Still needs some improvements but Amazing!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered my parrot bebop drone on best buy online and received it a day later. I opened it and played around with (knowing how with the experience of using the first Ar Drone 1.0) I had fun. But the second time I flew it, it gave me an ERROR 11 motor problem even though I didn't even crash it. I contacted parrot and they told me this was a defect problem with the drone and that a lot of people were having this problem. So I returned it and got a new one at best buy. I love this product. It's very easy and fun to use. Takes amazing pictures and videos. An amazing drone.

Fun and very sturdy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After reading the first 2 reviews, I will say that neither of them read anything before they wrote their reviews. As with most drones, the flight time is fairly short. 11-12 minutes is about average. The drone turns off by pressing the power button at the back. I flew mine using a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition. It started vibrating when the drone battery was down to 10%. That was nice. Regardless of the wind, the software records very clear and stable videos. The footage is beautiful. I liked that when you let go of the accelerator, the drone stops and hovers. It takes a lot of wind to make it go somewhere you don't want it to; there must be some software to make it stable, it works great. I hope to get the separate controller soon for an even better experience. I did crash it a couple of times (my fault for not paying attention) and it didn't hurt a thing.

Horrible, went through 4 replacements in one day
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was on the fence about buying this having read all the horror stories and as an owner of other Parrot products including the AR drone 2.0 and the Zik headphones, I have had a lot of trouble with defects in the past. Parrot is an ingenious and innovative company, but their quality control is non existent. I bought the Bebop after being assured I had 14 days to return it in case it was defective. First drone: Charged the battery and was super excited to fly it only to find out the battery didn't plug in because the connector in the drone was too short and bent. After fumbling with it for an hour and trying to place a small bead in the gap to put the connector in place, the drone didn't power on. Second drone: Opened the replacement right in front of the checkout before taking it home and it had the same exact problem so they brought out a third one. Third replacement: Opened it, powered it on and everything looked good. Took it home and started flying it and on the second flight, it disconnected its wifi midair (luckily it didn't fly away), but at least it hovered in place. After trying to reconnect to it several times and failing, instead of remaining hovering, it decided to take off and land itself from where it took off but on the way fell mid-flight stating there was a motor problem. Fourth replacement: Finally everything seemed right but after the third flight, even though there were no issues or problems, while hovering only 2 feet above the ground it started to glide to the right and landed in the grass. (it seemed to happen a minute after it did a front flip). I will not be replacing it again and instead will get my money back. I made 4 trips to best buy for replacements all within a day (and about 1 or 2 flights with each drone). Luckily best buy was super understanding and knew of the issues before hand so I will be taking it in to return it.

Great Drone for beginner or experts
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am surprised at how the Bebop Drone can be so nimble and maneuverable yet so stable at the same time. Video quality was excellent and the stabilization really works! I have to say, I found the experience really improved with the Sky Controller and FPV glasses. I know the FPV glasses are not something the average user has laying around but the Sky controller is an accessory that turns this from consumer product to a FPV / aerial photography platform that easily competes with DJI and others. I was not disappointed and I own several high end R/C & FPV Craft.

The best Parrot drone yet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Another excellent drone from Parrot, this is my fourth one (AR Drone 1, AR Drone 2, Jumping Sumo and now Bebop) and by far the best in terms of features and functionality. After opening the box I was hapy to see 2 batteries, and an extra set of props (though I have to say with the older AR drones I had never broken one, but it's nice to have a few spare parts in case of a major collision). It even comes with a lense cap in case you don't want to see where you are flying :-) The camera is now mounted on a platform that absorbs vibrations, this makes for an incredibly clear and movement free picture/video. Love being able to move the camera view up and down, though it would be even better if I could move it more, I would say I can move about 30 degree up,down, left or right. Flying: Very stable event in moderate winds (this was an issue before with the older AR drones). Controls are the same as before on the AR drones. I like the new protective side pieces as they are easi to add and remove, also they do detach on more forcefull impacts. With the older AR drones styrofoam protection this used to be a problem and I had to glue mine back together e few times. Video: Very clear, though having to download it afterwards from the drones internal memory (8GB) is a bit of a chore, though understandable given the resolution of the video. 14M resolution on pictures is incredible, my realtor says he wants one, hey this might be a business oportunity... GPS: Really cool to be able to return to home, and I have some ideas on using this through the programmable API. Programming API: that one I am still working on that one, will update reviews once I get to a stable (my own code) version.

