I actually purchased a different computer first, one with comparable specs, but ended up returning it because I just wasn't impressed with that brand / model. I asked the salesman at Best Buy what he recommended, and without hesitation he pointed to this one. I got it, and couldn't be more pleased. It is much faster and all around a better machine. The solid state drive is incredible, and now for me, a must-have. My first step with new computers is usually to disable several functions in Startup to enhance speed (e.g., OneDrive), but with this one, before I got a chance to do that, I realized I didn't need to. Would buy it again in a heartbeat.

This pc is ready out of the box, with 8gb ram. Fast powerups/restarts, loads video quickly and runs fast. Add another 8gb stick to the other slot and a graphics card for more speed and possibly higher level gaming. Needs more usb slots on the front - ONE (1), are you serious??? Runs quiet compared to my old computer, no heat issues a month in.

Ample storage and fast boot time. Great Small Desktop for the average PC user. Just remember to change the default storage from the SSD to the 1 TB drive or your storgae will be gone fast on the boot drive. Easily to change with Windows 10. I left a setup for instructions under questions ask for someone's question on the subject.

I've used HP desktops for years, so when I found myself in a situation where I had to make a quick decision about a new system, it wasn't a hard choice to make. Plenty of memory and a decent price. My only complaint is that the CD drive holder seems a bit flimsy; not nearly as solid as it was on my previous tower. I appreciate that technology has moved away from CD storage to flash drives, but some of us are coming from older systems where CD storage was the way to go. I am concerned that it might not hold up well.

We purchased this item to replace an older HP computer running Win xP. All the new technology and performance inherent in this model is really a nice experience. Nothing is slow anymore and it has become a pleasure to use a computer again. The sale price BestBuy offered made this purchase a great value.

My primary use of a computer consists of reading email, word processing, reading blogs and monitoring investments. This computer processes faster than its processor, has a much larger hard drive, excellent graphics and much more memory for what is basically a entry level model.

I really love having the Solid State Drive because the computer boots in no time at all. The 1 TB hard drive is great for storing files, photos, music, etc. It's a little over two years old and it's still moving along!

Was looking for a few basic functions - solid state drive, decent speed & memory. Did not need all the bells and whistles for gaming etc. This machine meets all my needs, very pleased with the functionality and the support from HP

Good machine for the money. Has both a flash drive and conventional hard drive which makes for real fast boots and still has lots of storage. Optical drive is good but you have to load the CDs vertically which to me is awkward.

The HP Pavillion Desktop works perfectly. The 1TB hard drive has more than enough room for the casual user. Though the i3 is considered old school, it still performs like a champ. This desktop is a steal at its price.

I've only had the machine for a few weeks now and it performs great for basic tasks and even does a decent job with an RC flight simulator. It was easy to set up with dual monitors and is very quiet. I only gave 4 stars because it only has a single front USB port.

In short, I love this configuration where you have a SSD for super fast startups, and a separate 1TB hard drive for your data. I bought this has a refurbished and take extra time to check everything if offers even if you don't use it much. Example, I rarely have to use the CD/DVD drive and when I finally did need it, found out it doesn't work and I was pass the warranty for refurbish items. Besides this, I was happy with the price and am looking for another one to buy for my wife.

Bought this to replace an older computer at the front desk. The SSD makes a huge difference in startup and shutdown times. Web based software runs smoothly and locally stored programs on the SSD such as Office Apps and payment software are fast and responsive. Overall a great computer for front end of a business.

Good daily computer. Pretty fast and has pretty much everything you need for a basic home computer.

Good price easy set up.The Specs are very good for a mid level computer. It's got an SSD to hold the Windows 10, 8 GB of RAM and a 1 TB Hard drive for your data.

Nice affordable desktop to run Windows 10. The HP - Pavilion Desktop with 128 gig of solid state disk is instant on boot up. Includes 1 TB disk drive for holding lots of data. Not real speedy but it handles my needs well, email, Web, music pictures and Microsoft Office software. Easily connects to wireless WiFi Internet and printer. Be sure to do all windows and HP updates right away. Also I went from Vista on old PC to Windows 10 of this new PC and it was easy to learn.

Really fast start up and performance. SSD really improves application load.

The addition of the 128 GB SSD makes this desktop boot and start programs like an iPad. But there's a TB of hard disk on board, too. Makes Windows 10 hum.

Solid computer - fast, stable big memory. Great value. Been running strong for over a year.
