A bit dissapointed
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buying coffee at your local coffee house can get pretty expensive. With the Philips - Series 3200 Espresso Machine, you can have that latte, macchiato, expresso, etc. at the touch of a button. To start, the initial setup of the Philips - Series 3200 Espresso Machine can be a bit time consuming. You have to "activate" the included filter, test and adjust the water hardness, and a few minor steps. It doesn't sound like much, but each step requires somewhat of a time consuming process. When I went on to make my first cup of coffee (macchiato), I was a bit disappointed at the cup size settings. I placed a mug under the spout and it only filled half way, the most. I read over the instructions for troubleshooting, and it suggested that the filter "activation" process be re-done, so I went ahead and did it. It helped some, but only after a few tries will I get a bit more coffee to finally come out. Something else that I found irritating was the fact that hot water drips out of the spout towards the end, or sometimes in the beginning of the brewing process. It waters the coffee down and practically ruins it. As for the frother feature, it works pretty well. In all, for the price of the Philips - Series 3200 Espresso, I would say that I am not too happy about it.

Love our Machine

Press a button and walk away. Good sealed storage area for coffee beans. Usually refill beans once every two weeks. We love it. Fresh ground bean coffee means no more Starbucks. Means save alot of money.

Buy it, amazing machine

If you like coffee especially lattes and cap... do yourself a favor and buy it. I was skeptical but it was a gift for my daughter. After 3 days of effortless lattes I was sold. She's headed back to college with the dam thing so I have to buy another one for myself. Tips if yo get one- When it starts it purges some fresh water as it cycles. Once thats complete its ready to go. Only use whole bean , just fill the top and secure the lid and the machine does everything else. The only thing you have to do is empty the grounds when the bin is full. I was surprised how long we went before the light flashed to empty the bin. No filters just pout in the grounds and let the machine do its job. Its truly an idiot proof system once you know what each light means. There is one for low water, empty grounds, and empty overfill tray under the cup. If you love coffee buy it , this is by far the best money I have spent in the last 10 years. Buy a spare water filter, annoying when the light goes off after 5000 cups and you forgot to order it.

Horrible
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Not sure about the product but my experience with Best Buy was Horrible. I ordered the 4400 model over the phone and I received the 3200 model. Had to drive 3 hours to exchange. They didn’t have any 4400 models in store and couldn’t order any. They didn’t really even seem to care that it was ordered wrong by them in the first place. I had gotten $250 off for the 4400. I asked if I could keep the 3200 and have the same rebate. Didn’t seem right to get the lower model for the same inflated price. They said no. I was polite and wasn’t rude or anything. Not shopping at best buy again.

We've had it for two years and have had nothing but problems the entire time and Philips has been useless in correcting anything. The frother was the first to go - the entire LatteGo piece broke apart one day while steaming milk (only had the machine for a couple of months when it happened). I contacted Philips directly and they said it was a design flaw and sent a new frother. That piece worked for about 4 months, and the same thing happened again. I keep having to purchase the LatteGo piece at $60/each because of the same issue. The coffee hasn't been hot in months and we have adjusted everything we can and it's still lukewarm. And just within the last 2 weeks, the steam for the frother is coming out of the top of the machine instead of through the milk container. After looking online it looks like it's a part inside of the machine that needs to be replaced. It's not even worth taking it anywhere to get it fixed as we will still have the other problems. Now we are left looking for another machine that can't get here soon enough.

Worth this money

I think they should have a few more drink options for the price. We go through about 50 to 60 drinks a week in this: it is for sure worth the money.

Malfunctioning within 3 weeks

When making an Americano, it does not dispense water in your cup, it dispenses in the drip tray. This happens somewhere within the machine as you can’t actually see it. But pull out the drip tray and it is full of water. So the piece of crap machine does not work. Reset it to factory settings…still doesn’t work. Good luck getting hold of Philips product support. I was on hold listening to music for an hour. Did what they said, Machine still does not work. Tried calling product support again, but they close 3 hours before they say they do. Product support says they are open until 9:00pm in writing on their email back to you (to thank you for contacting them), but they are not. Even in these reviews they say they are open until 8:00pm. Nope. If you have to call them during the day, they want you next to the coffee machine to try to fix it. So be prepared to take a half day off work. For an $800 machine to not work, and to have such difficulty getting hold of someone at product support, this has been a very negative experience. DO NOT BUY. I have an $800 piece of junk. Best Buy’s return policy is also too short. By the time a person figures out this machine, Best Buy’s return policy timeframe runs out. Bottom line, the machine does not work, getting hold of Phillips customer service is extremely difficult, and Best Buy’s return policy is way too short. Then you are left with frustration. Do not gamble on an $800 espresso/coffee machine. DO NOT BUY

Philips needs to replace defective units.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lasted 2 months before the milk steamer broke. No longer steams milk or makes hot water. Support is a pain, and takes 4-6 weeks to fix. No other options were given even though the product only last a little over 2 months before failing. Pretty expensive product to only last 2 months. I think I'd either pick a cheaper product and steam the milk manually, or a more expensive product that is better made and provides better support for customers. Product support is not in the US and is the cliché pain in the butt that you would expect. Make sure to keep your receipt, I doubt I would have gotten service without it.

Stopped working three times in less than a year
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The lattego frother stopped working, sent it back for repair, it stopped again and sent it back for repair, then phillips emailed me even though the unit was under warranty they said they would no linger repair the frother that only coffee brew mechanism was under warranty. The frother would not froth milk it was just barely warm milk and it would dispense the entire contents of the milk no matter how what selection was pushed. Do not buy this buy a breville. It is still under warranty and i just ordered a breville.

Biggest mistake

I regret spending money on it every day. You never know how much coffee you’ll get. I calibrated it so many times, adjusted amounts of milk and coffee, but it just changing basically every time. Coffee is not that strong from it, is missing crema, and everyone has an issues with the frother cup. I wish I had buy different machine instead of this. It’s not worth this money.
