Upgrading my HT system. I went to the Magnolia room (awesome service there!). Coming from a Denon 3802... I first listened to the Denon line-up.... then Yamaha... and finally this receiver. I couldn't believe how much richer it sounded. It has the warmth that I loved in my old Denon and the nice "highs" evident in the Yamaha receivers... Getting home with it... the set-up was easy and as a bonus.. the video process, which I really couldn't test, is fantastic! We couldn't believe the difference, it has breathed new life into my RPTV. There is an iPhone /iPad app for it, and it works great. I've run cable to mine, but to go wireless will require another purchase. Highly recommended!!

After my last receiver finally expired, I bought and exchanged 3 different units prior to the Pioneer Elite all of which claimed to work in mulit-room environments. None of them performed the function as smooth and simply as my 12 year old unit. Finally I bought the Pioneer Elite, and not only did it perform this function even better, but it also produced great sound, was easy to set up, had outstanding new technology, and exceeded my expectations. Two minor flaws with the unit are it's manner for entering alpha or numeric characters in set up of Sat. / Pandora / internet...etc., and the remote control is antiquated. The good news on the remote is that there is a decent app available for controlling the unit.

I was in the market after being completely frustrated by the Onkyo NR 616 and came across this receiver. The price was a little more than I wanted to spend but it was worth every penny. My Klipsch reference speakers sound great at all levels and really shakes the house when it is cranked. Love the airplay feature and the ease of the auto setup. Great overall product and I couldn't be happier.

This receiver replaces an old Denon, Model 3803. I am beyond impressed with the sound (and video) processing. There's plenty of power and it has really awakened my Paradigm speakers. I have no regrets upgrading to this Elite SC series receiver.

I want to start by saying that I highly recommend this product for a buyer looking for a receiver in this price range. It is somewhat pricey for the average buyer, but it is a great value given its capabilities. In other words, I believe it offers audiophile-level quality and features at a price below most other audiophile-level receivers. Pros: -Power output: amazing and can even make cheaper speakers sound decent -MCACC setup: very straightforward and effectively optimizes sound for your specific environment / equipment -HarmonyOne: works very well with this device and includes most features of the standard remote -HDMI inputs/outputs: I can't imagine needing more inuputs. I do wish it had an additional output for zone 2 -Multi-zone: although I haven't used it yet, I believe this receiver is very capable of running 2-3 zones effectively. As mentioned above, I believe an extra HDMI output for zone 2 would be ideal -2 year manufacturer's warranty (most offer 1 year) -Aesthetics: very clean and modern like all Elite products Cons: -Remote control app: perhaps it is user error, but I'm pretty tech savvy and am having trouble setting it up -Airplay: I also use AppleTV and have found it to produce clearer sound than the receiver's Airplay function

I highly recommend this receiver for the discerning high end multimedia / home theatre and full house sound system. It will not disappoint. Great value for the price.

Having experience with setting up systems, this was a quality set up. Though using BOSE AM 10's, can't wait to upgrade my surround speaker system. Even at lower volumes the sound from the BOSE speakers setup is clean. I love the dual sub output. I feel so spoiled I would not purchase anything less than a Pioneer Elite SC-61 or next model(s) up. Need to explore smart audio features, somehow I know I won't be disappointed. When I walked out of the store, I felt the envy of the sales staff.

Great receiver, really gets me all the power I need. Only issue, and it's a small one, is the interface menu is a little bland.

This reciever has all the bells and wistles, connect all your HDMI up to it in a hidden area and run one hdmi to your tv. Multi zoned so that you could hook up 2 areas with this one reciever. Though the reciever is enclosed and hidden from view, the heat does not build up. Plenty of power for my niles in wall speakers, sound great with no distrortion at sound levels that shake the floor and walls. Hook it up to a network and blue tooth, can be controlled from apple product or even Android phone.

Had issues at first with setting up the speakers but, now that it's up and running we love it! Sounds great. Buttons on the remote are small and can be hard to read, wish the remote had back lighting.

Bought the receiver for the switching and amplifier. Software need help. iOS apps work well, but limited. Should be able to set up the whole deal with them. Clunky and overly busy remote must carry the ball. You can get the job done, but it should be more intuitive and elegant. Finally setup, it's fine. Mac user's better have access to windows, either with another computer or via virtual app.

Powerful unit for the price - Not so easy to set up, but once it was done, the sound can't be beat and the surround effect is awesome! A more detailed instruction sheet would have been helpful. Overall very pleased with the unit :-)

I brought this home attached all the wires and fired this up and everything worked great no problems . it is easy to adjust and has soo many features I probably wont need but are nice to know are available if needed

This receiver is so easy to use it will make sound correction's to what ever u are using it 4 like movie surround to dolby to stereo also the remote is user friendly.

This receiver has everything you could need - so many inputs including Internet. Multiple zones and subwoofer outputs.

This Pioneer is a quality product and Best Buy is a great company to deal with. Their customer service it tops.

WORTH EVERY PENNY easy to use and the I control AV 2012 android app works perfect. a must for audiophiles

I purchased this receiver when I was upgrading to 7.1 surround. My first purchase ran hot to the touch and kept kicking off on me when it went into protect mode. When I returned to Best Buy the salesperson in the Magnolia room explained my options and sold me on the SC-61. I'm very thankful for their excellent service and my soundroom is alive with great audio.

Fantastic sounding the class D amps make it punch and sing.