Wait for a price drop or Upgrade
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Using my parrot bebop drone can be frustrating sometimes but its not a bad drone (again IT IS NOT A BAD DRONE) like everyone try's to say it is. Sure it has its bugs and I have had my fair share of glitches with it and moments when it just fails to fly but all in all for five hundred dollars and it being a early product its not terrible. Honestly I have had more successful flights then unsuccessful I recommend waiting for a price drop or until the company works out all the bugs in this drone.

great value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're not ready to pony up for a prosumer drone this is really a great option. The flight functionality and video quality for the price is top notch. New waypoints integration is lots of fun as well and app makes updating firmware very easy. It can take some time to get used to controlling the drone with your phone (if you're not getting the sky controller) because it carries a lot of power and is lightweight compared to more expensive options. That being said, as a newbie I appreciate that the lightweight design and that the motors shut off when you hit something (not a flying lawnmower!). It's lightweight and small design make it easy to bring with you on trips which makes it a solid value option.

Start flying out of the box
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yes you can purchase cheaper models of quad copters but remember this is also a drone. Not only can you start flying out of the box, you don't need much training to get great great video. Drone feature lets you program flights using GPS. For someone that doesn't have the time to tinker and trim this is a great device.

Bebop delivers!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My second drone..owned a Parrot AR 2.0. This Bebop is everything it's been written up to be. It's a user friendly compact powerful unit for the money. A great value in my opinion when held up against DJI Phantom products. Parrot has put a lot of thought into this unit. Be careful with the battery cable--I've read some folks have had it slip down into the hull. Just be careful when handling it and you should be fine. Search forums and do your research on this drone. Lots of good tips can be found there..Parrot has a forum for example. Even though this drone is geared to be user friendly it's really not a toy per say. It's a serious aerial performing HD camera. I love the Bebop and have had no problems with it so far.

Do your homework and you'll be fine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great drone. If you unbox it, charge a battery, connect your device and hit TAKEOFF, you will likely have the same bad results as others here. But if you will take the time to get to know how this thing works, how to set it up for flight in different conditions, i.e.: wind, how to update the software and the firmware, how to configure the accelerometers etc., you will learn that this thing is really cool. Parrot has a forum for Beebop that has lots of useful info. Plan to spend a few hours with it before launch and you'll have a great experience. The stabilization and quality of the images and video are awesome. Flying it is a piece of cake.

This is a wonderful drone.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a wonderful drone for people who just want to fly a quadcopter(drone) outside, and it's even possible to fly it indoors. This drone has an excellent camera and it is very powerful. I really like the nice fpv experience that you receive, though it's a little laggy. Overall, great drone for beginners and people who are staring to get into the quadcopter experience. Make sure you register with the FAA, before you fly, or heavy fines and possibly prison is possible. Also you make sure you update every time you get an update, it will definitely make sure the experience is better.

Love the Drone. Hate the App.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a brand new Bobop. I love it. I just wish the software did what Parrot claims that it does. JUST KNOW BEFORE PURCHASING: The iOS App and the Android App are not the same. Android is missing "Pilot Academy" (cloud-based flight tracking), telemetry (you do not see your altitude, speed, etc.) and I cannot find any way to sync the video or pics in real time (as claimed). Both the iOS and Android versions are missing a 'flight planner' My guess is that this is how you would set a 'course' for the drone. I've read a few places that it is coming soon (when?). Why advertise (in the app stores) that it does this? AGAIN: There is no way to set a GPS course -- The only automated GPS navigation feature is the 'return home' button. Without the software issues (lies?) it would be 5 stars all the way. It is a dream to fly (watch the vids and see the online manual FIRST to get it calibrated) and bunches of fun.

