To be honest I didn't think I was going to like this movie but after watching it , I was happy I did. It was actually really good and I would highly recommend watching it , I have seen it a bunch of times online and I still had to purchase the Blu-ray the day it came out and I'm glad I did because the picture was amazing and clear and made it that much better to watch . The storyline was also really good , in my opinion it seems there will be a sequel but I'm not sure , I hope so because I will be watching that a bunch of times as well!

Great movie for family night to sit back and enjoy!

This is a good sci-fi – terrific acting, good script, and very good set. The CGI looks terrific and is not overdone. I felt the pain, and joy of the two main characters as they went through. It is a story of a low-level mechanic woke up on an interstellar trip by accident. He cannot put himself back to sleep and the trip would outlast his life. What to do – what to do. This looks terrific on Blu-ray on my 75 inch 4K HDR monitor. I'm sure when the 4K version comes out, it would look better but I am totally satisfied with this.

Highly recommended, great movie night movie choice

Pratt and Lawrence are wonderful and share decent chemistry, and Sheen adds wit, but, there's no mistaking the disturbing nature of this movie's premise. Positioned as a romance and at times offering insight into the nature of relationships, Passengers nonetheless tries to succeed while grounded in a plot that's frankly off-putting. Are we to see Jim as a harmless romantic, when his love for Aurora is based on expectations he placed on her without truly knowing who she is and his subsequent decisions are pretty much positioned as forgivable in the face of love? The special effects make for a visually stunning movie, and the film's complicated themes make it a knotty, interesting watch. But the film's problematic nature does distract from its strengths.

I was expecting more of an adventure movie, you know space travel, aliens worlds, robots, androids, etc. But this was more of a movie about futility, life, and hope. I have been a fan of Jennifer Lawrence for a few years, she has versatility and range, she brings depth to her characters, and she can play the part of a 17-year old, or a 30-year old and make it believable. I am becoming a bigger fan of Chris Pratt than I thought I would. I saw him in Parks and Rec, and he was okay, but he was overshadowed by the bigger stars. However, in Guardians of the Galaxy, he proved he can be in the leading role. In Passengers, these two stars have to show that they can perform together without a big supporting cast, and they perform well.

This movie was well paced throughout its viewing. The cast of three was great and had you on the edge of your chair. The plot started out in your typical sci-fi fashion but drew you into unique circumstances that made it interesting all the way to the end. My wife and I are giving raves out to the graphics people as it was in magnificent colors and tones in 4K unlike older films in 1080 resolution who spoil their detail with too much dark contrast. This film is a must for all fans who don't mind the length of time to watch it.

My one complaint with this movie is the gigantic plot hole. Warning, this is a spoiler! Chris Pratt's character is accidentally awakened too early. There is a problem with the ship. There are parts on the ship that he can use to fix it, but he doesn't have access to the areas that he needs, and no one else is waking up. If the builders and designers of the ship had enough forethought to store parts to repair the ship, they surely would have built in an alarm system that would have awakened the correct people in case of an emergency. Other than that, the effects are stunning. There is a swimming pool scene that is fantastically done. Overall, I recommend the movie, but you have to suspend reality.

This movie had me really interested reading about it. But kinda a little bit of a let down. The special effects and sets are outstanding. Story line kinda loses it in the middle. should have rented it instead of buying it is cheaper

The blu-ray looks amazing (I haven't watched the 4K yet). This disc is perfect in every way. That said, I had to deduct a star from my rating (actually, it would've been only a half star) due to certain parts of the movie itself. I believe the story would've been more realistic had the Jim character spent even longer alone before awaking Aurora. Also, the ending felt rushed. We no sooner view the end of the crisis when we're shown the end credits. Another 15 minutes added to the movie would have benefited it tremendously (definitely a movie deserving an extended cut on home video). Still, well made and well acted and worth owning on any of the 3 formats. Highly recommended.

Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence, where can you go wrong? I went into this movie knowing only a little, it's a space movie with two people stranded together. The less you know the better, so I won't spoil it for you. The special effects are top notc and the acting is top notch. Chris and Jen have great chemistry together and really steam up the screen. Martin Sheen is perfect as a robot bartender and another well known actor shows up later for a nice surprise but I won't ruin it for you. I've already watched it three times and I know I'll watch it three more in the next year. I highly recommend this great sci-fi movie. If you don't buy it at least rent it because I don't think you'll be sorry you did.

We wanted to get a 4K movie to try on our new tv & Xbox one & there didn’t seem to be much of a selection for 4K movies. We had many of the choices already on dvd or Blu-ray & we didn’t wanna pay the 4K movie price for something we have seen thousands of times, the price didn’t seem worth it. We had rented this once & liked it so we decided to see how it looked on 4K & the picture quality is great along with our natural look tv setting, everything really looks as if you’re right there with them! Awesome feature to have in your home entertainment! Chris Pratt was excellent in this & Jennifer Lawrence was good too just didn’t always care for her character! Good movie!

No, it wasn't perfect but, I'm not really sure why it was savaged the way it was. "Passengers" was an above average sci-fi movie that we have seen before. what brought it a bit on the high side was the excellent production design. This was a really beautiful movie to look at. Pratt and Lawrence did a fine job with a script that wasn't too deep but did venture into uncomfortable territory regarding the effects of loneliness and isolation. I wonder if the studio got involved in the critical third act and altered the direction the ending seemed to be heading towards. The 4K picture is stunning and filled with deep rich colors.

I love this movie. I know many people didn't, but I did. Of course, Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt are fun to watch and I liked the chemistry between them. I liked how their relationship developed, grew and was ripped apart. I loved how they were forced to come together to deal with the crisis and how that bonded them even closer together. Every story is about some crisis or problem that must be solved followed by the resolution of that problem. Here, the relationship crisis folded nicely into the survival of everyone on the ship crisis. Complain about Chris Pratt's character's choices all you want, but they set up for a wonderful resolution.

No monsters or aliens in this one. A very compelling story of the choices people make. The script is a well written, original, thought provoking offering that wakes up the characters and keeps you from napping . The special effects are fluid and believable. The Direction, as well as the camera work, is first rate. And the backdrop for the movie is almost as engaging as the characters themselves. Many of the scenes are stunning and wrap this movie up into one more than worthy gift. Trust me... this is quality film making.

Movie felt familiar .... ah yes several movies in one, the shining, Star Trek, Sunshine, I wasn’t sure if it was a thriller, romance, ...It just spiraled downwards...wait for free movie.
