    Great Drone

You will prob fine alot of bad review but trust me its all to user error, this is not a ready to fly out of the box drone it requires you to calibrate and update firmware, if you skip this you will have the issues you see people complain about, if you fly near you house forget you home network you phone will AUTOMATICALLY connect to the strongest wifi so when you drone is at max distance you will loose it because your phone connects to home Whats the Parrot setup videos and read the online manual and you will have a blast with this drone it is alot of fun to fly

    Warning-You Will Lose Your Investment!

After much review of tutorials, I set up the unit for first flight perfectly. Calibrated twice. All flight parameters set to minimums. Max height set to 2 meters. First flights indoors, small room with 10' ceiling. Everything connected properly with the app. Hit the take off button. The unit rises nicely to 1 meter hover. I let it fly for about 30 seconds, hit the land button, and it lands. Hit the take off button a second time, the unit takes off, and hovers at 1 meter. After about 30 seconds, I hit the land button, and the unit lands. One more time, I hit the take off button, and this time the unit rises to hover height, and then INSTANTLY goes into FULL THROTTLE, and SLAMS INTO THE CEILING AT WARP SPEED. WHAM!!! It comes crashing down in 3 pieces. The side shrouds came off, and one of them was broken. I'm surprised that that is the only damage given the violence of the crash into the ceiling and light fixture. I am 100% certain this was not caused by me in any way. The setup was done perfectly. And two flights were performed without incident. The third flight resulted in an un-commanded rapid gain in altitude without any user input attempted whatsoever. I'm was only 2 feet from the unit, and both it and my ipod have freshly charged batteries. Others have had this same problem, and other problems with the unit flying away on them. I feel pretty certain, that if you purchase this unit, you are quite likely to lose your investment in a fairly short time. It simply has too many fatal bugs.

I purchased this drone this evening I made 3 flights with it and on 2 occasions the drone just dropped out of the sky. Onetime it was no more than 20 feet away and I pressed the land button and the drone dropped out of the sky. On another flight I had the drone flying about 30ft up and it tumbled out of the air into the grass.

i got my bebop a couple of days ago and have been having a blast with it. the battery life is about 10-12 minutes like most drones out there. the drone flights great and is extremely stable even when its windy. the recording quality is extremely good and what impressed me the most was how durable its been. after a couple of pretty bad crashes the nothing broke it dint suffer any major damage just a small scratch. i only wish best buy had it available with the skycontroller. which i will get as soon as its available

Decent Product Weak Point Is Controls

Often I see negative reviews for Parrot products and I can't help but wonder what kind of phone/tablet are they trying to use? Typically, the better the phone/tablet the better your experience. The complaints about range, Wi-Fi strength is partially controlled by your device, not just the drone. Your device freezes up either because it has a weak processor or you have too many apps going on at the same time. Then there's the lack of info complaint...between the app and Parrot's website, there are literally hours of instructions and video tutorials.

This is really for someone who wants to fly for fun. This is for someone who is into aerial photography. If you want a "fun" quad, look up the Blade 200QX or Blade 350 QX. Test indoors before taking outdoor.

the drone flight was the same as any drone but wait till you download all the recording that you have on the drone, you will be surprised on how clear and steady it is. the technology that they put in the camera was amazing. you can really create good quality flight videos on this drone. great that it is compact and quiet.

The concept is great. The execution is flawed. The drone operated for 4 hours before a "motor stall" occurred and the drone dropped from the sky. It has been a month since the drone was received by Parrot and no replacement has yet been sent. Anybody considering this drone needs to use Google to see all the problems people are having with this product. Unfortunately is seems Parrot failed to ramp up the Service inventory to address all of the warranty failures that are occurring. Looking back, this $500 would have been better spent on a DJI Phantom rather than the Parrot product.

My first outdoor Bebop flight and I love this drone. Open nix access, Very stable, Performs very well. Always improving with ongoing R&D support. Will only get better. Works well with just your phone for local flights or get the Skycontroller and you will stay connected at very long distances. Here is my 1st video of just cuts no effects or stabilization, only BeBop https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuDIImeaVsY

This drone is very stabile, agile and easy to fly. I currently fly a dji phantom 2 and was skeptical about this purchas at first having flown hobby grade equipment . What I have found is that the video stabilization is incredible and I have flown it more that 600 feet in distance at an altitude of 260 feet using only a samsung note 3 as a control device. The drone also operates well in 20 mph wind. This drone is well worth the money and in fact may actually be a bargin.

