Doesn't Work with All Blu-ray Disc

I tried four different disks, old and new. I made sure the player was fully up-to-date. It played DVD without any issue. Had to return it. Bummed, as I really like the USB 3.0 feature.

Not what I expected

I just didn't like it because it was not useful for me. It does not play Blu-ray out of the box for my iMac, you have to buy software (app) to play them, which is an additional $20-$25. I will stick to buying Blu-rays with the digital copy included.

Sad birthday present

Sadly when it wouldn't play blu-ray he did some on line research and found out the government has put a restriction on Blu-ray players. So what I thought would bring joy brought frustration and disappointment. Like giving him a lump of coal as a gift.

Pioneer External BD/DVD Burner

I was looking at several external DVD burners, but to get a blu-ray burner for not much more made the decision easy. Works great out of the box. As many have pointed out, you'll need separate software if you want to play blu rays. Great drive overall.
