great burner. burns cds quick and able to read dvds

Purchased this to go along with a new iMac. Haven't used extensively, but the first few Blu-rays that I have burned have been done correctly. USB3 connection is pretty fast for the amount of data burned, it is not overloud while burning discs so far. Included cable is a little short, but I am making it work.

Overall, it does what the summary states for the areas I have used. It plays CDs, DVDs and Blu Rays with no issue on movies I have played. 4 stars as I had to download a firmware update and a utility to make it work properly. Will see how well it writes next to different type CD media.

This unit is a great alternative to a expencive blu-ray internal drive for your computer and runs pretty fast. Used it several time to play & rip Blu-ray disks and works pretty great.

Within seconds of plugging it into my computer it automatically installed the drivers and was ready to work without a problem. I have used it on all of my computers without a problem, and the fact that it is powered through 2 USB ports is amazing. This is the best Blu-ray reader i found for the price.

I have a Mac with the dvd burner and although my movies came out good when I would burn them with it this new burner makes my movies look professional. It is night and day.You do have to by blu ray dvd to use with it but it is well worth the extra cost. My home movies have never looked better.

I checked a few reviews. Found out quickly this is the one to get. Been using it off and on for awhile. No issues once so ever. I was amazed, usually , I always have some kind of problem. This was simple plug and play. Done , start using it . Within minutes. I’m Very Happy with it.

THESE ARE EXCELLENT DRIVES AND THIS IS MY THIRD BURNER , HAVING THE BLACK ONE AND THE MAC STYLE WHITE ONE..ALL THREE ARE IN USE..NEVER HAD PROBLEM COPYING AND TRANSFERING MY OLD HOME VIDEO DVD COLLECTION OR BLU RAY TO "M-DISC"....THEY WILL HANDLE ALL TYPES OF BRAND MEDIA..HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Purchased this as and addition to my laptop. It connected easily and had me burning within minutes. I have done twenty disks in the last few days and all without errors. Great product for the price.

It is decent. I use it on my Surface pro and on my laptop. It is very noisy though, and can be very distracting. However it does get the job done, although I would probably spend more to get something better.

I bought this product for use on a 12 hour flight to Asia. It did what it is supposed to do. Only thing is I have to buy an aftermarket program to play bluray since apple does not support blurays. Further this program is from outside of the U.S. Hence I was charged a foreign transaction fee even though I paid through PayPal.

Finally an inexpensive Blu Ray Player/Recorder for the Mac. It works flawlessly and is very quiet. I would have given it 5 stars but you have to purchase software to get it to work with the Mac so that's an added expense.

Works great with my Mac. Portable and quiet. You may need to have a USB extension cable because the drive needs to be powered via two USB ports on some computers and the provided cable does not reach all the way around a MacBook Pro. Playing discs on one port works fine with our two year old MacBook Pro, so I'm not sure what computers will need to use the two port connection. Otherwise this product is great! Thanks.

This portable disc drive works great on my iMac and has had ZERO burning errors on all the discs I've burned, from blu-rays to DVDs, its been great.

I asked a salesperson about the cost of one movie. This version was $7 more than the other versions of the same movie. His answer was that it's because that version has a metal holder for the movie instead of plastic. I thanked him, put it back & got the other type.

My Mac laptop DVD eject latch broke. The Apple store told me that my Mac was old and they do not fix older models and for me to take it elsewhere. When I heard that there were external DVD drives, I was so happy to find a product that could record and play not only DVD but also Blue Rays! There were two brands at the store but I chose Pioneer because I know they are reliable. This product requires two USB ports. Luckily, my computer had them (it wasn't that old!), I only wish the product could be used with both Mac and PC.

The drive works okay, but I wish better software was available from Pioneer. When I used the software that come with it, it would not even recognize the drive, even though I could see it with other software. Pioneer, please provide better software with your optical drives.
