Great protection inside a backpack!

As long as you stay conscious of the case (don't submerge it in water, don't spike it into the ground, etc.), your laptop should stay in good condition for a long time. I do have a removable piece in my laptop that clicks open from time to time, but that's just a matter of reorienting the case such that it won't be triggered by being set on the ground.
