation kit, there is instructions on where to find an online video of how to apply. I must say, number one, make sure that you are in a lint/dust free environment when putting on. Number two, go ahead and turn on the video because it will walk you through the proper way to install. Number three, have patience. Personally, I have not installed a screen protector in years because I normally have Best Buy install but I feel confident now when it is time to put on another screen protector, I will be able to do it myself. When you read this review, keep in mind that this is my first Paperlike and I am in love and now a fan of Paperlike. I love the matte looking finish and so far, I am not having to wipe my screen every couple of hours because of fingerprints. Using the Apple Pencil is amazing as well, it really feels like I am writing on paper. I feel like I will be using my pencil even more now because of this. As I type this message, the screen feels clear in low light and with the resolution at 100%. All of the on screen button still work great and it feels good on my finger tips. With the exception of my challenges of putting on the Paperlike, I am very confident that I will be purchasing again and for other iPads that I own. Will I recommend to friends and family, absolutely!

It’s a great product if you can figure out how to get it on. An alignment tool would be helpful for this. If you mess up, good luck.

Can't say this was worth anything more than a piece of paper. Difficult to put on, which is probably why they are the only screen protector that comes in a set of two. Once on, it smudges with fingerprints like crazy. The only pro is that the function is as is promises. But the smudging and fingerprints are more annoying than the value, to me.

Followed the direction to the T and kept having black fuzzies from the drying cloth which is almost impossible to see against a turned off screen. I have been applying these screen protectors for decades and never had this much of an issue with them. Used both of the ones that it came with and both failed.

The Paperlike - Screen Protector for Apple iPad Pro makes drawing and note-taking on the iPad feel much more natural. That's a big improvement. I was surprised at first that there was a short adjustment period when moving to it from the normal, slick screen. But, once adjusted, I really enjoy the feel of the surface. Others have already covered the issue with installation. I will only add my agreement that you must watch the video, have a clear prepared place, and take-your-time. As has been mentioned, it would be good to pre-clean the surface and let it dry before beginning the actual installation. If, like me, you've self-installed many screen protectors, you need to adjust your thinking when approaching this installation (see above). Once done, you'll find yourself enjoying it immensely.

did not work at all for my tablet. Could not get the bubbles out of the screen protector, switched to a glass screen protector.
