Definitely the worst of the series, wasn’t horrible but could have been a lot better.

The movie is a disappointment. It's obvious at times and the story was just blah.

Honestly it didn't really need to be made. They could have stopped at 3

Did not like the story line as much as the other Pirate movies.

Good addition to the series for the whole family to enjoy.

Compared to the original it pales in comparison. Too weird.

Not funny, not exciting, not well written and terribly directed

Nothing can re-capture the surprise and glee of the first Pirates, but this latest installment happily avoids some of the excesses that bloated Parts 2 and 3. Part 4 brings Jack Sparrow into the same domain as James Bond: people are content to watch a repetitive franchise as long as their favorite aspects are done tolerably well. I had low expectations and was (almost) content: Jack Sparrow is his same loopy self; the insipid characters of Will & Elizabeth have been eliminated without a backward glance or any dialogue wasted on an explanation; and Geoffrey Rush has more time on screen, thanks to a bigger role as Barbossa (and he also has the best lines and reactions, even though he is now working for the Royal Navy). The tedious, drawn-out battles between ships have been eliminated, Keith Richards has a cameo, and Penelope Cruz and Ian McShane provide predictable beauty, sizzle, and menace. There is nothing actually innovative in Part 4, and it has no logical plot (why include a pious missionary who looks like a Calvin Klein model?), but thats all right. What bothered me more than the feeble plot were the intrusive 3D effects and the obligatory scene of CGI violence (in which some disturbing mermaids fail to match the eerie magic of the original underwater walking skeletons). BOTTOM LINE: skip the 3D version, and if you have any doubts about whether you will like the movie, see something else. All in all, an uninspired sequel in the goofy, bombastic, predictable Pirates franchise.

The 4th one was alright to watch good plot theme but just seemed like it was just going through the motions wasnt engaging to watch.

Free of his debt to Davy Jones, we join Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) in the process of rescuing a trusted shipmate from the Royal executioners. When that fails, the crown attempts to coerce him into setting sail for the fabled fountain of youth. However, while Jack is in possession of neither ship nor crew, (and the film is without former cast members Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley who elected to pursue other projects) Sparrow’s captors are under the impression that he has a ship and is presently amassing a crew. Sparrow investigates and discovers someone impersonating him for their own purposes. A woman, of all things. In fact, a woman from his past by the name of Angelica (played by Penelope Cruz). Clearly the story is complicated and the viewer is asked to make many accommodations where plausibility and time are concerned. That said, it’s a well-executed successor to the three previous films, the action is entertaining and the cast is, for the most part, more than adequate. A great time at the movies.

Well, here I go again with the comments I have been forced to input since fall 2009. What is Disney thinking? This Release ONLY blu-ray packages BUT we DVD people have to sit & wait for that package? Terrible. I hope Disney loses a lot of money again because of this idiot choice. I can NOT afford regular DVD’s, how can I afford blu-rays? The film is decent. Jumps around is she or isn’t she with Cruz. At least she can say she has a hit box office movie now. The changing of the Rush’s character. Been in all the films but they keep messing with the character. And, his character was not even spoken of on the promotional part on the DVD case. It is okay to surprise your audience, but the story jumps EVERY TWO SECONDS get to be a bit much. Johnny can do the Jack character in his sleep. Bringing Keith Richards back for a cameo. Only other past character coming back was Gibbs. Now, this LAME, CHEAP BLU-RAY PACKAGE. Yep, I paid an expensive amount of money for an OLD DAYS BUT NOT FOR DISNEY PLAIN SILVER DVD & A COLORFUL FRISBEE. Back when DVD’s came out in the late 1990’s remember Disney films had colorful discs. BUT EVERYONE IS DOING BLU-RAY DISNEY. Does anyone think Walt would have allowed there cheap looking DVD’s to be released if he was still alive? No, I do NOT think so. How about these plastic cases WITH THE INTENTIONAL HOLES IN THEM. CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP. So discs can be damaged SO YOU ARE FORCED TO BUY ANOTHER. No chapter list, any information on the film. Film is fine, best of course is still the 2003 original. But, DISNEY DVD PEOPLE ARE STILL OUT HERE SO RELEASE THEM PROPERLY & STOP THE CUTTING OF CORNERS.

Who could believe after 3 already brilliant performances and plots that Pirates of the Carribean could come back and captivate us with an equally if not upstaged sequel to the previous endeavours taken on by Jack and his crew. A MUST HAVE TO THE COLLECTION..... And if you don't have rthe first three this should make you want to. Great Job Johnny...................

When it came to the plot this was probably my least favorite out of all the pirates films. I felt it dragged on a bit too much. But everything else about this film was great, Loved the cast, Johnny Depp was great as always, and the additions of Penelope Cruz & Ian McShane were a great plus. The 3D I thought was really good, gave great depth on many scenes.

Not as good as the first three but still a good addition to the series. Even though the 3D isn't great, I still enjoyed what it has to offer. All in all, this movie is worth keeping in my collection and the little bit of 3D it features is just an added bonus. It might not be worth upgrading your 2D version though. in other pages, ive seen the same price but thy give you the 3d movie, the blu ray, the dvd, and a digital copy. I think that this prices on the movies ae completely outragious. the only reason im buying the movie in here is because i have 25 dlls in rewars. otherwise, i would go with the competition.

He's a guru of cinema. His performance, assisted by the other well-known characters in the movie, make for a great movie for a date-night. It was worth the money and worth my time. I say--MAKE ANOTHER :-)

Johnny Depp never ceases to entertain me in this role! I have enjoyed each of the pirate movies as much or more than the one before and can't wait to see what is to come next in the series!

If you like Pirates of the Caribbean, you'll like this movie. There are moments where the plot is hard to follow, but overall it still has all of the fun and excitement of all of the past films.

Pirates 3D looks great on my Samsung 3D TV!! Some movies have had 3D added after production, but Pirates was filmed in 3D which transfers great to blu-ray. With surround sound system, it is as good as being in the movie theater!

Great continuation of the Pirates' franchise with all of the same actors playing the main characters. It is a great escape into a fun filled world of whimsey. I truly enjoy Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow.
