AMAZING in 4k HDR. Incredibly interesting, beautifully shot

the show is amazing; even more so in 4k and on a 4k tv

I thoroughly researched 4K movies before purchasing this. Granted this is a documentary more so than a movie but I think we all know that. It is the 2nd highest rated 4K movie as of this review. It was filmed in native 4K and is presented here exactly as intended by its creators. This means it is true 4K and not a blu-ray 1080 P film that has been "upscaled". It is a "reference" movie and something you should have in your collection. After all, what good is a 4K tv if you don't have a reference 4K film to show it off?! Plus it's a rare top of the line 4K film you can watch with the whole family and guests. That's invaluable.

Probably one of the best nature docs you can find.

Has every element that makes people watch a high multi million dollar movies; just that here everything is real and a great message to humans. On the technical front, superb photography and an extra ordinary screenplay, editing, music and of course Dave's narration as usual. Worth every penny the producers demand that has to go the individuals spent on making it. Have both the versions 1 and 2 of the BBC series. Watched a 4K content on 1080p projector, still not disappointed at all rather motivated to buy a 4K projector now from BestBuy. Hats off...

Bought a new Samsung 800F and had the ultra DVD player, I had to try the disc set which advertised 3 discs but only came with 2. Beautiful picture quality with interesting topics.

The images and scenes were beyond amazing. You wouldn't have been able to see some of the detail in real life. I was able to get my little's to sit down and watch it.

"Planet Earth II" in stunning 4K quality is a showcase for your 4K television. The discs include 7 episodes that each run approximately 50 minutes for 5 hours of BBC nature greatness, and of course, narrated by the legendary David Attenborough. This nature program is timeless and can be viewed over and over and shared with family and friends.

If you want to show someone why you bought a 4k set-up, show them this. It just looks ridiculous (in a good way). As far as the series itself goes, I was brought up in the UK so Attenborough is what we got as nature programmes, all the way from the original Life On Earth. Everything he does, is done properly and in my opinion is the gold standard for nature documentary work. My only reservations with this particular piece is that it's relatively short compared to the original. That leave the whole thing feeling a little thin. Again, this is only in comparison to his other works, most of which I have already on various formats. This still has the power to grip an audience. Looking forward to what he does next with Blue Planet 2. Already imagining all the underwater stuff in full 4k HDR.

Overall television has an awesome colors that goes from a bright white to a dark deep black. Sound is good but I could use some surround for sure !

I have several 4k blu-ray discs now so i can now contrast and compare "great" versus "good". Everyone agrees that The Revenant is "reference quality" and it is. In fact I only buy 4k discs that can demonstrate they are better than regular blu-ray. My tv an LG 65b6p OLED makes every blu-ray look exceptional, but 4k, when the content is right is absolutely awesome. This disc because of the superlative photography, is in its own league. Even the demo discs of landscapes, etc. you see in the stores can't beat this and nothing else even comes close. A must-have!

I loved the original planet earth narrated by David A and since i recently built out home theater with a 4K projector (Epson 5040ub), I grabbed this set when I saw it on a great deal. Played it using the Philips UHD BD player and HDR worked out of the box with my Epson PJ and some of the scenes form this disc are nothing short of jaw dropping. Amazing picture quality and great narration, but I felt the content is pretty short, especially when compared to the original planet earth. Definitely a must buy if you loved the original planet earth.

There are several reasons to want this Ultra Blu-ray set. First and foremost the content is fascinating. Like it's predecessor Planet Earth, the closeup look at our world is breathtaking. The time and effort that went into capturing this footage must have been staggering. The result is a spectacular look at the Earth in ways most of us will never see firsthand. A nice secondary plus of owning this set is to show off your Ultra HD TV system. If your setup had the capability to deliver the goods, these disks have it. Highly recommended.
