Great receiver but set-up for non technology savvy buyers is difficult. Also, unable to stream inet through the box to get things like netflix with the sound system.

I like this product but for my simple, at home, applications it is a bit too complex.

Purchased it and tried to set it up for several hours before I got discouraged and took it back thinking I was not a smart as the machine. Geek squad hooked it up at the store and it didn't work for them either. I figured out two things that afternoon. 1. I didn't want it. 2. I was not a challenged as I thought I was.

Great Receiver and Value for the Price

I purchased this receiver to replace an older Pioneer Elite receiver. The available options for connectivity are great! The fact that there is 3D upconversion, and many available HDMI's to choose from simplifies the need for so many cables. In addition the internet connectivity and the available option for BT, which I purchased, makes connecting a breeze. Finally the Pioneer app, allows to use my Ipad wirelessly. Lowest price among similar receivers. Can't go wrong with this one!

Unit has good sound and is easy to set up. Had enough hdmi for my needs. Quality of sound was better in store than in my house. May have to do some adjustments. Best Buy matched a price I found on line. Can not get my logitech remote to work with this unit.

    Great System-Great Sound

I bought this A/V receiver paired with Definitive Technologies ProCinema 600 for $899! It was a package deal that Best Buy had on sale and still on sale I might add! Talk about great sound. I mean wow. The MCACC (automatic acoustic calibration) worked perfectly, once I had a few speakers wired correctly! I ran speaker wires thru attic to ceiling and accidentally wired 2 speakers backwards. Stupid me. Once I figured that out, the setup was as breeze and perfectly calibrated. If you wanna truly test your sound system, pop in Gladiator. Holy Cow! Talk about blowing you away, especially if you've never had a really nice surround system like me. I've always had Bose and man, my new system blows the doors off of that Bose system. If you're in the market and on a budget, don't waste your money with a $500 in the box system. Pay a little extra and do it right. For $899, you can't find a better sounding system! Next project will be taking advantage of the 2nd zone available on this receiver by adding outdoor speakers out by the pool.

    This is not a ELITE!

I could go on and on. This receiver does 1/2 of what the next model up does. No up convert. No 2ed zone control. Only 60 watts per channel at 8 ohms. No app control from the phone except volume and input. No EQ! This thing only has BASS AND TREBLE like a stereo from the 80s. The auto cal only uses one point and it does a junk job. I took this thing back after 3 hours of reading the manual and to try and make things work. The problem is it not only does not work it just does not have it. I picked up a YAMAHA RX-V675BL It is the best receiver i have ever used. Out of the box it works and sounds great! I have used every brand known to man and i will never buy anything but Yamaha again.

    Good entry level receiver

I purchased the Definitive Technology ProCinema 600 surround sound set and needed a receiver to pair it with. I also needed enough HDMI ports to fill the multiple streaming, gaming, and tv products I have and this did the trick. The receiver didn't need to be amazingly powerful to make the def tech speakers sound good, so the VSX- 43 was perfect, though if you need a higher end tower set up I would recommend the SC series if you're a Pioneer fan. The advanced surround sound modes suck and have an odd echo to them, so just keep it in regular surround and it will be perfect.

I'm very pleased with this receiver and the ProCinema 600 speaker system I purchased. It took me a little bit to correctly set up the receiver and speakers to work optimally together but we'll worth it. I also went high end on the speaker wires and BFA connections from AudioQuest but makes a difference. I figured if I was going more high end on the equipment why not the wires that pull it all together for video and sound!

Purchased this bad boy in the Black Friday sale. Managed to get $200 discount. Great device for the price. Connected to my home network (hard wired not wireless) and managed to connect to it via my PC. Have internet blasting out as I write this review. Excellent unit, high recommend it.

    Better units for the price

This unit has some great features, but apparently at the expense of what you would expect to work. For example, the sub-woofer works fine on TV but not at all on tuner or DVD. The unit does not have video up (at this price you wouldn't expect it), but while it has component video in, it has no component video out! If you understand that, you know it's a pain. Sounds great, but it's going back. Also, it shuts off unexpectedly on occasion.

Unit meets my needs to have music everywhere

The unit offers many technical adjustments for inputs, outputs, and tweaking the performance--but this also creates complexity and frustration. Unit meets our needs to have mustic wherever in the apartment we want to listen -- usually to a single source/type of music rather than multiple channels simultaneously. We have not mastered the internet capabilities but it is nice to think there is ethernet and network .

You won't believe your ears. Neither will anyone else who hears it or sees movies that you pass through via HDMI. Buy it and don't worry about the price.
