This is a terrific film, Passengers, and Best Buy was the only place I found it available in 3D (along with 4k), so thanks for carrying it, and at a great sales price as well! The film is exciting and suspenseful, well-acted, makes you think about choices and consequences, has humor and romance as well, and has a great message about life. In addition, the 3D provides some very nice moments. Don't believe the critics, who are all about what's PC, while ignoring what reflects and reveals the way life and the human mind really work.

First, buy the movie. Movie well spent. Watching the movie unfold, don't plan on moving to get popcorn cause you will be glued permanently to your couch. It has most of the original cast up to date with twists, and unexpected and expected ideas. Yes the mastered alien weapons an yes we are not doing well. And yes you will have to see the movie to understand. It should have been a 3D release. That is the only way to improve.. interesting done and well... a great addition to the original. Has the makings of a great sci if series...

What could possibly go wrong? You're in a hibernation space ship headed towards an Eden like planet to start a new life. There has never been a failure of a hibernation pod until now and you find yourself alone on a space ship with 5500 people in hibernation. The problem is you're only 19 years into a 100 year trip and there is no way to restart the hibernation process. So you are going to be alone for 80 years looking at a beautiful woman that is in hibernation. What to do? Excellent Si-Fi. Heads and shoulders above "Gravity".

This is actually a good movie. I went to it in theaters and enjoyed it. It was different from what I expected, but in a good way. The movie is more of a romance between the two main characters who wake up on a space ship traveling to a distant galaxy, only to find that they are the only ones awake. But it doesn't feel like a romance, and there are elements of adventure and suspense woven in, Chris Pratt steals the show for the first half of the movie and he really makes this one. All in all a good entertaining flick.

Passengers presents an interesting and thought-provoking story line. How far would you go to save your own life? The actors present their characters in a way that draws the viewer into the story, and the visual effects definitely add to the movie. I thought some of the deleted scenes should have been left in. They filled in some questions I had while watching the final cut of the movie. Well worth the time and cost. I will be passing the DVD on to my friends with a recommendation that they watch.

I've seen movies like this before. Not a whole lot new here really. Kind of a mix between The Shining and The Martian with a dash of Lost in Space.

I loved this movie. Granted I'm a huge Chris Pratt fan and Jennifer Lawrence can do no wrong in my eyes. I won't ruin the story for you, it's best to go in completely fresh but this was the best acting I've seen from Pratt, a few scenes nearly had me in tears and Jen is sexy as ever. The two of them together have amazing chemistry and you can't take your eyes off them. The special effects are top notch, the twists are unexpected and I wanted to watch it again as soon as it was over. Get this movie, you won't regret it!!!

If you don't know what stockholm syndrome is you will after viewing this film. If you are expecting the lovable Chris Pratt from parks and rec you will not find him here. The first half of the film he resembles Tom Hanks from Castaway. Shortly after awaking from space sleep unexpectedly, he decides to ruin the life of Jennifer Lawrence's character. In short it is the story of Noah's ark in space, where in Noah destroys all trust and dies before the flood ends. That aside very entertaining film.

How many actors do you need to make a compelling drama and a riveting action story at the same time?! With real chemistry (don't forget to watch the special features and interviews) Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt take us on a Space Adventure and a love story on en epic scale! With great supporting roles for Michael Sheen and Laurence Fishburne this story starts as a love story and evolves into an action piece. And it clearly shows why the two lead actors deserve to be the charismatic movie stars they are today.

Wow. Amazing 4k transfer I heard this was shot in 4k so less of an up conversion from a lower source. As for the film itself, I think it is VASTLY underrated and works well. Holes in logic and science tolerable for example lingering questions (SPOILER ALERT STOP READING) !! Such as did no one get pregnant in all those years ? Wouldn't they want to have kids join them and carry the line on through actual arrival to tell the tale? Better ways it could have ended or answered questions that could/maybe should've been.

I appreciate Sony going with the full combo pack, and not being greedy as other studios. Hopefully other studios will follow suit so fans of 4k +3D are not forced to choose in the future. Passengers is a great movie to appreciate on all formats, but especially for comparisons of the 4k + 3d experiences. In this case, I enjoyed the 4k presentation more, despite having a preference for 3D. Not all conversions or transfers are created equal, and Sony gives us the choice to watch movies in the format we most prefer.

I first saw the title and didn’t think much about watching it. But when watching a different movie, there was a Preview about Passengers. It looked interesting. I looked for it in 3D. I found it in 4K and 3D (Best Buy exclusive), and at a savings price. I took it home and watched it in 3D that night. It was better than thought it would be. The 3D complemented the movie. And it has great extras too. I plan to watch it several more times. I just hope Best Buy keeps stocking 3D movies.

First hats off to Best Buy for providing an exclusive steelbook which offered both 4K and 3D versions of the movie. This made the buying choice easy for a movie I didn't see in the theaters and would not have purchased otherwise. I didn't read many of the reviews on this one and didn't expect much. What I got was an enjoyable space movie with some very good 3D effects. I don't have a 4K set up yet but will have in the future so good to know I'm covered for that eventuality.

A futuristic interstellar journey to a new colony planet in a luxury liner starship, with a cast of only four actors, this film will surprise you over and over again. Jennifer Lawrence excells, and Chris Pratt emerges as a complex and sensitive problem solver, very different from his previous sci fi performance as Peter Quill in Guardians of the Galaxy. Saw it several times on DVD from the library... had to go to Best Buy for the 3D version, displayed splendidly on my Vizio 47" 3D tv...

After purchasing a Sony Bravia 900 and a Sony 4k player to enjoy the quality of two, I played this 4k DVD. The quality of the recording and the new equipment was just as great as it looked in the store. This film is truly an experience in digital creations and the actual plot and acting made it just unbelieveable. I had to watch it 3 times to understand all the little clues that gave you the full understanding of the plot. What a spectacular film and the 4k quality was tops!

A very interesting twist on long distance space travel consisting of colonists from Earth going to an inhabitable planet that will take over 100 years to get to. Didn't do well in movie theaters because the plot was a little to adult to entertain adolescents like Star Wars does, but should hold the interest of adult sci fi fans and there are some excellent action scenes that will please views as the spaceship's nuclear generator threatens to explode.

I am a sci-fi viewer. When I purchased this movie and began to see it till the end it really stirred emotions that I did not expect. A passenger on the ship accidentally woke up and realize he was totally alone on the ship carrying over 5000 people, the journey will take 90 years to complete . Yet his humanity got the best of him and he was longing for companionship and he found it in a female passenger who he awaken . Buy the movie and enjoy it till the end .

First off, Passengers on UHD is a sight to behold - the colors and blacks just pop and this is definitely a film I'd recommend if you're wanting to show off your 4k display! On the other hand, Passengers has much potential in its storyline, however, I believe that it misses the mark in certain scenes. Overall, I enjoyed watching it but it is probably not a film I'll be watching over and over unless I'm using it to show off my 4k display to friends and family.

I saw this when it came out in theaters and I'll admit the story starts off pretty slow. I don't want to give anything away, but things don't really take off until Jennifer Lawrence's character enters the picture. That's when things start to move more quickly and you get a sense of what's happening around them. Overall its a good film, but the end does leave you hanging slightly. Again, no spoilers. Just watch the movie and you'll understand by the end.

Well it is a interesting intake on what can happen on a space craft on a mission to a new life on a new planet. The 1st half of the movie is mostly showing just one person awake alone on the ship. Until cabin fever steps in and he purposely awakes the women of his dreams. Together they embark their fate and do all they can to make their ordeal as filling as possible. It's a nice movie to watch with a love one or just alone by yourself.
