This is a good product that works as advertised and helps convert your old tapes.

Wanted a product that would simply capture my old home movies and create a DVD. This product comes with an overly complex application with a crazy number of options and gyrations required to get through the work flow. Then when finally at the point to burn the "project" to DVD, it crashes every time at a different point . Never made it all the way through to get a usable DVD. Also, when capturing you have to be there to manually stop the capture process. Otherwise you end up with an extremely long and large capture file that has to be edited down. No capture timer to set or automatic detection when the tape ends. Wasted a lot of time trying to deal with the SW complexities and crashing problem. Ended up returning the product and buying one of the slightly more expensive Vidbox products that promised a simple workflow from tape to DVD. Haven't tried it yet tough.

This came in handy for making my tapes upgraded to DVD.

A gift for my friend, he enjoy making his own dvds.

Was not able to make it work . Difficulty reaching an agent o the phone. Recommend use by person fimilar with the program and computer savvy.

I imported some VCR tapes into my computer. Then when I played the video the audio went out of sync after less than a minute. The longer the video played, the more out of sync it became.

It advertises that it works with Windows 7 but I keep getting error messages and at this point I have not been able to get it to work

This product will be a fun tool if we ever figure out how to use it. Not all the required cords and such are included. Some previous knowledge of similar products and installations are required. The box does not tell you what is required for operation

Although the best buy person said it was compatible with mac. When we got home we realized it wasnt and returned product

I get delays from when starting to record to when the software actually begins to record the videos.

Overall works well connected to my VCR and my computer. I read some of the negative reviews that complained about freezing. The unit did have some strange behavior when I connected it to the front USB port on my computer. When it switched it to one of the rear ports, the problems went away. This device is powered by the USB port, so it can have issues if there are too many USB devices connected or if it is on a hub with other I/O devices. For those having problems, try to get a high power USB hub and plug that into your computer and try that. Make sure you don't have other programs running either, especially if your computer is more than a couple years old. The only complaint I have is that there were no cables included, that would be a nice perk, as trying to find an S-Video cable nowadays is tough.

Store personnel steered me to this item on 2 occasions. Never informed me that it could not be used with all computers.
