I purchased this for our family gift exchange. It is a great wow gift for the price. The color is spectacular. It isn't as sturdy as the phantom 3, but it is a good price.

Have you ever had that feeling that a particular experience can’t be topped? Well I’ve had that feeling multiple times while piloting the Bebop with the skycontroller. All I can say is incredible.! I’ve been a parrot pilot since 2012 and this company has never ceased to amaze me. The wealth of ideas that comes out of their lab is nothing short of amazing. Here are a few reasons why I make this claim: User friendly Nothing is more frustrating than getting a new device and having to read an encyclopedia on how to use it. Right out the box, the Bebop is read to go, but don’t let the smooth taste fool you. The technology packed into this drone is so versatile that it never makes you feel like its too simple or complex to use, which is another reason why I say Parrot has some of the best minds working for them in the industry. The controls are very intuitive and give you 3 modes of operation like: Ace, Normal, and joy pad. Ace: allows you to control the Bebop with one finger (pretty cool) Normal: Lets you move the Bebop Drone with the accelerometer and turn with the joystick (default control) joy pad: disables the use of the accelerometer and allows you to take snapshots and record videos of the Bebop Drone in action with your device’s camera. Design This drone speaks for itself as soon as you turn it on, it’s like powering up a fighter jet (never fired up a real fighter jet before, but I bet this is how it is), it has a fan for the onboard processor to keep it cool. It’s amazing how much Parrot was able to incorporate into this gadget. I love the compact size of the drone as it makes it easy to pack in a small bag or backpack. Battery is very simple to attach and detach which complements the drones awesome form factor. I honestly can’t think of anyways they could improve on the design except making the battery back more flush with the drone when attached (see fig. 1) Flight The part you all been waiting for; the flight. There is so much to say about flying this wonderful little tech, but for the sake of not boring you I will try to keep this section to the most important parts: • Take off is simple, as soon as you press the “Take Off” icon, the drone quickly launches and hovers over the area from where it took off. Also I would like to note that when you take off it starts a recording of it’s adventures automatically, so keep that in mind. • There is an awesome feature included on this drone that I am beginning to appreciate more and more each time I pilot it; GPS. The technical masterpiece not only has the ability to travel a great length but also has the ability to return to it’s starting location when commanded to. I would like to make mention that it doesn’t do exact landing location but definitely comes back to the location where it lifted off and hovers until you command the next step; very intuitive. • The skycontroller is awesome! I honestly couldn’t imagine flying this wonderful tech any other way, although you do have the ability to use smart devices that are compatible with the Parrot Freeflight software. The controls are precise and accurate and gives you so much control over how you want to pilot your drone. This addition to the Parrot drone experience was much needed and I am very happy that Parrot listened to the need of consumers. The controller gives you an estimated range of 2km (1.24mi)! Enough said….. Camera I’m not going to spend much time on this topic because it really needs no commentary. The camera is amazing; everything from the quality to the range of control. At one point I started to wonder if the camera would ever stop panning. I love the fact that you can control the camera without ever adjusting the actual drone itself, what an intuitive feature. From what I hear, there aren’t any moving parts in the camera. Honest Opinions I know it has been a what may seem like a total love affair for several paragraphs, but once you experience this amazing tech, you wouldn’t be able to blame me. I will however make know a few thoughts I have about the device, not deal breakers, but definitely areas that could use improvement: • When flying the drone way up in the atmosphere (seems like it anyway) I have experience disconnection from the skycontroller. Thankfully the drone just hovers in the sky, but I can’t help but wonder what if the controller never reconnected. Very scary thought for me, but to Parrots credit I haven’t had enough flight time to really test limits and different scenarios. For now I will play it safe • 2 red arrows pointing down on a black button indicate the emergency button on the skycontroller. This could easily be mistaken for gently landing the drone when pressed, but of course this will just shut off all power to the drone and cause it to fall right out the sky. I would suggest that maybe better illustration or some type of 2 sec hold rule be integrated into a software update to prevent any mistakes. • Is 30 mins of flight time to much to ask from a single charge? I think not, but of course in my world we should have flying cars by now. Just wanted to make it known that when flying the drone, you never want the flight to end. • The Freeflight software should be compatible with Google cardboard to further enhance user experience in FPV piloting. Final Thoughts When it’s all said and done, Parrot really knows what they are doing when creating fun products. If anyone wants to fly the horizon without ever getting in a hang glider or if you just want to see how it feels to view the world from the sky or if you just want to zip a quad copter around the park, the Parrot Bebop Drone with Skycontroller is the tech for you. Now if you excuse me, I must be getting back to flying.

