They destroyed my favorite childhood movie. The only part I liked was the last 2 minutes. The only positives I can come up with are: the little boy who played Pete did a very good job when there was nothing there to act with, I was able to believe he was interacting with Elliott. Also I think Elliott looked cute, he reminds me mostly of my cat but facial expressions of a dog. I also loved the scenery. That was it. The negatives: Elliott's invisibility was weird, it never looked quite right. The story was disjointed and never really made sense. All the fun, sweet, and funny parts are gone and nothing ever replaced it. I was prepared for a little different story line but there was nothing the same except Pete and Elliott. The beginning is traumatic, we knew Pete was an orphan, we NEVER needed to see why. That was so not needed. I didn't care for most of the other acting. So many possible story lines were started but then they were just dropped. There was next to no music and what they did give us was depressing. Just really disappointed since the original has always been my favorite of the older live -action/animated movies. I wanted to like this so the but I can't.

Well, I do not think most fans of the original would like this as well.
