I purchased this 9" DVD player to carry in the console of our minivan, to use on trips back and forth to the grandparents for my daughters to watch something. We'd bought a 7" Philips previously, but our 3-year old was rough on it and its screen quit working (we now use it in-home with the output cable to connect to our TV and it works great, so I still trusted the Philips brand). This player was advertised at $69.99 around Black Friday, so I ordered online to pick up in store. No frantic mad dash to wait in line and I was able to get a deal better than Wal Mart, Target, or Sears could compete with. We got a bigger screen, a remote control, and a mounting kit (which is not to most convenient to work with) with this unit that others didn't offer. We definitely got our money's worth, especially considering the regular price of this unit. If the sale price dips that low again, I would definitely recommend picking one up. Even at regular price, I feel this model is definitely worth the splurge.

Bought as a Christmas gift for someone who lives in a rehab facility and is taking regular chemo. Good screen size and battery life for long days and nights when a quiet movie is needed.

This is a pretty nice little DVD player. It is very quiet, easy to operate, and has a nice picture. Much better quality than I expected.

Won't play when connected to any tv I tried it on.

I bought two of these DVD players for my 3 year old twins. They absolutely love them. They have a good picture quality and they are easy to use. I haven't used them yet in the car, but I plan to. It seems like it will be pretty easy to snap right onto the headrest. I really liked the fact that the car kit was included. I would recomment this product.

Bought this dvd for my 2 year old,for overseas flights. She's using this dvd player every day .She even dropped it many times and still works like new.Long battery life,very easy to use.You can use ti with both NTSC/PAL dvds.Overall great product!!!

I loved our DVD player for the 4 months that it functioned. The quality was clear, it was easy to use, and the battery life was excellent. After four months, the lens quit acknowledging that a DVD was in the player. I called the Phillips company and the technician instructed me on how to clean it. That did not resolve the problem so they instructed me on how to obtain a replacement. I followed their instructions and they sent me an email informing me that they could not process my request as sent. I resent it according to their specifications, and they now not only won't send a replacement, they won't acknowledge my emails. I will NEVER again buy a Phillips product because of this transaction.

I initially purchased this DVD player for my son for our upcoming trip out of the country, but upon receiving, I'll probably be using it for myself as well. It is very light weight. In fact, it's much lighter than I expected. It's a little on the noisy side, but once you turn up the volume or plug in your headphones, you don't notice the noise from the DVD spinning. Philips claims a battery life of 5 hours. So far, I've only used it for about 2 hours.

I bought this on thanksgiving week @ an excellent deal almost half the price. It is not only a player, its a complete kit. Moreover, I liked the 5 hour battery. We went for a vacation to hawaii and my daughter likes seeing dora in it. She used to carry the player and run with it. And also, it really gave around 5 hour battery life. Picture clarity is pretty good. The Player is very quiet. It also has a porsche look. Definitely recommend this.

The quality of the picture is good, but could be better. It takes a some time to load the DVD, but the battery lasts a very long time, whitch is great to keep my toddler ocupied for a while in the restaurant.

We use this player for trips with our kids, whenever we drive more than 1 hours. It works extremely well. The battery life is pretty long, about 5 hours. The sound was loud enough. Picture quality is good too. Kids enjoy watching it. The best thing is that it's pretty reliable. We have used it for more than a year without any problem.

I use this DVD player when we travel especially by plane. It really does go 5 + hours of run time. The sound quality is good unless you have a louder background noise like on an airplane, then headset is better for sound. It's light and easy to travel with.

I received this DVD player for Christmas and I really love it! The picture quality is excellent, and the sound is especially good . It's very user-friendly, and I love the convenience of being able to watch a DVD whenever I want and wherever I want. I am now able to enjoy movies. It plays off the battery for 5 hours, which is very convenient (and much longer than some other players), even though I often use the AC adapter if I happen to be sitting near an outlet.I highly recommend this DVD player; it's a great value for the price. Good price, great quality.

So far, so good! Haven't used it too often in the two months I've had it, but it seems to work well. Battery life is good, picture quality is very good, audio is very good. It connects well to other devices to project both picture and sound. I was looking for something basic and durable; the Philips 9" portable DVD player was a good price. And the sale price for the 9" screen was less than I found for most 7" models.

My Wife and I have a 2 year old who hates traveling in the car. A friend had let us barrow his portable DVD player when we flew home to Ohio (2.5 hour trip). We were worried that she would act out on the plane because she doesn't like to sit still in one place very long as most 2 year olds wouldn't. The portable DVD player was such a blessing and everyone on the plane commented to us after the flight how she acted so good and better than older kids on the plane that were acting out. I did a lot of research before purchase one and saw this one had great reviews, large screen, and a long battery life (perfect for long road trips). No traveling is much more pleasurable and it comes with both AC power as well as car charger. Great buy

Besides being super durable this is a nice little DVD player. The picture is great and the sound is pretty darn good too. The reason I was compelled to write a review is that my 2 year old uses this player and beats the heck out of it and it just keeps working. Its been dropped several times, he has spilled stuff around it and yet it still works. The only thing I will say is the holder that comes with the player for the car headrest is a little flimsy but heck it comes free with it so I cant complain. Awesome product its nice to see something that doesnt break after a month of use.

If an item comes with a remote what do you think are the two main features you want offered? To change the channel and volume! This remote allows you to fast forward,rewind, menu to fix closed captioning and etc. IT DOES NOT HAVE A VOLUME part on the remote! I am amazed I looked at my user manual, even took it to Best Buy in regrets that I was right no way to turn the volume up and down! Everything else I liked about it but find it inconvenient if I get a phone call and need to turn it down would have to pull over and do it, instead I just leave it at a reasonable sound! But overall am impressed with lightness,quality and price! I will be contacting Phillips in regards to this issue!

Great portable DVD player, easy for my daughter to operate and great to take a long car rides. Quality of picture is good! Comes with a remote however I don't really use it, but nice to have. Comes with a great case and headphones too.