I bought this drone not realizing it is made out of styrofoam. Once opening the box I knew that I would be returning it to the store. Pay a little more and get a DJI Phantom.

As with many other users, my Bebop drone proved to be uncontrollable. It took off and just kept going, not responding to any attempted control. I immediately returned it and told the clerk that I was surprised that Best buy would sell such an obviously defective product.

The Bebop drone I received couldn't even hover in place. It would fly out of control running into walls and falling to the floor until it broke after about 6 flights of less than ten seconds each. Now I'm stuck with a $500 product that doesn't work, or I can send it back to Parrot on my own dime and hope they can repair it and address the issues that led to the damage. Not a great situation.

As recommended practicing indoors in a controlled environment to strengthen my ability to safely pilot this drone. I think the controller for this drone would and will be a definite addition to the system. Operating directly on the iPhone is just a little challenging. All in all, I love it and ready to take my experience to new heights.

Awesome little quad that is very portable and the video stabalization is nothing short of amazing. Don't expect GoPro quality video but it is very good. Not sure what Parrot was thinking with the battery connector setup but the design is poor. Overall I've been pleased and it has performed as advertised. This quad will only improve with firmware updates.

I find the parrot bebop to fly quite well although limited to range the highest I could get out of 4 devices was 80 meters which is under 300 ft.give me wrong 300 feet high is not bad but the range is where the problem is once you go out 800 feet signal will be lost and will not connect at all. it will try to return home sometimes and sometimes it will just sit there and hover no matter how high or how far away from it take off point Until the battery gets week and it has no choice to land wherever it is. this is a very bad experience I've flown the drone 59 times and 50 out of them had to emergency land or not land at all to be honest with you you emergency land only worked for three of those times. because remember once you lose a signal which is the main problem having you to count on it returning home or draining the battery to land wherever. I give this three stars I cannot give in more it is good professional image in daylight only.night time is very fuzzy. definitely need to order two more batteries keep with you. rubber feet no good, falls off. after about 40 flights velcro battery holder fails I had to reinforce velcro with tape for the rest of flights till I returned it to bestbuy. thought of getting the sky controller but battery life doesn't seem like I could make it far and make it back. It is a nice want to fly and take photos in a closed average range around your property I found checking all frequencies auto and everything the best I could do was 240 feet high about 600 to 800 feet away in distance with line of sight and very little obstruction. Ifound the Asus Transformer Pad worked very well due to the high definition screen. Sony Xperia z2 Okey blu products life pure had better range of the three. Best of all was the Nvidia shield portable and it's analog type controls. it gave me about 85 meter altitude and 900 feet out then app froze up on signal lost and could never connect until it was back in my hand with new battery. take this review as you want but remember you will not fly far with this if you do you are going to either run out of battery which will give you a weak signal and it will keep going or you will just lose the signal altogether it may return home or it may not. so from what Ive see with this drone is its perfect if you have little family outings and you just want to record nice pics with in the area of a property but if you plan on flying higher and further to see down the road or to go to the park down the street or to land at grandmas house a quarter mile away I doubt it will ever happen. Maybe with the sky controller but I will not even try. That's 400 more that can go towards a better known drone. Battery life from 9 to 12 minutes with standard battery. Yes I would recommend this still because it's cool for what it is. please keep in mind if you're not using the shield. using a touch screen you will have a lot of smudges making it harder to see in the daylight.

I have never had a drone so not sure if i am the best to critic this drone. I did read good reviews about being 2 batteries and having more flight time than most so purchased this one. I was not able to control the drone well with my cell phone application and as a result consistly crashed. I have since purchased a remote controller that I can mount my cell and I hope this will give me more control. Stay tuned.

I bought this to try and save a couple dollars on a drone. I don't think I flew it more than 10 minutes before I returned it. It looks nice and easy to handle but will not perform in places with the constant breeze. After I returned it I spent the money and I picked up the phantom three.
