Make sure you have a PC or Mac with available side by side USB ports, a 3.0 USB port for data and a 2.0 USB port for power. It comes without software, so make sure you buy Power DVD software to play and burn movies on DVD, Blu Ray and CD.

This external disc player works well with DVDs, but is quite noisy when reading them. I have not been able to figure out how to use my Blu-ray Discs in the player.

The salesman in Best Buy sold me an Apple drive. I told him my MacBook Pro was an early 2011 model. Needless to say I got it home and it wouldn't work, I called my son and he told me to buy this one. Have been very happy with it.

Bought this external drive since my Lenovo laptop didn't have a DVD/Bluray drive. For the Price it was a steal and works fine using my one USB 3.0 port. I did not need to use the second cable for extra power. So far a Great drive, Even though it states it's mac only it will work with Windows PC. Just remember it doesn't come with Software to play movies. You will need to supply that but it's easy to find Freeware online for that.

Plug 'n Play - works great. I downloaded a free BluRay player App for my MacBookAir - plugged in the Pioneer External USB 3.0 Blu-ray Disc Drive and watched a great movie in glorious 1080 HD!

I purchase this external DVD player as portable add-on for my new laptop. If you plan to play Blue-ray movies with this player, you'll need to find a third party compatible software codec. There is no software included.

Installation was quick and easy for Windows 8 & 10. Lacks software for burning and playback. Burning took about three hours using Ashampoo software(free trial) at 6x speed. 17gbs of video.

I needed to drive to back up some of my files in this one works really well. It took me a while because my Mac would not read it but once I downloaded the proper drivers it worked flawlessly. I love it.

It starts out a little loud at the beginning and then is quiet for the remainder of the time. Works great with MacBook Pro…no problems at all.

This drive has been as advertised and with no problems. I have burned several 3 layer discs with no problems but I can't afford the 4 layer discs, so can't comment on the burn capabilities.

This blu-ray drive was easy to set up. It works great. It is very fast. You just have to download some drivers to work with Windows 10.

Gave to my daughter for Christmas. She has a Mac Air and had to spend the better part of an hour finding An app/program to run this player. Mac Air does not like the blue-ray portion I'm told.

The drive seems to work well. The only issue I have is that the "Open" button does not seem to work well when there is a disk in the drive. I have to Open the drive from the "eject" button on the computer.

I needed a DVD player for my computer that I can also use to record dvd's. This one works and was very reasonably priced. It is lightweight and portable. I haven't used it for recording recording yet.

Worked well with Windows 10 once I installed media software. Windows 10 discontinued their media player due to codec pricing issues.

Nothing too surprising on the volume of this device. If you’ve used a disc player at any point in the past 20 years then you know what to expect. It does what I need it to do.

This is a very nice blu-ray drive. It is very light, and requires two USB port, one for data and one for energy. The reading is fast and very quite. After watching a full movie the drive is still quite warm.

I purchased this specifically to watch DVD's and Blu Rays with my new laptop. It works great and I have encountered no issues after using it for over a year. I would definitely recommend this.
