I had to return because the blu ray I was sent did not include digital..which is what was advertised on the webpage

Terrible movie, guy tampers with pod to wake up girl then they fall in love,give me a break.

My love of this movie (story, acting, etc.) is purely subjective, and while I am not your typical romance movie watcher (even when romance is in space) these two actors just clicked. But story aside, the visuals in this movie are STUNNING and even as I sat in the theater last Dec watching this on the big screen I couldn't help but think, "This is going to be amazing on 4KBD" and it is. The production quality of the movie combined with gorgeous special effects pop off the screen in the 3D version, and when you want to take it to the NEXT LEVEL pop in that UHD disc and remember why you own a 4K TV (hopefully a Sony model). Words can't express how awesome this movie looks in true 4K so I will stop typing now.

Great movie that is so much better in 3D! If you have the means, get it.

When Passengers was released, it seemed as though a bevy of negative reviews killed what was set to be one of the biggest hits of the year. A combination of high budget science fiction and a romance between two of the most charming and popular actors working today seemed like the perfect recipe, but it was one plot point, one I wont spoil here, that left such a sour taste in the mouths of some that they were outspoken in their disgust. The plot point in question concerns a moral dilemma and despite the film's attempts to address that dilemma head-on, it was too much for many people to overcome and transformed the romance into something they couldn't enjoy. For me, that plot point was interesting and I felt it was handled well enough to overcome any discomfort. Moreover, the rest of the film worked quite well, particularly the somewhat sparse but awe-inspiring sequences featuring jaw-dropping special effects. The nightmare answer of what would happen if you were swimming in a pool and gravity suddenly disappeared is a real standout. It will likely all come down to your opinion of the film which will largely come down to that one plot point, but if you enjoyed the film, it's hard to find any fault with this release. Too often over the last year, I've been forced to try and choose between the 4K or 3D release of a film or otherwise decide if it was worth making a double purchase. Here, you get the gorgeous looking film in every format you could want and with the unfortunate backlash against the film lowering the price, it feels like an easy purchase to make.

Space travel, romance, and issues of morality and mortality---what more could you ask for? It was a good movie about the real possibilities of travel to other places and how long it would actually take to get there. Let me start by saying, the chemistry between these two actors is excellent. That said, do we have to make a giant leaps of faith at the end-----sure but that's the love conquers all that people want. Do we need to ditch a bit of reality even for sci-fi people to get there--yes. Is it still entertaining and worth your time---for sure. Great movie to watch with a date or sweetheart.

I got the code to my digital copy almost immediately after pre-ordering. For whatever reason, my preferred store was unavailable for store pick up so I'm getting my physical copy 2 days after the release because it is being shipped to me. I guess I was a little luckier than the previous reviewer because my digital copy works. It is only HD and not UHD for the digital copy. I guess Sony hasn't bought into UHD digital copies yet??? Anyway, I would say this movie is 4/5 stars and the purchasing experience is also 4/5 stars. Can't get it the day of the release is an automatic star reduction.

My wife and I love Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence, so the two of them together seemed like a no-brainer - and we were right. The combination of their acting talents makes this a must-watch for fans of either one. The plot is somewhat predictable, but with enough surprises to keep it from just being another cookie-cutter romance. Absolutely worth the watch, and the addition of little references and nuance hidden throughout added lots of fun for avid movie fans.

Finally a sci fi film about the future with NO GUNS or fighting or killing or blowing stuff up!!! There still is conflict and danger things blowing up on their own OF COURSE. But its marginal. Of course i am talking about Passengers and in a 4k/3D all in one pack! for only $25/6 and lots of cool bonuses like the promo videos for the starship spoiler alert: the most unbelievable things in it are a ship with lots of people but only one doc?! and that after 500 years the ships dont improve over time?!

The film is overall entertaining, and I had little problem enjoying it for what it is. What held it back in my opinion was its' reluctance to explore some of the darker sides of the plot which are barely hinted at, and which the film would have done well to delve into as a character study. Instead the film fell back on more familiar tropes regarding character love stories. However, it was still worth a watch.
