The movie is a classic that should’ve gotten a lot more respect. The video is overly dark and barely passes for decent and the audio is slightly better, but still leaves a lot to be desired. It is obvious Disney put very little effort in making this transfer which is a shame considering the popularity of this franchise. A real disappointment.

I usually put a lot of detail in my reviews. Not this time. This giant pile of cow flop doesn't deserve it. The picture has been processed to the point it looks fake and the audio lacks any kind of punch or energy. My blu-ray versions look and sound better. This should have been an out-of-the-park home run. It's not. It's not even in the same ballpark. In fact, it's not even in the same state as the ballpark. It really is that bad. Don't waste your money.

I don't usually leave reviews but I was compelled to this time. To say this is the worst 4k transfer i've ever seen might be an understatement! Bad,bad, bad!! Horrible, horrible!! Not enough superlatives to describe this one! I've been a big supporter of Disney media all my life but they don't seem to care anymore. I won't be purchasing any more Disney 4k titles for the foreseeable future or at least until they decide to put out a true 4k product.

I love this movie, however the transfer to 4k did not do this film justice.

4K UHD Blu-Ray, disappointment for home theatre

I’m really disappointed with the 4K UHD Blu-Ray (with Dolby Atmos) version of Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl. I agree with everyone else who has reviewed this version of the movie. It really does appear that the picture was simply upscaled to 4K and I see some of the artificial noise reduction that others were talking about. The Dolby Atmos track was a major letdown. I compared it to the streamable version on Disney+ and aside from certain sounds not being sent to the Atmos speakers, it’s basically the same video and sound quality. In summary, the 4K UHD Blu-Ray version is not worth adding to the Blu-Ray collection.

Hardly any improvement over the regular blurays that are out. Disney continues to disrespect and disregard 4K. Their discs are some of the worst.

Disney really botched the 4k scan here with too much digital noise reduction. This process gave the film a waxy look, much like Terminator 2 4k. Very disappointed here.

Out of all the blu ray transfers this is one of the worst. Not 4k just upscaled. Digital denoiser added and then resharperned artifically. Colors are trash. So many artifacts: green red and yellow in shadows its insane. Mids are really unbalanced like a one hdr rule disney uses for all scenes. 0/10 I really dont like you disney. You dont care aboout fans or your movies for fans.

The reason why I gave it a two is because the 4k transfer itself is horrible. The movie itself is always great. Just the 4k transfer is terrible.

Video and audio is just ok for a 4K movie. Looks like they did not go to great lengths to improve this for 4K.
