This was a lame revamp of a tired franchise. The gimmick this time was that you can actually see the paranormal activity. The former movies were scary because there was a degree of realism to them but this was a poor attempt of ripping off Poltergeist.

These films are so inextricably tied in with the previous ones that in order to "get it" you would almost had to have watched the previous installment again prior to seeing this. With most long running franchises, each film is capable of standing alone to some extent, despite being released a number of years later. If you haven't spent the time watching, at minimum, the previous installment(s), these just aren't going to make much sense. That's more time and effort than I'm willing to devote to a "b" grade horror franchise. That's why I'm...done with this franchise.

I have all the Paranormal Activity movies. I haven't watched the last one or this one yet. I just bought to have the whole collection. Honestly I have gown tired of them by the third movie.

This is not all in 3-D-only parts of the movie is. save your money and get the blue ray or the dvd the move is ok. If you are looking for a 3-d movies this one is not.

Better yet, what was I thinking buying this? I got it cheap, and literally everything about this release is great....except the movie is terrible. Good quality, good amount of bonus features...you just wont care because of the movie that came before it. I loved the first one, was bored with the second, the third is my favorite in the serious, hated part 4. The pattern should be that I like this one, but no, its dumb, Bad ending, bad scares.

The movie wasn't bad until the ending. Ending was horrible. Also we purchased it in 3d and the effects weren't that great!!

This movie managed to tell me what I had already figured out by watching the other Paranormal Activity movies. Not worth it

It's a nice movie because I've seen the other ones but I just didn't find this one scary for some reason.

Unfortunately this series continues to disappoint. More of the same without furthering the mythology.
