One of Kings best watched years ago on dvd and looks great on blu ray!!

So glad to see Pet Sematary on Blu-Ray. Classic Stephen King film!

A great scary movie that gives you a bit of the creeps.

Stephen King books do not always make good movies. The Shining, The Dead Zone and Christine are some good ones though. This is not. And it's not because it changes the story or anything. The basic story is here. But the movie is just boring. There is no story to it until literally the third act. It just meanders about and raises mysteries for about an hour and then finally unveils the point and story of the film. And by then, your too bored to care. The actor playing the lead character is also laughably bad. So bad that the two children in the movie actually give better performances than him. If you are a fan though, this is a satisfying release. But personally, I could not sit through it again.

A pretty good movie from the mind of Stephen King.

Besides a good performance from Fred Gwynne and some creepy atmosphere, Pet Sematary is nothing to write home about. Other than the dark premise (which is brilliant) Pet Sematary is a fun, but forgettable King adaptation. Many parts were overdone to the point of cheesiness, and illogic runs rampant The sad part is that the movie had the potential to be a great psychological/emotional horror film. The premise is great and carries real dramatic weight. However, they went for the lowest common denominator by replacing horror and emotion with cheap thrills and shocks. It's dumb fun . . . but it could have been soooo much more.

Pros: The movie alone. 4k Cool steel case. Cons: Returned after realizing it had no Amos for a 4k. Way over priced.

Pet Semetary adapts the novel just fine, it's just directed without intensity. The scares aren't very effective, the movie flows terribly without any sense of a plot. If you hadn't read the novel you would swear they were just making it up as they went along. The lead actor is also so boringly bad in his performance that the two child actors in the movie actually come off more convincing than him.

This was my first time seeing this. It's known for being a classic but it hasn't aged well in my opinion.
