Extremely Bad Batteries

A couple of years ago, we bought 2 Phillips portable DVD players for the kids to use on trips, but the battery quit holding a charge on one of them after only a month and the other one stopped a few months later. So for the last 2 years, they could only watch movie if they were close to a power supply. So this past Christmas, we saw that Best Buy had a sale on the same units (Phillips Portable DVD player), so we bought 2 (assuming that they had fixed the problems with the batteries).....Here it is in early February, and both of the units are now doing the same thing. As soon as you unplug the cord, the units shut off. Now we have 4 Phillips Portable DVD players that work.......... but just not very portable.
