First saw this on BBC America at near HD (streaming through Sling TV dependant on bandwidth). I wanted to see the full capability of my new-ish 4k OLED LG TV and save the strain on my internet service. This will sound odd, but my dog loves to watch it and settles her down while inside. The narration is calming while the scenes are fantastic

Bout my first 4k hdr player along with kingsmen and Magnificent 7 along side this................... Do yourself a favor if your upgrading your tv to 4k. 1st buy a 4k tv that supports HDR( you will instantly see a huge difference in picture quality even when comparing to regular blu ray.Never before have i seen a better picture quality in a show before.

This was our first purchase of a 4K bluray and there's been no regrets. It served my husband and I very well for several evening's worth of not just entertainment but learning as well. The pictures are absolutely stunningly crisp and as you go along it is wittily but not annoyingly narrated. We'll be watching it over again and again, no doubt.

Anyone who owns a 4k television and UHD/4K blu ray player must purchase this disk. The BBC documentary has picture quality that will amaze you and your friends. The story line is also important for all to embrace as our precious planets beauty is under siege by environmental changes. Best 4k movie in my collection, highly recommended!

Amazing video. Well worth the $35 I paid. Excellent demonstration of 4K technology. On an 100 inch screen can barely see the pixels when I'm standing near it. On other disks the difference between 4K and blu ray is noticeable, but not earth shattering. Unsure how much this is impacted by the upscaling from the Oppo player and Sony projector.

This is what I upgraded to a 4K television for. The quality of the presentation is breathtaking following various animals of all species across the globe. Bestbuy should run this DVD on all there 4K televisions. It would double sales. I'm watching it using my Xbox One S on my TCL Roku TV and it is the best display of any nature program period.

I bought this during Black Friday for only $25. It's now on Netflix, but for those without a subscription, it is a stunning series to try with your 4K HDR TV. I also have an Xbox One X, so playing the media was no problem. Visuals were amazing and David Attenborough provides a great narration. A great thing to add to your collection!

This is it. The real first documentary to take advantage of the current technology. The views are stunning with the exception of certain ones being recorded in 4k infancy; it shows the jitters of the drones and not to perfect resolutuon. But that is a mute point, when you see the 95 percent of the remaining footage. It is breathtaking. Must see.

I have long enjoyed nature documentaries and the BBC always has some of the best. I use this video to demonstrate to friends and family the beauty of a 4K picture. The documentary is nature at its finest and most realistic. It may be a little intense in spots for younger viewers but overall it is, again, an outstanding BBC show.

I know this is a little more expensive than most 4k discs, but it is worth it. The level of visual detail exceeds what I have seen on any other 4k disc. In addition, the content is outstanding. It is amazing how the photographers are able to capture so many unique animals in their everyday routines. By far, my favorite 4k disc.

I have Directv but don't subscribe to their top tier level so bought this set of 4K disks of Planet Earth 2 to see what 4K video looked like. Was impressed by how much better the definition and colors are in 4K as opposed to the similar Planet Earth 2 video recorded in HD definition on Directv. This set of 3 disks was well worth the price.

Like the original planet earth which validated my upgrade the 1080p and a bluray player, planet earth II validates my upgrade to 4k hdr. Not all the shots are in 4k but the majority of close ups are. You can see details of the bubbles of a lions spot, the dust coming off the zebras fur, squint from looking into the blazing sun. Must buy.

The Planet Earth series has always been one of my family favorites and to have it available in 4K is phenomenal. The videography is truly stunning. The colors are bright and vivid and the close up camera work is incredible. That, coupled with narration by one of the best, makes this a must own for anyone who loves the BBC documentaries.

If you are looking for material to show off your new high end HDR 4K TV, this is it! The photography and animal behavior content is thrilling, engaging, at times poignant, and utterly spectacular. The multichannel HD Audio is also outstanding. The only reason I rated it five stars is because they don't offer the option of six.

Planet Earth II explores the jungles, mountains, deserts, islands and cities of the world. The landscapes and the remarkable ways animals manage to overcome the challenges of surviving in the wildest places on Earth. If you're a fan of nature shows you will love this, it looks remarkable on 4k . A definite must for any collection

I LOVED the first Planet Earth and the 2nd one doesn't disappoint!!! Eloquently done with different perspectives than the first one!!! In the island one, I felt like my family was watching football!!! You will know what I mean when you watch it and route for the baby lizard!!!! We were all cheering and routing for the underdog :-)

If you truly need to see what your 4K HDR TV really looks like, and not the streaming stuff on YouTube ( which some stuff does look good) this DVD was filmed specifically in 4K HDR and man, does the color pop right out. Only suggestion, wait till it goes on sale before purchasing disc. And buy a good HDR cable. It does help.

If you have a 4k player and a 4k tv this is totally worth the money. Is 2 discs not 1. The footage, takes, angles are superb!! I was debating wether I should spend the money or not, but I'm so happy I did. Unless you don't like nature or animal documentaries. Otherwise go for it! It really shows your tvs full potential.

Bought this to test 4K capabilities of Blu Ray player on my new tv. Picture quality is good and the programming is informative. Enough hours to make it worth it.

I bought this after purchasing an Xbox One X and TCL 4K television and wanted to put my setup to the ultimate disk. After buying Planet Earth II on 4K blu ray, I can honestly say that was the best looking movie/documentary series I have ever seen. Such high quality video that would truly blow your mind. 5/5 stars!
