It's alright but didn't push much power to my speaker and I didn't have it 30 days and had to send it to get fixed because it just stopped working on day.

Overall, this is a good unit for the sale price of $180 or less. It covers all the modern codings and most importantly generates really great sound. Running the Pandora TV app through this receiver is a super experience. I am using this unit with toslink input from a Vizio E55 TV and output to a 40 year old pair of altec lansing 12" cabinet speakers. I am using Signal Auto Detect, Stereo Auto Level Control, and Front Center Stage processing. The sound is fantastic. Bass is deep and clean and higher sounds are crisp and their locations are clear. I replaced an older analog NAD receiver that just did not sound good with the RCA output from the TV. I don't need the backstage speakers yet but if I do the receiver is ready. The cons are the front and remote controls. The front controls are written in small dark font and impossible to see without a flashlight. The remote has buttons for Pioneer televisions which don't even exist anymore and a very confusing number pad at the bottom with overlapping functions. You have to study the manual to figure out the controls. Setting FM radio presets is a miracle. The onscreen display is pretty weak.

I replaced a receiver that I had for many years. This one has great value for a low cost. It was easy to connect, and produces a great sound. With running the HDMI through the receiver, I was a little nervous that it would require having the receiver powered on constantly. That isn't the case, if I just want to watch TV, it will pass through the signal/sound and use the TV speakers. I would recommend this.

    Fan of Pioneer

I bought this receiver primarily because of its blue tooth capabilities. I wanted to be able to play music from my Iphone to my speakers and with my old Sony receiver was not able to do that. I'm a fan of Pioneer in general, as I do believe they produce quality items. This receiver is a great value for the price. The set up was easy, and it has been working great thus far.

Bought this product Jan 16, 2016 & today's date is May 21, 2016 and in the last 2 weeks the sound has gone out on 2 of the 3 HDMI ports & I have to keep changing the TV to a different port to get sound to come thru on the TV. I'm on my last port. Will be contacting Pioneer.

I needed a receiver to replace a very old Sony unit that was built in the pre-HDMI days. This receiver has all the I/O I needed to connect Cable TV set-top box (HDMI), BlueRay Disc (HDMI), internet WiFi radio (RCA analog) and to the TV via HDMI out. Connections and setup were a breeze, and it all connects to my Harmony remote to automate all the switches and settings flawlessly. A very straightforward and sufficient unit with plenty of sound output. I must say that things sound better than ever and I don't have to play so loudly to receive clear sound output, especially with vocals that were a bit muddy with my old system.

Great deal on open box but the receiver would only work intermittently. Fortunately, BB made it right by offering me a great discount on a new song receiver. Great return policy and satisfaction service

    USB Connection Not Apple Friendly!

    Posted .

I bought this unit to replace a 12 year old Onkyo receiver that was still functioning fine. The reason was that I have transferred a great deal of music to my iPod Classic and the old Onkyo offered no way to connect the iPod to my sound system. The Pioneer VSX-530-K promised that the USB port on the front of the unit could be used to connect an MP3 player. Only after buying and setting up the Pioneer unit and finding that the iPod was not playing through it and then referring to the Pioneer manual did I discover that the USB connection does not work for iPods or iPhones. Now the Pioneer has Bluetooth and that can be used for music on my iPhone 6s or that I've stored in the Amazon Music Library but my faithful iPod Classic is not Bluetooth enabled, so I seem to be SOL. Also, it should be noted that since this unit seems to have been designed for home theater use, there is no dedicated input for a CD player but using the DVD input works just as well. Sound is OK but not better than my old Onkyo. If Best Buy and Pioneer had been more forthcoming about the USB limitations, I might have purchased a different model (at a higher price for you, Best Buy!)