Not what I expected.......
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wi Fi connectivity poor, battery lock and charge bad/inaccurate, inconvenient default record on, video transfer slow and easy to loose at galery, no playback from internal memory, landing set up to abrupt.... easy to break something, no LEDlights for night fly or drone front/back tagging, sky controller" is a must, for more precision flying, but for that kind of money..... Might as well go with a Phantom. Video is excellent in my opinion, looks probably the best one outhere, not bad for an intermediate pilot, just be careful with battery charge reading and WiFi signal

Great If You Follow Directions
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First things first, as soon as you receive your Bebop you should update the firmware. After that, the first time you fly you should calibrate the magnetometer. After I did those 2 things I took to the skies (indoors only so far, too cold to be outside lately). If you are a beginner I would start with the Joypad controls, as controlling it with the accelerometer and tilting your device takes a little more skill and I would recommend working up to those. With the latest firmware and correct calibrations it has been flying great. I have crashed it a couple times and have already broken one of the flimsy plastic pieces that connect the foam numbers to the drone. I knock 1 star for the low quality connecting piece. Other than that it has been a joy to fly. I found a part on Thingiverse that I can 3D print to fix what has been broken so that's a relief. Battery life has been around 10-13 minutes. I'd happily recommend this to anyone willing to dish out this kind of cash for a toy.

Exciting Tech!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up my drone today, red - so I can see it easier against green foliage should it get hung in a tree! I haven't flown yet as I have a windows tablet. There is a freeflght3 program for windows but apparently it is not ready for distribution. I have an android tablet on order. So, I'll update this review when I get the chance to fly it. Unpacking the drone, I would say that the bebop drone is well constructed, and yes, even sexy in appearance. However, there is no owners manual. That's why they get 4 out of five stars so far. There are bebop tutorials on YouTube, that will help get you started. Also, there doesn't seem to be anyway to turn the drone off, other than disconnecting the battery, which is somewhat inconvenient. Better documentation is in order.

I bought it and I can´t use it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hello, I bought it, and unpacked it, I calibrated it and I did everything that I must have to do for the first "take off", well, when I did the take off, the drone flew directly to my ceiling and crashed (I only pressed the take off button), I calibrated again and tried outside, when I did it the drone flights up to 10 meters and the land button never Worked, I was really terrified and had to press the "emergency button", bebop crashed and the hull broke up, now I am waiting for support. I bought the Rolling Spider too and it Works great but bebop is not!, I am very angry now.

Great Drone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You will prob fine alot of bad review but trust me it’s all to user error, this is not a ready to fly out of the box drone it requires you to calibrate and update firmware, if you skip this you will have the issues you see people complain about, if you fly near your house forget your home network your phone will AUTOMATICALLY connect to the strongest wifi so when your drone is at max distance you will lose it because your phone connects to home Watch the Parrot setup videos and read the online manual and you will have a blast with this drone it is alot of fun to fly

This litlle guy is powerful, but requires a pilot
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having no previous good experience with typical helicopter, I can say that flying Parrot Bebop is very fun. The video image is extremely stable and the drone is very responsive with commands. I saw comments about video lag during flight but you shall never rely on video feed when flying outdoors, especially on windy conditions. This not also plug and play toy, you need to learn from parrot forums and YouTube how to setup your drone. The setting for indoor is completely different than for outdoor. Also avoid the ACE mode in the beginning (it came as default in the FreeFlight software). Remember to lock the GPS before your first flight, also upgrade the firmware before first flight. Even though this drone is very stable, it does require a pilot, do not think that it will keep static under windy conditions. You need to fly it, it means keep it the air, compensate wind drift, staying away from buildings and persons. I use Nvidia Shield as controller, it is way better than controlling with tablet or phone.
