It's a Blu-ray player, nothing special. The only thing I don't like about is is that you need a program to run this player (unless you want to use the one issued already) and it's a clam shell design (I prefer the open slot design). If you can get past that then your good to go!

I'm not sure why such a small drive is so loud, but it definitely performs well on my Mid-2012 Macbook Pro and 2015 iMac with a sharp and clear image during playback of Blu-ray movies.

Pioneer USB 3.0 Quad-Layer Blu-ray Disc Drive is very helpful in copying for backup large files that can be stored away for future use. I use it for my iMac and my Dell desktops and both recognize the unit instantly when set up and connected.

Only had it for couple of days. The disc copy program I purchased for this did not work. It plugged and played as advertised the 4 days that I used it. You will need a blu ray playing software to take full advantage of the drive. Seemed to be built pretty solid.

Works on MAC and PC computers. No Playback software. Seems a bit slow for a usb 3.0 device. Has a dual usb 3.0 cable in case there is not enough current supplied by your usb port. Suggest hooking up directly, and NOT through a usb hub.

I hated how my Macbook Pro didn't come with a CD/DVD drive, but this is even better than having it part of my computer. Super easy to connect and use. Importing speeds are great

I needed to be able to use some CD software and new laptops don't usually have a CD drive. This is great. I share it with my children when they need a CD drive because it's so portable! It stores easily in my laptop case or laptop backpack.

I purchased this drive to act as a replacement for my failing DVD/RW built into my iMac. I use this to make MKVs of my DVD and now Blu-ray movies and have not run into a single problem. Its nice being able to pack it up and use it with my laptop as well.

The good news? I was able to play blu-ray movies on my MacBook Pro. The bad news? Had to purchase software and an extra USB port to plug the device into my MacBook. It requires two USB ports side by side for data and power. Haven't used it to burn discs.

I purchased this as the laptop I purchased didn’t include a cd drive. Since I have a digital camcorder I figured I could now burn the digital media over to blue ray disks. Small in size, just wished it was more reasonably priced.

Lightweight and quiet. It does not come with any software for burning or viewing Blu-ray or DVDs. After buying a cheap no brand drive and having many issues with it, I would recommend this drive for the price and quality.

Purchased with new MacBook Pro 2017 to connect to plug in hub to enable use of CD or DVDs for installations or video watching. Have only used couple of times but worked very well. Can only open it when it is powered on to be able to remove any disc.

I wanter a Blu-ray reader for my MacBook to rip scenes from movies and TV shows that I can use in my science classes. The only software I've been able to find makes it a clunky two-step process but that is not the fault of the drive, it works great.

I use this to rip my discs to my personal media library so I don't have to worry about my kids destroying them. It works like a charm. Very convenient since I didn't have to install an internal drive. Just unplug and slow it until it's needed again.

I had the Bluray/dvd player for 2mos. and it works on any format I throw at it. Would give it 5 star, but the plug in cord is only about 12" in length. You should be able get on extension at any retail store

The drive connected to Windows 10 with no driver installation required from a disk or internet download. The drive is speedy and is not excessively loud.

Purchased this product without reading reviews; pleasantly surprised with the overall quality. Only drawback is the lid of the product pops open which makes the product seem kind of chintzy. Overall, great product for the price.

Make sure you go to the pioneer website and down the driver utility to max out the read/write speed of this 6x drive. It will default to the quiet mode which only reads at around 2x. This drive has been very useful and works great.

It's small and compact. Quiet. Works fine with my MacBook Retina Display. Only downside is that the USB power supply isn't long enough to reach both ports so I used a USB power hub that I have. I'll be buying a short extension or a small hub soon.
