We've used it to keep my 3 1/2 year old Grandson happy on long car rides as well as getting him to calm down and go to sleep in hotel rooms. We also could hook it up to regular TV monitors and use it as a regular DVD player. It plays through normal road conditions without skipping or stopping

I love this portable DVD player because it enables me to only take my IPad and this when I travel. Since the IPad has no way of inserting DVDs, this is perfect to watch a movie that i own on a device. Also great to have its own travel case included. A good buy!

For the reasonable price, this unit delivers a good picture and is easy to use in the car for our grandchildren. I'd recommend it to others.

DVD player works as well as I had hope. Large screen, easy to use even for a little one. Would have preferred a lower price since this is not a dual screen.

Player is easy to use and good battery life. The only drawback is the quality of the image could be better.

I bought this to use primarily for my quilting dvds but I got sick and was in bed for several days. I used it a lot to ease the boredom. The picture was clear (with the screen tilted to avoid glare). The sound was clear. If moved there was no problem with the disc playing correctly. I am happy with the player.

This DVD player has excellent sound and picture quality. I also really appreciate the fact that there is an output port to permit viewing of the DVD on a device (like a TV) with a larger screen. I have experienced only two surprises. Under certain circumstances, that I haven't completely figured out, it doesn't remember where you previously stopped when watching a DVD. Also, it appears that it runs on battery power even when it is plugged in. I arrived at this conclusion because when I turn off the unit (while still plugged in), it indicates that it is recharging.

This is the 4th DVD player of this brand that I have owned. I always buy the warranty, and unfortunately my kids are hard on them and I have had to replace them a few times, but they work great

Portable, great screen, easy to operate, great $ value. A really great purchase. As I said, everything I expected.

This is the second one I've bought for my son durning car rides. First one still works and has survived years while being use by my son. He isn't easy on it either. Great product

I gave this product 3 stars because although it functions well, it died about 3 months after purchase and we had to send it back for a replacement. The replacement is still working (so far) so hoping the other defective DVD player was a one off and isn't indicative of the normal life of this product. I'd hope to get 1 - 2 years out of it before needing to replace it.

DVD player easy to use. Remote is handy. Case that holds it on seat top could stand improvement.

This is a 2nd Phillips 9" Portable DVD Player in our family . The 1st one, the Phillips 9" PD9000/37 has been heavily used by our little granddaughter. She uses it since October 2011 at home, in a car during long trips, at cottage. And so far, - no problem. It is easy to use. The quality and durability are excellent (even for a kid). So, when we needed a second DVD Player, we bought the same again. But it looks like the screen quality is much better, and the sound is improved. Cons: Not supplied anymore with a soft cover c/w straps to attach to the back of the car seat.

This DVD player is a life-saver and those long trips to the cabin. The battery lasts nearly 5 hours and the screen provides a nice picture. The kids really enjoy being able to watch their favorite movies when they're in the car for several hours.

This is a great DVD player which is easy to use with a good sound and picture.

This has saved my sanity with my 5 year old granddaughter!! We frequently take long car trips and she is as quiet as a mouse when she's watching a DVD.

We've taken this on car/plane rides. Works well, good volume and video. The only thing I don't like is that you have to have it turned off to recharge the battery.

It was a lifesaver, providing 8 hours of fun a day to my 1yr old and 3 yr old in the back seat while we were moving across country. Easy to set up. Easy to use. I keep hearing the Sesame Street theme in my head, tho...
