Battery life not as advertised. Case to hang unit is a joke! It didn't take anytime before it won't stay in it anymore. Would not recommend.

The device would not site right which made it hard to watch.

I received this DVD player for Christmas and I really love it! The picture quality is excellent, and the sound is especially good if you use earphones. It's very user-friendly, and I love the convenience of being able to watch a DVD whenever I want and wherever I want. I am now able to enjoy movies that my husband has no interest in seeing, even while he is watching something else on the TV! It plays off the battery for 5 hours, which is very convenient (and much longer than some other players), even though I often use the AC adapter if I happen to be sitting near an outlet. I highly recommend this DVD player; it's a great value for the price. The only thing I cannot vouch for yet is its durability, as I have only had it less than a month so far.

I bought the portable DVD player just for the fun of it. It was a great price on the "Deal of the day' offerings. Unfortunately after trying 3 different disks, I decided that it was defective and had to go back to the store to return it for a refund. Very disappointed!

I purchased this DVD player for my mom who was stuck in bed from back surgery. The clarity in the picture is amazing. The sound is clear. You have up to 5 hours of movie time. The company did tell the truth on this part. I love the charging light. It goes off when the DVD is fully charged. No guessing on if it's fully charged. I went back and bought myself one, for days when I just want to watch tv outside on the patio. I would recommend this DVD to anyone who wants a good quality DVD.

Got this on a great sale just in time for a long car ride with a preschooler. Very simple to use... really didn't even need the instructions. Picture and sound quality are good for a portable player, and if you shut it off, accidently or not, it re-starts where you left off. That is the default setting but is optional if for some reason you don't like it. Battery life seems good but it does also include a car charger which isn't mentioned on all descriptions of the product. Also includes a pouch to hang it from the back of a car seat. This doesn't look real sturdy but if treated gently it should be useful. Never skipped or stopped while driving. A very nice basic DVD player that was well worth the cost.

This portable DVD player is great for my 4 year olds son. He loves it and use it almost everyday to watch his favorite movies. The picture and sound quality are fabulous. It's easy to use and it also comes with a small remote control. Great look and light weight. I bought it on black Friday 2011, it was a great price $69.99 with excellent quality of the product. We bought this for a cross country road trip for my two year old. We had bought another one from a discount store and returned it due to the excessively noisy mechanisms, poor quality sound ( like a rattle), low volume, and an overall “cheap” feel. I was apprehensive about this one, but I was pleasantly surprised. The Sound is clear, crisp, and LOUD! It runs smoothly and quietly. It seems to be have a higher quality shell than the others and seems more durable. The fact that it came with all the car accessories is just the icing on the cake. My only complaint is that the volume cannot be adjusted with the remote, and changing the DVD while in the car case is a bit of a hassle. I have already recommended it to friends.

The DVD sucks . I was playing my cds on it and it kept skipping . my car dont have a cd player so I was to use this .Almost throw my cds out when use on a Sony player it was working great. Return it.

I drive van for a charter school. It is a half hour drive to school and I needed something to occupy my passengers and keep them quiet. This DVD player is awesome !! I go to the library and get stacks of kids movies and what a peaceful van ride I have now. If a movie ends on the trip, we can then discuss the movie. This beats playing "I spy" a gazillion times. It is a very simple to operate player - no complicated buttons, which is great for kids. The remote is great, too. I can let one of the older kids have the small remote so no one is messing around with the player unsupervised. It never skips or freezes - even on the roughest roads. I also plan to use this camping for those nights when it is raining out and you have played cards long enough !!

not sure why it quick working. bought on a road trip and used it for 2.5 hours and now it will not work.

I bought this portable DVD player right before a bus trip during Thanksgiving time and it was perfect for what I needed. I was in desperate need to watch some TV shows that were accumulating in my queue and knocked them out on the bus ride with this player. Durable, portable and good picture quality - and a good price for what I had been seeing around. I even use it at home for convenience sake. Would definitely purchase again.

I really do love my new portable 9 inch wide screen DVD player. The picture is very good and the sound is also good. I work nights and it comes in handy when nothing is going on. With the 5 hour battery, you can watch more than one movie without recharging.

Purchased recently for a long plane trip with children after doing a lot of research. Even with a lot of turbulence during one point during the flight, the DVD never skipped. The picture is pretty good and the sound is decent considering the size of the player. It's super easy to charge up and use right out of the box. The on/off switch is really tight and wish it wasn't so hard to use, that's probably my main complaint so far. The casing seems a little light weight for the size of the screen, etc. so I'm careful with it and supervise the kids when they're using it in a place where it can be dropped. I don't think it's cheaply made, but I don't think it will hold up to a lot of abuse. Also, not realated to this product, but a heads up if you're buying this for use by kids and air travel: when buying kid headphones, keep in mind the environment you'll be using them in. While I love that they have a lower max volume than standard headphones, it's nearly impossible to hear the sound on a noisy airplane.

We were looking for something durable to replace the last two broken Panasonic players. Although we haven't owned it long enough to form a confident opinion about durability, this one feels sturdier, and we've been satisfied with its ease of use and picture quality, though the screen is smaller and it is a little more expensive. Then again, it likely wouldn't survive being stepped on or left on the basement floor before a flood, which is what did the first two in. The essential controls are intuitive and easy to find and use in a darkened room.

I bought this dvd player for my 10 year old based on the screen size, reasonable price and good reviews. I was pleasantly surprised at the picture quality and battery length. I also really like that it has two headphone inputs, so multiple people can watch quietly. Frankly, for the price I was expecting mediocre, and instead got more than I bargained for. This is an easy to use, durable quality player, perfect for the kids..keeps them entertained and holds a great charge.

This Phillips was perfect for my 2 year old daughter. We frequently make trips over an hour or two long one way and she loves being able to watch a movie in the truck. Some of the roads where we live aren't paved and even with the terrain like it is the player doesn't skip. She has dropped it a few times as well and still no problems. The price was a steal as well we bought it for around $60 shipping included. The battery life also seems to be better than the 5 hr life it says in the product info. We have watched over 3 movies without charging it. I honestly have no complaints

Bought the Philips 9" Widescreen TFT-LCD Portable DVD Player for my kids to replace the headrest mountable players we had previously. For $70 and free shipping, it is really worth the money. The 9' screen is much nicer than the 7' we previously had. Now that our kids are well into elementary school, its time to move up from the headrest mount to the lap player. Plus, they can take it with them anywhere with ease. The best feature is the long battery life. I'd rather do without the white case, especially for kids, but its not a deal breaker. The picture quality is good for players of this price, but is certainly not the quality of a high definition IPAD. The sound levels are adequatte for either headphone play or speaker. Don't expect much from the bag that is included. We ended up using a different one that was more durable and had pouches for headphones, cords, etc. Overall good quality, especially for the price.