My experience with the bebop hasn't been so good. As others mention, there was no documentation included and on-line documentation was hard to find and poor. After a long setup period that required a lot of trial and error I was able to try flying it indoors - Hands off the controls so it should have flown up about three feet and hovered. It flew immediately full speed into the ceiling. I next tried outside and instead of hovering at three feet it flew full speed up on top of my two story roof even though I had set the MAX ALTITUDE to 3 meters. I returned it to BESTBUY and they cheerfully exchanged it for another one. The second behaved pretty much the same, only a little more under control. It still took off out of control straight up, I estimate about 100 feet before I could stop it. It then came crashing down. I tried controlling it with both an iPad and an iPhone with pretty much the same results. I was able to figure out a strange little procedure that, about 75% of the time, would get it to hover and let me fly it around but even then it was somewhat unpredictable. I have opened a trouble ticket with Parrot - we'll see if their customer service can solve these problems. It seems like it has some pretty neat features, but right now I can't recommend it. Hopefully they will be able to resolve these problems and we'll see if I can then recommend it.

What a disappointment! Got it all charged up and when to an open park around the corner... first flight gets message that there is a motor failure. Reset and get the same problem, several times. When I did get it to fly, had zero control. The App doesn't take me into flight mode anymore so I deleted app and re-installed. Nope...still no connection now. The power button at the base seems to be stuck in the on possition, as I can't turn it off anymore, unless I unplug the battery. I read all the reviews, and saw the problems people had, but I thought maybe those were first orders or something (really wanted this thing I guess). I received the product today, 12-9-14... Do not buy this as a gift for someone...you will be throwing your money away. I'm returning mine for refund only, no exchange.

    Glitchy

I received this as a gift yesterday and did about 7 flights with no major problems, except for it having a spaz attack at about 4ft. in the air and crashing down. The frame seemed to have taken the fall like a champ. Today I took it outside to try and take the bebop to about 100ft. It was very calm and was acting normal, then it just twisted and spazzed out and spiraled down and hit the ground very hard. It broke the frame and the motor, and now I have a very expensive door stop.

    Not Ready for prime time!

After following the instructions to the letter I took Bebop outside on a calm day and sat it down and hit takeoff. It shot up to about 6 feet and hovered perfectly. I was controlling it with my Ipad which for awhile worked really well and I was thinking this thing is cool. Then suddenly it started gaining altitude for no reason and I immediately tried to bring it down and it responded by shooting skywards at warp speed and there was nothing I could do to stop it. I tried the return home button to no avail. I had the maximum altitude set at 6 meters so it should not have went above that height. I looked skyward and I eventually lost sight of it. Thinking it lost and my $500 down the drain I started looking around and to amazingly it had fallen back to earth upside on the lawn about 300 yards away from me. Fortunately it wasn't damaged but rather than risk losing my $500 next time I took it back to Best Buy. It is possible it lost the Wifi connection because in testing often times it would lose the connection but it should have returned home. I noticed another fellow had the same problem so this is not an isolated case. I called Parrot and told them about it and they didn't even care and said the drone would not be covered under warranty if it happened again. So buyer beware! This is what happened to me. Get the DJI Phantom FC40. It is cheaper and way more reliable.

    Not ready for prime time

Much anticipated this drone. I have had a ar drone 2 for over a year and have been using it with aftermarket batteries to great effect ( 30 minute + flights). When I opened the bebop I was impressed, the construction is very good. I flew it a few times around the apartment crashed it once and afterwards the batteries would not engage. I looked on line and there is zip info on disassembly or repair. (Forget the easy disassembly claims on the website, as there are delicate electronic connections between sections of the drone, unlike the ar2). I returned it to best buy. oh by the way, don't inquire about exchanges over the phone with your local BB store, Amber At our local daytona store told me it was against policy to accept defective dot.com purchases at stores (after being very insistent after I read her documentation of store policy from their website.) I printed out the policy from the website and went to the store and had no problem - so much for Amber. I will order another once my refund is issued, as I believe it is probably a great product with adequate support and service provided.

Poor picture quality, lots of lags. Drone shoots up on its own and into walls and buildings. Basically erratic and uncontrollable. Short 8 mins flight time. Return to home GPS brought drone crashing into a building. Bought 2 of these and both were bad. Was really hoping for a good product. Severely disappointed. I have the Parrot ARDrone 2 which is better but still not a very good product.

Remember This Is Just A Toy

This "drone", which it's not, because it doesn't fly itself, so quad-copter is just a toy. It's a high end model, but don't expect performance, superior video quality, or the ability to FPV fly (First Person View), the video is not transmitted via analog, so there is a delay due to compression and transmission. That being said, if you know what your getting this thing is awesome. My kids fly this thing, and it's much better on the crashes than my larger quads.
