Great movie updated to 4k plus hdr. Loaded with special features with theatrical and director's cuts of the film. Only downside is not having and Dolby Atmos or DTS-X mix. The DTS-HD 5.1 audio is great tho. Comes with a booklet with movie scenes which is great too. I recommend picking this up to any who is a fan of scfi, and a must own for fans of the film.

Not the greatest transfer to HDR. Better than streaming though. Contrast suffers. Crushed blacks. Solid audio.

Great movie, solid transfer, but, and I'm basing this on prior excellent work out of Arrow, it appears the master had some damages that just couldn't be repaired in the transfer process, leading to portions in the rich blacks (which is funny on two levels, just due to the blacks being so deep, a high praise, considering I'm on a mid-tier 4K TV & a non-dedicated 4K player (XB1) and that this is a film with "black" right there in the title,) that end up with "scratchy-snow" dancing throughout them in some scenes, where some a perfect & quite breathtaking, compared to the black levels I've encountered in other films. Unfortunately, this is a chance you take with some older films being upgraded to 4K nowadays (has it really been two decades since Pitch Black hit theaters? Wow, I'm old lol). For fans of Pitch Black, the entire trilogy, or Vin Diesel, this is a must-own, ESPECIALLY at this under-$20 price tag & it including the "Director's Cut" (tbh, it's about 3mins of footage & I couldn't tell you what was added/changed, it's been so long, but I'm sure hardcore fans will know immediately). For others, if you're happy with your blu ray, the price point may be enough incentive, but otherwise, dampen your expectations at a pristine transfer.

Whether you like Vin Diesel or several other known actors in this movie, it's a fun scifi horror flick that's has an interesting spin. His character, Riddick, spawned two other movies. Worth a look see

Not a bad movie ,I did in joy it but It was a dark movie. Vin Diesel plays in it and I think he made this move as good as it was. I liked the steelbook.

I feel this is a movie that was appreciated after it's intial release and have had a cult following ever since. Good sci Fi action.

Good story, good FX, good casting, this movie is a perfect mix between a sci-fi movie, an action movie and an horror movie !

Definitely a good restoration! Not all the scenes look awesome in 4K but they are moments when this looks 10x better than even the latest Riddick. This does not have a Digital Copy which was a bummer and its Master sound file is DTS. I don’t know why companies are updating the visuals to Dolby Vision but aren’t putting an Atmos track on the disc. Unfortunately my soundbar (Sonos Arc) has not DTS capabilities so that was also a bummer.

I love the Riddick franchise. I jumped at the opportunity to buy the 4k disc. Excellent picture for a movie that came out in year 2000. Only reason I give it 4 stars is this copy did not come with a digital copy and does not have Dolby Atmos nor any 7.1 capability. It is only standard 5.1. It does come with a booklet giving details of the creation of the movie and the back story of the main characters.

Some call it derivative while I call it entertaining. There are a few lapses of logic that give way to the sheer presence of all the cast involved. Each actor really gave their all in this movie and upped the believability level. My only complaint focuses on the creature designs of Patrick Tatopolous. All his monsters look the same.
