We bought this portable DVD player for the minivan for our kids, and it works well for this purposes. Some down sides on the functionality: Strapping the case to the back of the front passenger seat was fairly easy, but the carrying case started to tear. The remote control is line-of-sight, so you have to point the remote control at the player--a little challenging if you are driving. Additionally, you can't change the DVD when the player is strapped in the carrying case.

This is my favorite product. I purchase the for travel when I have niece and nephew in the car. This product entertains them during the ride 1500 hundred miles!

I bought this so my wife could watch a boxed set of Andy Griffith shows. She was in the hospital for 3 weeks and I thought this would help her pass the time. The hospital wifi was slow so DVDs were the answer. Didn't want to take an expensive laptop so we tried this portable. It wouldn't play about a fourth if the discs. They worked fine on my home player. Really a poor quality machine.

Bought this for our3 year old to see movies while waiting at airport and while on the plane. Upon opening it, the product seemed to look good until we turned it on. The screen shows way too many pixels. Even at a distance, the screen quality was terrible. We returned to player and used our iPad. Downloaded movies and we were good. Our 3 year old does not have access to electronics which is the only reason we bought this player. My iPadhas games which is what i was trying to avoid, but it ended up working out better. Do not buy!

It was the perfect gift for my 2yr old. She carries it everywhere. And even tho she's dropped it so many times and runs around with it, it doesn't scratch or turn off on her.

This would get five stars if the strap was longer so it could get around my Ford Expedition seat top. If you don't have an adjustable headrest, it won't get around the top of the seat. We had a four hour trip and it worked great for our son.

We purchased this as a Mother's Day gift because it was small enough to sit on a lap and watch DVDs, or mount if desired in another location. It is small, light-weight, and simple to operate.

Bought 2 Philips - 9 Widescreen TFT-LCD Portable DVD Player for my 3 and 8 year old for are summer vacation. 2 weeks on the road and they took a beating and still working. Drove from South Texas to Disneyland and back. And my kids loved them.

I bought these for my 5 year old granddaughter. So she could watch all her Disney DVDs. It works great and does everything we need it to do. She loves it too and learned how to use it very quickly.

Driving with a toddler for 7 hours can get tricky and showing a PG rated movie for 90 minutes is awesome quiet ...smile This DVD player doesn't have the best resolution but there were no complaints from the back seat.

Easy to load, easy to use. Bought this for our 3 yr old Grandson and he loves it. Better yet we love it because it's so easy for him to use. Great pictures, battery lasts a long time.

This portable DVD player is perfect for the car rides and watever else is needed to keep the children busy

Generally I liked it and I think its worth its price though I have not used it long enough to see how reliable it is. It has no USB port.

I actually only planned buying another charger for my son's former portable DVD player. When my 11 year old saw this, he had to have it. It is of good quality and the design in eye catching.

This player has a quality picture and seems to be durable. It is easy to operate and provides lots of entertainment to my kids.

easy to use but would like to see how they can fix it so that it does not fall out of the case while hanging on the back of the seat.

We bought 2 of these for a long family road trip. We bought the nicest one at Best Buy that day. It was great to have on the road trip but its not as nice as you would expect. The cases that come with the portable DVD players are just as important as the DVD players themselves. It allows you to hook them on the back of a headrest so the kids dont drop them on the floor or touch and break them and so they are in eye site so more than one kid could watch a movie at a time/ The cases were very THIN with a cheap material that came apart the first day on the road trip that put a damper on things because you could only use the DVD player if you held it in your lap. One of the DVD players did not have as good of a picture as the other did but they were the exact same brand and size, and one had more volume than the other... odd. So we took them back at the nearest best buy. If you are someone who wants these in your car 24/7 you might as well invest in the dvd players that are actually in the headrest because they wont last you even 6 months with kids.

Bought this for the kids, works great when they are down for a rest time. Have taken in on vacation also and worked perfect.

i had philips brand in my home from tv to speaker. so i think i can recommend this to everybody that this product more durable than the other.
