We live in a world of derivative, uninspired movies today. It is great that we have blu-ray players to preserve classic films of every genre. What makes P,T&A classic simply is the chemistry of John Candy and Steve Martin (when he was still funny). This movie is pure insanity from pretty much the start until almost the very end. It is a family movie, but only if your youngest members are at least in their teens. I love comedies and this was sadly one of Steve Martin's last "laugh out loud" comedies. The only bad thing about this movie is that we no longer have John Candy to thank for greats like this.

Every Wednesday before Thanksgiving, my family and I enjoy our favorite Thanksgiving film together. When I learned it was going to be released this year on bluray, I was ecstatic!! This year, Thanksgiving Eve will be even more special when we enjoy "Planes Trains & Automobiles" in high-def goodness! Thanks Best Buy, for helping make this release possible.

"Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" holds fond memories for me. I remember seeing it in a theatre many years ago. On DVD this film looks as great as ever with a few nice extras too. It would have been nice to get some commentary track on it, though. Perhaps by Steve Martin. The transfer and sound are great. This makes for a great family holiday film, but you have to be ready for the one scene which makes it rated "R." Otherwise, it's easily PG-13.

This film is my favorite of John Hughes' work and one of my favorite comedies ("Ferris Bueller's Day Off" is also great). John Candy and Steve Martin respectively give their best performances as two guys who keep running into each other when they are trying to get from New York to their homes in Chicago. It includes many memorable scenes, including the one that earns the film's R-rating and the scene where the duo drives down the wrong side of the road. The DVD looks good, but there are no extra features; it's still worth it to see the movie in widescreen. Highly recommended.

This is one of my all-time favorite comedies. Steve Martin plays the uptight Neal Page while the late, great John Candy plays the lovable Del Griffith. This odd couple gets "stuck" together trying to get home in time for Thanksgiving. Too many great scenes to list them all. All I can say is that this is comedy at its best and it also has a very touching ending as well. Highly recommended.

This is a great Thanksgiving movie. Steve Martin and John Candy are super funny together and it's great to get a digital copy code with the Blu-ray too. The quality is great and I love this movie!

This is simply a flawless, hilarious rollercoster of a film. A true classic. The acting, writing and directing here is topnotch. This one of the best 'buddy' films ever. It has very funny moments, yet it also has heart. I could watch this over and over. Do yourself a favor, purchase this film.

This movie is hilarious! The story is simple but it will make you feel attached to the characters. This movie is very heartwarming and it is one of the best comedies ever! Make sure you buy and watch this movie with your family for the holidays!

This was a movie I hadn't seen in years, and Best Buy came through clutch when the other stores did not have it. A movie filled with laughter, it met everyone of my expectations in terms of viewing the movie again.

I usually do not purchase Blu Rays unless it is a movie that I want to watch over and over again. This is one of those movies. One of the best comedies I have ever seen.

you'll enjoy this comedy with these legions. If something bad can happen it will but in the funniest way. Don't miss out on these two trying to get home.
