I loved the idea of wireless so I wanted to make it work. A week after having it with the new thinner case, I woke up 2 mornings finding that the phone stopped charging. I double checked it was perfectly aligned and 'rapidly charging' before bed. Too inconsistent for my needs, returned it.

When docked on this charger the pixel 3 is supposed to act like a Google home product but those features do not work properly at all. I do not recommend unless price drops drastically and firmware upgrades make this thing run as intended.

As I read in previous forums, the phone has a hard time charging when it has a case on it. So each might I have to remove my case. Also, if you do get it to charge you have to shuffle it around on the stand to make sure it's connected. I will place it in the center of the stand and sometimes it won't register that the phone is on the dock. For those looking to charge your Pixel Bluetooth headphones you have to turn the case upside down for it to work. Honestly it's too much for a simple task.

* Take off your case and any attachments, like mounts or grips.
* Check that your phone’s screen is facing out, with the back against the Pixel Stand.
* Center your phone on the Pixel Stand.
* Use the cable and power adapter that came in the box with your Pixel Stand.
* Make sure the cable is plugged in to the power adapter, and the power adapter is plugged in to a working power outlet.
If your Pixel Stand continues to not charge, we recommend contacting our 1:1 support (From your phone click on Settings > Tips & support > Contact us).

It is pretty specific for the shape and size of phone that it will work for. I'm sure it would be great if you have the specific phone for which it was designed.

Sometimes they charge fairly quickly but if your phone (compatible with Pixel 3 and 3XL only) is in use (playing music) then this wireless charger charges extremely slowly. Around 3 minutes to charge 1%. It's much much faster to just charge via cable.

The Pixel Stand can charge your phone through most phone cases that are up to 3 millimeters thick. These cases include:
Made by Google fabric cases for Pixel 4 or 3
Most Made for Google cases for Pixel 4 or 3
Google’s My Case for Pixel 3
Depending on what your phone's case is made of, your phone could charge slowly or not at all.
The Pixel Stand can't charge phones in cases that have metal, batteries, or attachments, like mounts or grips.
